Hello good evening and welcome to sports scene. That is unbelievable!

Unbelievable. It is a spectacular goal! That shot is an absolute

beauty! Is this a bit of history? It goal! That shot is an absolute

is! MUSIC this is history! Highland history! And Rangers have pulled off

a seemingly un-thinkable... Alan Stubbs has guided his Burnley and

into the Scottish Cup final. Collins's header is into the net!

And he blasts Rangers ahead. Bonnie McKay! It is glory- glory.

Through to the final! STUDIO: Who will be writing history today, the

first-ever Scottish final, from two side outside of the top-flight, we

review the key moments of the game, but now let us get straight to the

action and your commentary team of Craig Paterson and Liam McLeod.

COMMENTATOR: This is the 13th meeting since two Scotland's biggest

clubs were set on a championship collision course, they have won six

apiece since chapter one was inscribed, there doesn't appear to

be much between them. Something has to give today. Hibs's failure to

join the Ibrox club in the top flight will be felt in the coming

months, but today it is all about wiping away the pain, ridicule and

taunting, particularly the inner-city derision they have

received in Edinburgh as the years have piled up without the Scottish

Cup. 114 now, it is such an Achilles heel, such a millstone for the older

Hibs fans in particular, they would have taken victory today some of

them ahead promotion back to the top league. It is all they are left with

four this season at least. Rangers had been idle for three weeks and

they were not exactly in Bloom as they entered the league season, not

that they had to be, given they seal the title with four games to spare.

However they have not won a game since beating Celtic and that

frantic semifinal here last month. Losing that winning feeling, will it

cost them today as it did in 1994 when that Rangers team lost to

Dundee United, and they were without a win in the last five? Dominic Ball

is of course suspended, so Zelalem starts. Nine of the 11 were in the

semifinal against Celtic, top scorer Martin Waghorn posters the side. The

top scorer returning from injury just in time. Kenny Miller has won

this twice, once with Rangers and once with Celtic, Barry McKay is in

the form of his life. Jason Cummings is restored to the Hibs starting XI,

he has eight goals in his last ten appearances against Rangers, and

they are backing him to score against the Ibrox side. It is like

printing money, will he have the Midas touch this afternoon? The

goalkeeper Logan was the semifinal hero, and McGeouch is fit and

starts. The referee for the big one is Steven MacLean, the 35 euros has

described this as the pinnacle of his career as he takes charge of the

Scottish Cup final for the first time. The formalities just about

complete, lovely day, from Glasgow South side, for a game of football.

And it is one of the biggest games of football of the year. Rangers

shooting East, in this first half, in the blue. Hibs in the green and

white, going towards Mount Florida. The second time, that a Rangers and

Hibs side have clashed in a Scottish Cup final. Rather a fourth, given

the other one in 79, given not one but two replays. Followed by a 3-2

Rangers win at the end of an epic that required extra time. Arthur

Duncan Weir than her own golf, and the cup went to Ibrox. Paterson,

playing for both these teams, he has won the Scottish Cup as well and so

he is well placed to tell us how this might go. I have absolutely no

idea, it could be penalties, these teams are so evenly matched. That is

an early challenge from Anthony Stokes, that is how fired they are.

The referee does not want to dish out cards at this page against what

Alan Stubbs does tend to set up his side the way he has today. Sometimes

once, sometimes doesn't. Cummings, for Stokes, no want to hit in the

middle at the moment and Stokes might find it himself, and he does!

is another chance for Hibs, Jason Cummings gets himself into the box,

slightly earlier. Hibs, two wins against Rangers, they came at Easter

Road, they didn't lose the challenge cup, right at the start of the

Rangers not going to take them short and here we go again. To Tavernier.

And Halliday winds one up. Certainly capable from that kind of distance,

Andy Halliday but he does not get enough on it. It is a poor strike.

Good defending initially by Kiernan but it pops up. Opens up for him as

well. That is a half decent effort but it is just bumping into the

challenge, driving at the Rangers defence, gets caught under his feet,

on the top of the net. At the moment, every 50-50 has been one.

