A court in Pakistan has issted an arrest warrant for the mtm

and sister of a Bradford wolan who died in July.

It's thought Samia Shahid was the victim of an honour killing.

Her husband and father are already in custody.

28-year-old Samia Shahid, a beautician from Bradford,

died whilst visiting relatives in Pakistan in July.

Initially, it was claimed she'd died of a heart attack,

but a postmortem test later confirmed she'd been strangled.

Her second husband, Mukhtar Kazim, said she'd been killed

because her family disapproved of their marriage.

Today in Pakistan, Samia's first husband and her father made

a further appearance in court in connection with her death,

although no charges have yet been brought.

The court has now issued formal arrest warrants

for Imtiaz BiBi and Madiha Shahid, Samia's mother and sister, who are

The women have already been identified by the court

as proclaimed offenders, meaning they're suspected

There was no reply at the Shahid home this afternoon when I knocked

The family have always denidd any involvement in Samia's death.

Meanwhile, the local MP, Naz Shah, has called

on the family to cooperate with authorities in Pakistan.

The arrest warrants haven't come as a shock because we've already

been aware that the Pakistani authorities wanted to questhon both

What I would really welcome is the family making

themselves available to assist with the inquiry,

to make sure that justice is served for Samia.

If the women travel to Pakistan they will be arrested.

No extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and the UK so it

could be several months before any formal action takes place.

Further tributes have been paid to a schoolboy from South Yorkshire

who died in a garden shed fhre earlier this week.

The teenager, named locally as 13-year-old Jack Sheldon,

died in the fire in Campsall near Doncaster on Thursday dvening.

Police and fire investigators are still trying to establish

the cause of the tragedy and have yet to formally identify thd body.

A 19-year-old man has pleaddd guilty to an arson attack that caused half

a million pounds worth of d`mage to a nursery in Sheffield.

Elliott Hague from Beighton appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday

and admitted to causing the fire at Bizzy Bees Nursery last November.

The fire spread to the school, causing extensive damage.

The nursery has recently reopened after months of restoration work.

Football, and in the Championship, Barnsley drew with Bristol City

There was defeat for Sheffield Wednesday away at Derby

and an absolute trouncing for Huddersfield at

Rotherham drew with Ipswich and Leeds United continued

their unbeaten run with a 2,0 victory against Burton.

In League One, Bradford Citx came from behind for a 3-2

And another win for on-form Sheffield United -

they beat MK Dons 2-1 at Bramall Lane.

In League Two, Doncaster drdw 2-2 against Wycombe.

And another draw in the National League -

home side York drew 2-2 with Sutton United.

Rugby, and it was a nail-biting Four Nations opener

at the John Smith Stadium ending in narrow defeat for the England

side captained by former Bradford Bull star Sam Burgdss.

The first points went to England, with two well-struck

penalties from Gareth Widdop, but the first tries

Jordan Rapana and Shaun Johnson going over either side of h`lf-time.

Homeboy Jermaine McGillvary put England back in the game,

briefly, before Rapana went over for a second.

A try by Ryan Hall and a conversion by Widdop made it all squard before

Johnson's late drop-goal won it for New Zealand.

A cloudy night to come overnight tonight.

It should stay largely dry, though, and we could still see a cotple

of clear spells where some pockets of mist and fog may well form,

but it's going to be quite a mild night.

Temperatures rurally dropping to around eight or nine,

but towns and cities staying in the double figures.

A mild start the day tomorrow, and a cloudy one.

I think it will be a slowly improving picture and we

should see some breaks and brighter spells at times.

Still feeling rather mild, `ctually quite warm when we see the sun,

with temperatures of around 13 or 14 Celsius.

cloudy but certainly very mild day. In fact where we did see sunshine

breaking through, in Hull for instance, temperatures rose as high

as 19 degrees, more typical of the middle of August and late October.

Things remaining mild and largely dry down to this big area of high

pressure really dominating the weather. Bringing light winds. Still

a lot of ploughed through this evening and overnight. A few spots

of drizzle coming out of the cloud, three central parts of England and

Wales. Scattered showers towards the far north-west of Scotland and

Northern Ireland. Where we see clear spells we the seat missed. Locally

dense fog patches especially across parts of the south-east of England

and East Anglia.
