Leah here today with Tuesday's Newsround.

:00:00.:00:00.

Loads of brilliant stuff to tell you about.

:00:00.:00:12.

Dermot O'Leary's back on the X Factor.

:00:13.:00:15.

And the children busy trying to save our bees.

:00:16.:00:26.

First to the city of Palmyra in Syria.

:00:27.:00:29.

It was one of the most amazing ancient cities in the world,

:00:30.:00:32.

but it was under risk of being completely destroyed

:00:33.:00:35.

Until a couple days ago it was under the control of the group IS,

:00:36.:00:41.

which deliberately damaged many of the buildings.

:00:42.:00:45.

It's a Unesco World Heritage Site which means it is an important

:00:46.:00:50.

historical place which should be protected.

:00:51.:00:55.

The city is in Syria, where there's been a war

:00:56.:00:58.

Many sides are fighting each other to gain more power there,

:00:59.:01:02.

including one group called Islamic State.

:01:03.:01:07.

In May 2015, it took control of Palmyra.

:01:08.:01:11.

Islamic State destroyed buildings because they have very extreme views

:01:12.:01:14.

that hate the idea of other religions, even ones that

:01:15.:01:19.

Over the weekend, Palmyra was re-captured by forces who follow

:01:20.:01:25.

These forces have been very brutal - but they do not agree

:01:26.:01:31.

with Islamic State's destruction of the ancient ruins,

:01:32.:01:36.

so for the time being Palmyra is safe.

:01:37.:01:39.

These drone pictures reveal the damage caused by Islamic State.

:01:40.:01:42.

Some treasured sites have been destroyed.

:01:43.:01:44.

But much of the ancient city's ruins are still standing.

:01:45.:01:50.

Now to the big push to help save our bumble bees,

:01:51.:01:53.

butterflies and other insects whose numbers are falling across the UK.

:01:54.:01:55.

A new project is asking children to help plant more flowers for them

:01:56.:01:59.

to feast on and log the types of insects you might see

:02:00.:02:01.

The hope is experts will be able to help protect the creatures

:02:02.:02:06.

So far, 260 schools have signed up and children have told Newsround why

:02:07.:02:11.

When I found out how important pollen was, it was a big shock to

:02:12.:02:26.

me. It makes the world as pretty as it is now and it produces food for

:02:27.:02:33.

us. If we don't think about it now, we will struggle to improve our

:02:34.:02:37.

environment. If there weren't insects like bees and butterflies,

:02:38.:02:44.

there would not be any flowers because they take pollen is from --

:02:45.:02:50.

pollen from one flower to another to make more flowers.

:02:51.:02:51.

Americans will vote for their new President in November,

:02:52.:02:53.

but there's one person who is making all the headlines at the moment -

:02:54.:02:56.

Who is Donald Trump? He is one of America's most successful

:02:57.:03:06.

businessmen. Now he is trying to become president. Up until this

:03:07.:03:14.

election, he was mostly known for being a reality TV star, but now he

:03:15.:03:22.

has a serious chance of being the next president and that is

:03:23.:03:25.

attracting huge attention from around the world. That is because of

:03:26.:03:30.

the things he says, which are controversial. He has been tough on

:03:31.:03:34.

immigration and wants to build a war between America and Mexico to stop

:03:35.:03:43.

immigrants getting in. He has also called for a ban on Muslims coming

:03:44.:03:49.

into the US. His message, let us make America great again, has gone

:03:50.:03:54.

down well with voters. But people are worried, saying that Donald

:03:55.:04:02.

Trump is racist and dangerous. Now they have been clashes at some of

:04:03.:04:09.

his events. Donald Trump's opponents says he has said things to encourage

:04:10.:04:14.

violence. He says he has not. A lot of people are worried that this

:04:15.:04:15.

year's election will divide the US. You can find more on the US