McKay. Waghorn. Pressing, looking for a bit of

space. Tavernier's ball, it is a big one. It is Kenny Miller. It is 1-1

in the final. Rangers, Mr dependable, does it again. That is a

great header from Kenny Miller, the ball in, and absolute peach. If you

don't have big strikers you have got to fizz the ball in. That is a

beauty and that is a belter of a header. But he has got no chance of

getting there, quality cross. Brilliant header. Kenny Miller does

what he does, and what he has been doing for years. For club and

country. Here is Stokes, up the other end. What an effort! E is

-- he is so unlucky comic hits almost back in front. It is turning

into an incredible game, Stokes music onto his right boot and it is

a great space and it is a decent goalkeeper. How unlucky is that?

Cracks off the post, spins out. But, magnificent effort, the manager

can't believe it. Zelalem for Waghorn who is going to get there.

Only just. It is a bonus, it is a corner kick. And McCain to take.

Miller gets a free header! What a let off for Hibs. Look how much room

Kenny Miller has got, acres of space, he just pulls it off and he

is really unlucky. It is a real dramatic collapse by him burning, as

the season got into its business end in the championship, they lost three

games in a week. They went from winter to spring, including a 3-0

reverse. Struggle to get going since then. Here is Anthony Stokes. Equal

to it this time, it is Wesley Foderingham. I think it is a really

good save, I thought he would go far post again, tries to catch the

goalkeeper near post and he gets a really strong right hand on this.

That is a great save. Here comes the corner. Desperately trying to keep

it in which he has done. For McGregor, now Cummings. Foderingham

again. Suddenly, the pendulum miss winning, it is away from Stokes.

Another chance. Incredible pressure, winning, it is away from Stokes.

Jason Cummings earlier, a chance and again Foderingham got the quick and

smothering his effort. This is Rangers's 199th match, since they

began their route to the top flight in 2012, it began with a cup tie at

Glebe Park. And digital and Lee McCulloch scoring in a 2-1 win. It

was a long, arduous journey for the supporters. This is Martin Waghorn,

it is good play from him. He just slipped out the vital moment. Is he

looking for the decision? I am not sure, he believes that he was

he is trying to claim? Hanlon, Stephenson to Stokes. He has had a

go and he has forced yet another save out of Wes Foderingham! Anthony

Stokes, is in the mood, when he gets the ball there is no thought of what

like that. The referee has got to believe that is reckless and that

gets the header and he should be hitting the target. You do sense

though that Rangers are beginning to get a stranglehold on this.

Certainly possession of the ball, very little for the goalkeeper to

do. But the fact is that every time the ball is in the middle of the

park, Rangers can be eight or nine or ten passes. Hebburn in get it and

possession is given straight-backed possession is given straight-backed

-- he -- Hibernian. Halladay, nice touch

from Halladay. There is nothing that you can do about that! Andy Halliday

puts Rangers in front! That is an absolute fizz, again defensively, he

is trying to take a touch, turn, set it up and what a strike this is.

Plus the goalkeeper, bang, you will not see a better strike than that.

Logan, no chance at all just inside the post, he has got a powerful left

foot, he has got an absolute belter and given Rangers the lead. It is

the 10th goal of the season for Andy Halliday, who is a big Rangers fan.

He has just put them in front in the Scottish Cup final. What a feeling

for him, and what a feeling for Mark Warburton.

Henderson to McGinn. This is Stokes. Loads in the middle here, lovely

play. He scored one but he has missed five other chances. That is

an absolutely must hit target, he does really well to take on James

Tavernier, it is on his stronger side. McGinn finds five E. That just

five E. He teased Wilson into the challenge but he has got his team

into the corner has well. It might challenge but he has got his team

be the best, Fraser Fyvie didn't look like he is going to get to the

byline. 11 minutes left. It is in! It is Stokes again! Anthony Stokes

rescues Hebburn Ian! -- Hibernian. They are right back in this big

Well it has been Stokes's day so far. It is his second of the match,

it is Hibernian second and Rangers 2-2 Hibs. With ten to play. And

Fyvie has got space to operate, he has got Stokes to the left and he

delayed it slightly. Stokes, into injury time.

