-People say I'm brave,

-but I haven't been brave.

-I have just told my story.

-The mind is our engine.

-If it fails, we're in trouble.

-Men especially

-don't talk about depression.

-It felt like he was there lurking...

-..and when I was least suspecting it

-Euro 2016 is around the corner.

-I'm so excited!

-It's a long while

-before St David's Day 2017.

-But some Carmarthen residents

-are already gearing up for it.

-A few years ago,

-a group from Pembrokeshire...

-..created a special banner

-for the event.

-Another banner is also being created

-as part of the local celebrations.

-One of my aims when I created

-the Pembrokeshire banner...

-..was to get every other

-Welsh county...

-..to create a banner

-for the St David's Day celebrations.

-Carmarthenshire borders

-Pembrokeshire...

-..so I started to wonder

-how it could be done.

-I was contacted

-by Gwenllian Beynon...

-..coordinator of the Art course

-at Trinity College.

-She was aware

-that I was interested...

-..in using symbols

-from Welsh myths and history.

-I have included a few things

-associated with Carmarthenshire.

-An obvious one is Merlin's Oak.

-I have also included three coracles

-to represent the three rivers...

-..Teifi, Tywi and Taf.

-You will notice five pieces

-at the top and the bottom...

-..which represent

-St David's fingers.

-The banner will be larger

-than the one you see today.

-Four times bigger.

-We have both already started to

-think about colours and textiles...

-..and the many techniques

-to be used.

-I have two messages.

-Firstly, get in touch with me if

-in Wales is lagging behind...

-It's nice to be part of a project

-It's brilliant.

-He is now a novelist.

-The Urdd is grateful to perform

-the 2017 message at Ysgol Glanrafon.

-that is taking place in Flintshire.

-We can't wait to welcome everyone

-to this small corner of Wales.

-The theme of this year's message

-is Choice and Conscience.

-Journalist Aled Eurig told us about

-conscience in World War I...

-..and how some individuals

-objected to fighting in the war.

-Pupils drew ideas from this and were

-asked for opinions on conscience.

-Their ideas differ

-significantly to mine.

-Evidently, their ideas reach beyond

-Wales and to the rest of the world.

-We choose to show respect.

-We choose to help others.
