Welcome to the film review on BBC News. We go through this week's

cinema releases. We have got Summer in February

which is a period drama set in Cornwall in 1913. It features than

Stevens from Downton Abbey. And then there is Man of Steel, the

Superman epic. The rebid of the saga. It features a British actor,

Henry Cavill, for the first time in the lead role as Superman. Then we

look at stuck in lava which is an American indie comedy drama which

has a man who is stuck in that love with his ex-wife -- Stuck in Love.

Summer in February is nice and gentle.

Wouldn't it be nice? It is set on the Cornish coast in 1913. Some

great actors in this. Based on the diaries of a man called Gilvec

Evans who was very much in love with a young woman in an artist's

colony. We will look at when they My God! What are you doing here

expect? I asked and they said you would be here. This is my sister,

Florence. This is one of your party's? We love a party. This is

Laura. A famous painter. Very famous. This is her husband, Harold.

The nice to meet you. This is one of our models. If they ask nicely.

This is my dearest friend, a captain. How do you do? How do you

do? Gilvec. Please. Come and get warm. We do what we like and we say

what we like. You were a soldier? Some of the time. And the rest of

the time, you do and say what you like?

One of the reviews I've read a seemed to say that while the

performances were fine, the script is a bland.

It is very exposition area. It is not particularly interesting. It

should be. It was about a bohemian artists' colony. It gets more and

more drab and more melancholy towards the end. It is tragic. He

does from a frivolous insight into an artist's' colony we should be

fascinating to being very plodding. A TV director worked on this and it

feels very small screen. Cornwall is beautiful. I'm a big

fan of Cornwall. The performances are great. Dominic Cooper is good

as Alfred Mining's who was a bit of a cad in his day. He is romancing

Florence what Gilvec hop -- hovers in the sidelines awkwardly. It is

worth seeing if you worried than of period drama.

A matter what else you have, without a decent script, if all you

can do is introduce everybody so that the fake audience and knows

what's going on, it is awkward. It is based on the diaries of I

person named Gilvec and it is from his perspective and he did not know

what is going on in the head of Florence. He never learned why she

is making these bizarre decisions. You get less sympathetic as the

film moves on. Let us move on to man in steel --

Man of Steel. They tried to reboot the sick man

franchise at the years ago and now Man of Steel is back with a lot of

money and a lot of affects -- Superman. You have some people.

This is very representative of the film. You have a lot of action. You

have a lot of soul-searching and serious Origin staff from

Christopher Norland. We begin at the beginning. On Krypton. We go

down to earth way he wrestles with his demons.

We have the dying planet of Krypton. The good thing about Superman

movies is that we all know the basic story so we just have to

watch the action. E C Clark Kent? Are which there were more of that

stuff. That is being mooted. He's a drifter at the beginning. He drifts

from town to town trying to remain anonymous rather unsuccessfully.

He's a super hero. He is also enormous.

He is painting bathrooms? Oil rigs.

Amy Adams is great as Lois Lane. She is trying to track him down but

when the mate -- they meet him, there is a disappointment. Not a

lot of romance. Destruction but not...

A very accomplished movie in a lot of ways. Fantastic scenes but my

pulse was not quickened. You should be excited by this may be but I was

not. Stuck in Love is an American movie.

A great cast. A writer with right of what has problems with his

children and he bumps into his wife after three years and realises

thing recently. Someone else asked you to stop hanging around their

house at night? About moving on with my life. He was that?Do you

know Patricia? She lives about 1.5 miles down the beach. I remember

her. Yeah. I always suspected you had a crush on her. She is very

pretty. She is very married. You seen her? I think that I'm a good

way for her to kill an hour after she drops the kids off after school.

An hour? And Alan! So she thinks you need to stop moping around as

well. Something like that. Is this supposed to be funny? I am just not

getting it. It is like one of those senior

academics at operas because there is little stuff like having a

writer who raises his children to be writers and pays them 30 doesn't

have to do jobs. That is a big thrust of it. -- so he doesn't. It

has has aspirations to... It would be clever to have a film

about a writer without writer's block. If you are a writer, you

write it. That is how you make money.

It is a so-so in the film. A good cast and it is lovely to see

Jennifer Connelly. It seems that everyone was scripted by the same

person. A Your Best Of the Week is Behind

the Candelabra. Everyone I know who has seen it has loved it.

Michael Douglas is fantastic as Liberace and a great spot from Matt

Damon. It moves from hysterical to tragic and it is an electable.

There is a surreal world. They have a real relationship with real

relationship problems. There is It is promised on a big joke that

people did not understand that Liberace was possibly day.

A mind that for as much? As possible. Especially when he

surrounds himself with so much glamour and glitter.

Zero Dark Thirty is a wonderful film.

A good chance to see. If you have not seen it yet, this is one film

you should see. Kathryn Bigelow and the rest were very restrained. It

is a gripping film even if you know the outcome.

It was a work-in-progress, because the hunt for Osama Bin Laden was

film. The controversy about it was the question of the torture scenes

which are difficult to watch. Some people were very offended.

I have seen more offensive things on television. I have seen at 24.

It was not controversial in my view. It tells stories in a

straightforward way and allows you to make your own mind.