Wow. It is a decent save, I'm not sure if it was going to go into the

back post but he has struck it well. You imagine being the Hibs player

who scores a hat-trick in the final minute of the Scottish Cup final to

end a 114 year weight. In goes the corner, in goes the goal from David

Gray, 114 years of pain could be about to be brought to a thundering

end here. A stunning moment, in stoppage time. And in one stretch of

the neck muscles, Hebburn in's Scottish Cup pain and misery could

be over. What a touch from the skipper, he has gone up the, he is

brave, he has got his head on it and he has knocked it into the back of

the net. Another decent corner from Henderson and the one who wanted it

most was David Gray, no chance for the goalkeeper and Hibs are now in

pole position to win the cup. Rangers have played their part in

the final but they are very much about to be the sideshow by the

looks of things. All eyes are on Steven MacLean, the referee, do

Rangers have one last chance? No they don't. Ladies and gentlemen,

you are witness to a moment of Scottish sporting history. He Bernie

and have won the Scottish Cup. -- Hibernian have one. 114 years of

torment, heartbreak and suffering. Ten straight Scottish Cup final

defeats, are at an end. It has all got too much for the Hibs

supporters. One of Scottish football's longest standing side

stories has finally reached its conclusion. The last time they won

this trophy, it was the year that Real Madrid were formed. Newton

Heath change their name to Manchester United, the vacuum

cleaner was invented, King Edward VII was Britain's monarch, that is

how long it has been. Generation after generation has suffered. These

are the scenes that the SFA will not want to see. Stokes opened the

scoring, Stokes made it 2-2, and the Hebburn Ian skipper David Gray has

one Hibernian the Scottish Cup. And Alan Stubbs is with Chris

McLaughlin. Congratulations, describe your feelings to me with a

long wait over? It is difficult right now, I thought that the

players were on believable, with the efforts from the start of the game,

and the way that we finished it. They deserve this, they have had

some knocks, but they have had a long, hard season. And you know,

every cloud has a silver lining and today we have a silver lining. An

unbelievable result and what a performance and effort from all of

the staff, the players, I think that we deserved it today. We never gave

up and gave in, everyone questioned the character, and to come back to-

one down and win 3-2. It is just, I'm delighted for the fans and

everyone associated with the club, it has been something, it has been

hanging over their heads for a long time. We have said that all season,

we are so disappointed because we believe that we are good enough to

get out of this league. It just puts to bed that, that we have not got

the character. How many times have we managed to come back, credit to

the lads and it has been amazing. Well, he is the captain and he is

the hero, and his picture, and the rest of the team that he is guiding

up the steps at Hampden. They will now be immortalised in photographs,

paintings that will adorn the Easter Road walls. There is a big banner

over the far side that says time for heroes. These men in green and white

I heroes. -- are heroes. Because the hoodoo is to end all who two is

over. Hibernian have won the Scottish Cup, it is not a dream, it

is a reality! STUDIO: Extraordinary scenes, we will discuss it all,

commiserations to Rangers, but Pat, after 114 years, can you actually

believe it? It is just about sinking in now, we will get to the other

serious stuff later on no doubt but after the game, meeting he Bernie

and fans, -- Hibernian fans, and the recurring theme was that they didn't

think it would see it in their lifetime. I don't know if I would

see it in my lifetime, and we should have two say that sort of phrase.

That is what it means to people, and extraordinary thing to get there,

the relief, and it is relief. There are all sorts of other celebrations

and happiness but to be honest, relief will be top. It was an

incredible day, but fundamentally it was a cracking game wasn't it? It

was a great game of football and we watch the English cup final and it

was nothing like the Scottish one. Great goals, commitment, fireworks,

everything. The any thing missing was a red card, Steven MacLean had a

great game and it was a wonderful occasion. And it got off to a great

start, Anthony Stokes had mixed reviews, it was getting things

started for Hibs? Yes, a good advantage, what he does, your tax

the Rangers goal. And Rob Kiernan wax off and found. He doesn't make

any sort of challenge. He is out of position, here goes Stokes, 20 just

backs. And that allows it really one-on-one. Against Foderingham and

what a great finish it was. Out of his feet into a far corner and what

a start. It was a brilliant start and they never looked back. It

seemed so simple and it was a recurring theme, a carbon copy, and

the end result was a goal? Everybody knows that the two full-backs, and

applaud Rangers for doing that because they are very cavalier.

There is a downside, we were chatting it, you leave a gap. He

comes over, he is a centre-back, he wants to be in a right back

position. Because he's overcompensating going forward, we

were chatting about it. If you are going to get it, you have to have a

set midfield that covers. Handball wasn't the. He would normally go

into the back. Like but the positives, have having Tavernier

bomb forward is that he is such an attacking influence for Rangers as

it proves? Yes he's in that place, for the first time and again he puts

it into the box and that is a magnificent area for Kenny Miller.

