-and Iolo is at the centre of it.

-My character, Iolo was assaulted

-recently because of his sexuality.

-Iolo has to deal with

-the consequences of the incident.

-Aled is also a new face

-to the Pobol y Cwm cast.

-Valley Gymnastics Academy attracts

-hundreds of youngsters.

-..we are reminded of our successes

-during London's Games...

-..including Louis Smith and

-Beth Tweddle in the gymnastics.

-However, where will Britain

-and Wales' next gymnasts hail from?

-There's a good chance they'll come

-from Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent.

-With six clubs in the valley

-and 2,000 budding young gymnasts...

-..the future looks bright.

-Where did it all begin?

-The Valleys Gymnastics Academy

-was established six years ago.

-The club was originally hosted

-at the old Ebbw Vale leisure centre.

-We now have a new leisure centre...

-..and our bilingual sessions

-are held every Tuesday evening.

-They're thriving and have grown

-in popularity over the recent years.

-We also offer rhythmic gymnastics

-for those who are more flexible...

-..and for girls who like to dance

-and express themselves to music.

-We also do adult and pre-school

-gymnastics and cheerleading.

-Every session lasts 45 minutes

-and start with games and a warm-up.

-We then move on to gymnastic skills

-on beam bars, vaults and the floor.

-There are several young leaders

-who help the instructors...

-..whilst following

-a specialist training course.

-After all their hard work,

-they will gain a qualification.

-I help children with the equipment

-and teach them how do the moves.

-The main centre is a few miles

-down the road in Crumlin.

-young gymnasts hone their craft.

-The weather for May

-has been great so far...

-..and perfect for stepping outside

-to admire the wonders of nature.

-For some people nothing beats

-a view of a carpet of bluebells...

-..which are Britain's

-most famous wild flowers.

-Gerallt strolled among these spring

-blooms and met some of its admirers.

-When you spot

-a carpet of bluebells...

-..it's a sign that the flowers

-have been rooted for many years.

-But sometimes nature can benefit

-from receiving the help of mankind.

-Three years ago, we cleared this

-area of the Plas Brondanw gardens.

-There use to be holly and oak trees

-instead of this carpet of bluebells.

-We can now appreciate

-the fruits of our labour...

-..as these flowers

-need plenty of sunlight.

-As you can see, they're thriving

-despite blooming a little later.

-The cold weather delayed them but

-they will be in bloom for a month.

-There's plenty of opportunity

-to enjoy them this year.

-the Independent Living Skills...

-..are learning about different

-species of bluebells at the college.

-our native Welsh bluebells...

-from Spain to threaten our species.

-The Spanish variety grows flowers

-all around the stem.

-The Welsh bluebells only grow petals

-on one side of the stem.

-Their colours also differ as our

-Welsh bluebells are slightly darker.

-It's great to come outdoors

-to compare both varieties.

-The leaf is also smaller.

-one of the area's former churches...

-..being transformed

-into a yoga centre.

-Yogaplace in Clydach offers classes

-and treatments of all varieties.

-Our little Buddha, Rhodri Gomer

-went to explore his spiritual side.

-Life is sometimes like a whirlwind

-as we rush around...

-..trying to find the perfect balance

-between our family and working life.

-Amidst the madness, it's important

-we find some time for ourselves...

-..for the sake of

-our mental and physical health.

-Maybe this is why yoga classes

-are popular in Wales for all ages.

-I've been practicing yoga

-for 18 months.

-I fell ill and couldn't run,

-train or go to the gym...

-..and I lacked a lot of strength.

-Someone suggested I try yoga

-and that is how I started.

-I enjoyed my first class

-and went a second and third time.

-I eventually caught the bug.

-Yogaplace Cymru opened at

-St John's Church in Clydach...

-..following the success

-of the original centre in London.

-It opened its doors 15 years

-in Bethnal Green.

-Why did you choose Clydach

-for Yogaplace in Wales?

-We fortunately found this church

-being used for storage by builders.

-They kindly let us take it over

-for a yoga studio.

-I've loved opening the doors

-and everyone telling us a story...

-..of a connection with the church

-which are hilarious and beautiful.

-A gentleman came here to renovate

-the church some three years ago...

-..and he completed

-the work four months ago.

-People from London

-wanted to open it as a yoga centre.

-The centre also offers different

-classes and treatments...

-..from body massage to hypnotherapy.

-But the yoga classes

-is the main business.

-The discipline requires controlled

-breathing and a positive attitude.

-By mastering them both,

-you can find spiritual peace.

-Where better to hold

-a yoga session...

-..than at a building that's

-involved the soul for centuries.

-I've fallen in love with this place

-and it's spiritual ambience.

-They've kept original features

-such as the windows and beams.

-It makes me feel at home.

-I'm quite an anxious person.

-It's pivotal for me

-to come here and relax.

-Over the weeks, you become

-less stressful and relaxed.

-It's great for chilling you out.

-Yoga is different

-to any other exercise.

-It's the only physical exercise

-where you feel relaxed afterwards.

-You usually feel exhausted

-after working out.

-You take your worries and stresses

-into a yoga session...

-..and come out feeling completely

-at ease which is beneficial for you.

-I definitely feel that I've got in

-touch with my spiritual side today.

-I feel like the stresses

-of the world are far away.
