Good evening. Six people were arrested and three police officers

were injured after the Bristol Rovers match yesterday which saw

them relegated from the football league. Several hundred fans ran

onto the pitch after the final whistle following their 1`0 defeat

anger for some Bristol Rovers fans, the enormity of their team's defeat

news that Rovers rivals werd winning. They threw everythhng at

the opposition in the second half, knowing just one goal would keep

them up, but it never came `s the referee called time on their 94

radical changes at Bristol Rovers but the club is adamant the new

stadium won't be one of thel. All aspects of the stadium are not just

geared for football. That is not linked to the football club and the

stadium would go ahead. Whatever the consequences of relegation `re, it's

Cheltenham ahead early on, they failed to pick up a point,

eventually going down 3`2 against Dagenham. Things were no better for

Swindon Town, who lost their final game of the season 2`1 against

Rotherham. The only side to pick up a point was Bristol City who fought

back at Crawley Town to sectre a 1`1 draw.

Bristol Rugby's hopes of cl`iming the British and Irish Cup h`ve been

dashed by Leeds. The hosts went down 25`30 at the Memorial Staditm, their

Talking of pride, there's bden a buzz about Bristol today th`nks to

the 90`metre slide set up on Park Street. It was part of the city s

Make Sunday Special initiathve, as Lizzie Way reports.

Everyone loves a slide. Well, in Bristol, 96,000 people definatly do.

That's how many applied for just 360 places to ride this 90 ft slide

running down Park Street. It was all the idea of artist Luke Jerram. I am

interested in getting peopld to think about the city in a ndw way.

Imagine if there were permanent slides installed around cithes as a

way of commuting to work. Wouldn't it be fun? It was surreal. Surreal

is the correct word. He was sliding down a very busy road. It w`s fun to

accelerate. It caused not jtst a lot of fun but a lot of interest. We

have been through hard times and now is the time to start celebr`ting

Bristol for everybody and bring great attention to the city across

the world. And if you didn't have a go, Points West presenter Alex

Lovell filmed her ride on the slide for our Facebook page. Who would not

like to do it? Although I h`d a few crashes, it was an amazing

experience. There are four lore Sunday events planned for Bristol.

The idea is to create a gre`t atmosphere and fun. Mission

around. In the east we will have warm, hazy sunshine. In the west we

will have the biggest cloud. Tonight, there will be some rain

across parts of Scotland. The rain easing across Northern Ireland. For

many will be a dry night. For many across the south it will be cold.

Maybe not quite as cold as last night. We should start with quite a

bit of sunshine across central and eastern areas. The sunshine will

turn quite hazy of the cloud spills in from the west. The wind is also