Two goals already, it is a good ball in, I think McGregor doesn't expect

Kenny Miller to go across, you does ever so well, Hanlon misses it and

then bang, Logan no chance. It is incredible to think what Kenny

Miller was doing, he was the player, the best player by a good distance.

People thinking last season was his last season, but I think he has got

another season at the. Andy Halliday's strike takes some

beating? Over the past year they have had a lot of goals but I tell

you what, they have had some stunning cracks. You mention the odd

not closing down, forget about that, it is a cup final, he has leathered

the ball in. In the corner. If you are thinking if that goal wins a

Scottish Cup final, deserves to win the Champions League final and what

a hit. After what Hibs have gone through, you can almost see it. The

more tactical changes through the match, Hibs of course started with

3-5- two, yes they were 2-1 down, Henderson came on straightaway,

going to the diamonds and they never looked back, they had a stranglehold

on the game. The Rangers midfielder is all over the place. They did not

track back, and Hibs really got hold of the game. Hibs involved in terms

of the equaliser, a slight push from Anthony Stokes? You are not having

that? Rangers didn't have anybody in front, here's a big hole, a nudge,

thanks very much. Really holding your ground. Putting your head, he

doesn't do that and he pays the price and bang. I did say at the

time Rangers will not survive this, and bang straightaway they conceded

that goal and from that point on there was only one winner.

Absolutely, David Gray proved that to be the case, what a moment for

the captain? A dream moment, in many ways, the 12 players, want more than

anything else to score score that goal. Maybe Stevenson, maybe grey

because of what they did. He was injured moments earlier, that is

just one thing, that is just a Sir, that I want to get the more than

anyone else. And of course, in the 92nd minute and

if Hibernian, if anyone is gated score a late goal, it would be

Rangers. But actually, Hibernian got stronger. That game really deserved

it. It is a goal that will go down in Hibs history, for a player that

has had to go through a lot of agonising throughout the season, he

did it great. Lead by example, he had a great game today. He was

did it great. Lead by example, he inspirational captain? Whether it

was wingback or right back, he did get the injuries. He still ploughs

forward, that was Rangers's best side in the semifinal, you nullified

that pretty well. He came across, and Hibs defended, Rangers really

well. But you see, here is the tackle where he hurt himself. He

drops onto him and he needed a bit of treatment, lucky he didn't go off

because he scored the winner. Nobody in that league, a lot of people

playing in the high leagues even got close. They were brilliant this

season. He did that, not only that as well. He scores that goal. And he

does that, it is almost unbelievable to see a Hibs captain lifting it.

They have gone through a lot of finals. So they know the agony,

today was ecstasy. It is unbelievable, a moment of history,

had Stokes, he has had a lot of critics. It has not quite happen to

him in so many games. You see a lot of people in social media saying,

Celtic a new manager, suddenly Anthony Stokes. Yes you can say

that, also, the fact that he is a big team player. He has turned up

for the big ones. And boy did he turn up for today, he was fabulous.

Look at this, this is just after Rangers scored, straightaway, he

could have gone back. A carbon copy of the first goal. If you listen,

when he came into the Hibs side, it would take six or seven games, but

you needed them one or two games. But in this one, he turned up. You

remember when he's at his best for Celtic, and he was unstoppable for

periods of time, that was right up there. He looks fit and sharp. And

right at the end of the game, we are talking, this is 91st minute, 91

minutes and 30 seconds, looking as lively and sharp as anyone else. I

mean it was fantastic and to give that cynically everything. It was a

big performance. Man of the Match easily. How to re-evaluate his

season, the disappointment of not going up to the Premiership. How do

you sum it up. I don't think these players realise what they have done.

People will not believe it, these players now are heroes and legends,

they are immortal more than anything else. I think that the Hibs fans,

they will take not going up for the fact that they have won the Scottish

Cup. I think at the end of the daily haven't gone up, they have still had

a brilliant season, winning the Scottish Derby cancels everything.

