-A man called Don Curly Wurly tries

-to buy the cafe at a low price.

-I won't tell you his plans but the

-village would be a dangerous place.

-We're two members of the Maffia but

-we don't know where the others are.

-Don hasn't told us what he did

-with them but we still work for him.

-We've got a job to do

-and it's about Sophia Ravioli.

-This is Pws, the pantomime cat

-and she loves telling stories.

-The documentary is about two nuns.

-He asked if this was true.

-These ladies have been so brave.

-I'm sure they are feeling nervous.

-are more accepting of this.

-It's been a difficult year

-for a lot of people.

-Amongst all this, we have

-two people who love each other.

-They want to do everything

-or worshipping.

-These ladies are very brave.

-I left the church

-when I was younger.

-I hope this film will show people

-that the Church welcomes people.

-Hiraeth Am Y Seren by E Olwen Jones.

-Our bands, harp ensemble and the

-school's choirs were all combined...

-..in this project of making a new CD

-of the work of E Olwen Jones.

-The brass band got to visit

-the Sain recording studio.

-We saw people at work on their

-many machines with flashing lights.

-It was an incredible experience

-and better than anything I've done.

-It was the best thing

-of the whole project.

-We went through it

-and the acoustics were amazing.

-The CD

-has a lot of different tracks.

-There's traditional songs

-about the Nativity...

-Steff's item on Everest last week.

-This week, we learn about

-the effects of global warming...

-..on that part of the world

-and various parts of Wales.

-This is our fifth item

-in our series on Everest.

-Temperatures continue to rise and

-our glaciers are still melting...

-..and the possible results

-of global warming are terrifying.

-The Earth is getting warmer...

-..and our weather is more extreme

-with storms, drought and flooding.

-People are losing their homes

-and livelihoods.

-Many think we have already passed

-the point of no turning back.

-If all the glaciers melt, the

-sea level will rise by 70 metres.

-Another fragile area

-that's known as the third pole...

-..that supplies drinking water for

-1.4 billion people is the Himalayas.

-Those areas located beneath

-the glaciers in the Khumbu Valley...

-..live in uncertainty.

-They get their drinking water

-from the rivers...

-..and rely on the rivers

-to water their agricultural land.

-This water supply

-is uncertain in the future.

-As we look

-further into the future...

-..it's possible for these

-glaciers to shrink or disappear...

-..so there are implications

-for those communities at that time.

-But another danger faces the

-communities of the Khumbu Valley.

-One of the dangers of global warming

-in the Khumbu Valley...

-..is a GLOF

-or a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood.

-This sign shows how to reduce

-its effects in this area.

-It's very interesting to see.

-It's becoming more real every day

-as a result of global warming.

-As we walked on the path to Everest,

-we were reminded of the dangers...

-..no more so than the scenes

-of the village of Dingboche.

-The view behind me of this valley

-has really caught my eye.

-It's near a glacier that's melting

-quickly due to global warming.

-More water is released...

-..which puts added pressure on

-the moraine in front of the glacier.

-If it gets to heavy,

-then the moraine will break...

-..releasing the water

-that will wash Dingboche away.

-This is what happened

-on 4 August 1985...

-..when Dig Tsho burst its moraine

-following an avalanche.

-A lake measuring 1.5km-long emptied

-its contents in five hours...

-..destroying everything in its wake.

-What about the effects in Wales?

-Some communities on the Welsh coast

-are threatened by extreme storms...

-..and the increase in the sea level.

-There are implications in terms

-of some parts of the Welsh coast.

-Some of the biggest cities in Wales

-and the world are on the coast...

-..so global warming is a global

-issue that won't go away overnight!
