-One of the most challenging tasks

-is transporting animals to the Maes.

-A Crymych man is an expert handler

-of horses and he speaks to them too!

-are rumours of cowboys in Crymych.

-Did you know that there's

-a horse whisperer in Pembrokeshire?

-Horse whispering is the most

-natural way to train a horse.

-You use psychology to train

-the horse to do what we want.

-There are horses that have never

-been in a horse box or lorry.

-We train them and build up their

-confidence a little bit at a time...

-..so that it's as simple

-as walking into a stable.

-Barry learnt his craft

-as a horse whisperer in America...

-..with the world-famous

-horse trainer, Monty Roberts.

-Do you have a specific language

-that you use with these horses?

-They don't use the noises of our

-language but use body language.

-If we're weak in our stance,

-why should the horse listen to us?

-OK, I'll make sure

-I've got good posture.

-Yes, and you need

-to have strong energy.

-It shouldn't be too strong

-or you will scare the horse.

-Kitty has just arrived and

-her owners say she is very anxious.

-This one is from Bristol and is fine

-to ride but cannot be groomed.

-If you approach her with fly spray,

-she strikes out at you.

-when Barry started his training.

-A week later and she's so tame

-that even I can stand next to her.

-The owners said that

-they couldn't approach her at all.

-It teaches the horse so if

-she's standing, I take this away.

-If she runs away or strikes out,

-I keep spraying her with water.

-You build her up a little bit

-at a time.

-The mare learns that the water

-isn't going to hurt her.

-If you used fly spray

-then she would run away.

-Start by building this up to show

-her the noise that it makes.

-This proves that it isn't harm her

-so you release her as she was still.

-At one time, she'd hear this

-by the gate and would run away.

-With the Royal Welsh Show

-and full of assertive energy.