that fact. We saw there was a major pitch invasion at the end, our

and the stewards and everybody, they deserve credit for the professional

way in which they dealt with something which was totally

unexpected, they managed to allow time, for the over exuberance to die

down and get everyone back in the seats to allow the thing to take

place. You see over exuberance but Rangers

are saying some of their players were assaulted. That is quite

serious? Yes, I haven't heard that. That is serious. That is something

nothing at the club would condone would have wanted. We have an

operational plan that involves all of the parties involved staging the

event. Police Scotland, the FA, Hampden Park, and the company

involved in security. Finally, as this embarrassing for Scottish

football this evening? Yes, this is embarrassing. A showpiece match of

football that will no be member for appalling scenes at the end of this

senior football reporter Chris Maclachlan. What is the latest on

this followed on the pitch invasion? Jonathan, a police investigation is

underway and that will have to happen before anything else. The

police will be poring over the ditch, speaking to eyewitnesses, and

you would expect in the next few days and weeks there will be a few

knocks at a few doors. After that there will be a wider investigation

with all those involved putting this event on today, Police Scotland, the

Scottish FA, G4S, both clubs, divided what went round doing wrong

and why. This was a category C game, high-risk match, everyone knew there

was a potential for a pitch invasion. There were hundreds of

police and stewards on hand. So the big question will be why. Was there

more to it than over exuberance, and what punishment do you think Hibs

can expect? That remains to be seen and will all depend on the

independent judicial panel set up by the SFA themselves. Yes, I imagine

that Hibs will be well aware they could be in hot water over this. The

other issue is of course that the Scottish FA are ultimately

responsible for the Scottish Cup itself. The problem is that they are

very unlikely to punish themselves. Pat, this will obviously overshadow

what was a historic day for Hibs football club? Climate yes, to some

degree. The reason was that -- for it is that there was a lot of

tension, older frustration -- yes, it will to some degree. The

frustration, the Hundred years waiting, that is reason but not an

excuse. It is inexcusable to do that. Especially because there was

violence on the field as well. You get a lot more people running onto

the field knowing games. We have seen it done in England are bit. It

is just not acceptable, and the violence towards the Rangers players

and staff and the violence between the fans, in excuse above. What

should have been the sunniest day in the fans, in excuse above. What

head history, on that, it certainly leaves the cloud. Chris, thank you

had the best relationship over the years, but today when that final

whistle went tell me what the emotions were? -- Hibs and the

Salatic cup. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park my dad supported Hibs for his

whole life and never saw them win the Scottish Cup. -- my dad

supported Hibs for his whole life. Unfortunately I could not make it a

hand in today because it was my daughter's first birthday. Will hold

it against her for the rest of really? I will counter as a lucky

mascot! I came away from America, arrived on Thursday morning. It has

been a long day, but definitely the best year of my life. What did you

do when David Gray scored that header right at the end? I loved it.

I was cheering down the stairs and all that. Everything else, it

doesn't matter. This has happened. We could have won the Championship

and it could have taken another ten seasons to take this. Head will be

back up next year. Naumoff heartache as head go down and this team go

down as the heroes who brought this trophy to Easter Road. I am sure the

celebrations will go on long into the night. Fantastic scenes and

these are the headlines for the export pages tomorrow. Hampton's

the Hibees. Another thing we have to remember, Pat, is not only have the

won the Scottish Cup. They are in Europe as well! Yes, and whether

they will be ready not is another thing. They will have to be changes.

It could have been a horrendously painful season but for a cup that

has got to the League Cup final, to get to the brink of getting up as

well. That was tough, but to win the get to the brink of getting up as

Scottish Cup. That is a phenomenal season for that group of players,

and then to have Europe on top of that as well. There's so much to

celebrate for those Hibs fans and hopefully they enjoy that made him

tomorrow. It could be a very short summer holiday for them with their

first European tie on the 14th of July. In terms of Rangers, how would

you sum up Mark Warburton's season, Manager of the Year, Ridgers

honestly willing to macro visas well. It has stubby very good for

them. -- two -- Rangers obviously winning two trophies as well. He

will have to add a few players for the Premiership next season. They

were out of juice, not enough substitutes. He has had a good

season. I am sure they will be fantastic for the Premiership. He

will get some good players to come on because players will know what to

be with Rangers back at the big time. Could this be the catalyst for

Hibs pixies and? Will Alan Stubbs be there next season? I think every

Hibs fan would like it -- -- could this be the catalyst for Hibs? I

hope they can the basis of that squad together. I would hope Alan

Stubbs is drawing something right now because he can make that team

quite special. Really excited already about next season. He should

have a headache for the next two days. I have a sore face because I

have not stopped smiling, actually. Thank you very much indeed. That is
