Welcome to the Film Review. To take us through this week's releases,

:00:28.:00:34.

Jason Solomons. We'd go off to Sonny Greece, for the sunshine and

:00:34.:00:39.

the last in the series. We pick up with one of Cinema's longest

:00:39.:00:49.

ongoing romance has. -- romances. The then we go back to Manchester

:00:49.:00:57.

of the 1990s, to view it through the Stone Roses' tinted spectacles.

:00:57.:01:07.
:01:07.:01:10.

Finally, Crown -- can Brad Pitt save the world from zombies? Before

:01:10.:01:15.

Midnight is your first choice. is. Richard Lynch lake began one of

:01:15.:01:21.

cinema's longest, most drawn-out trilogies. -- Richard Linklater. It

:01:21.:01:25.

started in Before Sunrise. They wander around Vienna, walking,

:01:25.:01:32.

talking, falling in love. They were in their 20s. In 2004, they picked

:01:32.:01:37.

up in their 30s. They talked around Paris and fell in love. Did they or

:01:38.:01:42.

didn't they? We do not know. We pick up 20 years on from the

:01:42.:01:47.

beginning in Before Midnight. We are in Greece. They are walking and

:01:47.:01:57.
:01:57.:02:01.

We could spend another of the years to get there. What would you like

:02:01.:02:06.

to change? That is another one of your can't win questions. I am not

:02:06.:02:12.

answering that. What do you mean? There is nothing you want to change

:02:12.:02:21.

about me? I am perfect? It would be for you to stop trying to change me.

:02:21.:02:27.

I am on to you. I know how you work. You think? I know everything about

:02:27.:02:35.

you. I know you better than I know anybody else on the planet. Right

:02:35.:02:44.

now? This is great, I feel close to you. But sometimes I do not know. I

:02:44.:02:48.

feel you are breathing helium and not oxygen. What makes you say

:02:49.:02:54.

that? That is a joke.If we are ever going to truly know one

:02:55.:02:58.

another, we have to get to know ourselves better first.

:02:58.:03:04.

Greece looks nice. A very nice. I am an English

:03:04.:03:09.

teacher in school when we did Romeo and Juliet, and he said the trouble

:03:09.:03:15.

is, everybody is my cues you to everybody else's Romeo and Juliet.

:03:15.:03:20.

It is very much, nothing happens. If you accept that all life is

:03:20.:03:26.

there. One walks with one's partner, one IT is with one's partner over

:03:26.:03:32.

the stupidest things. Is that interesting? Do we get enough of

:03:32.:03:38.

this at home? Do we need to see other people argue about the things

:03:38.:03:43.

that we argue about? I think with the skill of this, we do. You had

:03:43.:03:47.

become invested. You foist your own feelings on to the mirror of the

:03:47.:03:53.

screen. You think, I had done that before, I am with her, I am with

:03:53.:04:00.

him. Do not ID back, that is going to send him or her off. There is an

:04:00.:04:04.

amazing week creation of reality. Some of my favourite movies I'd

:04:04.:04:08.

just that simple, people walking around amazing places, talking and

:04:08.:04:14.

falling in love. Do you think many people will be walking around and

:04:14.:04:19.

be it woman says, let's go and see that, and the bloke goes, let's go

:04:19.:04:25.

see World War Z. There is enough bloke in this. He is quite blowy

:04:25.:04:31.

Gish. We can argue about it for hours. -- quite a bloke.

:04:31.:04:37.

So bike Ireland? The Stone Roses, the British Film Industry, their

:04:37.:04:40.

pension funds had been rather swollen by their tours, but they

:04:40.:04:45.

had been doing festivals as well. They have also had two films made

:04:45.:04:51.

about them. Shane Meadows had a documentary the other week. It was

:04:51.:04:56.

caught Made Of Stone. Spike Island is a new British coming of age

:04:56.:05:01.

comedy about four lads in Manchester trying to get into their

:05:01.:05:07.

heroes' famous dig. It is just outside witness. A less romantic

:05:07.:05:13.

spot one cannot imagine. However, they want to desperately get in to

:05:13.:05:17.

see their idols at work and jump over the fence and get in there and

:05:17.:05:23.

see this mythical concept. I rather like this film. It catches the

:05:23.:05:28.

jades of youth, the kind of fine wine has with one's mates. The film

:05:28.:05:34.

is very good when the boy sat together bantering. Emilia Clarke

:05:34.:05:40.

is in this. She is rather road. It is all about that kind of coming

:05:40.:05:44.

together, having a laugh with your friends. The less successful part

:05:44.:05:48.

is when they try to depend the characters' back stories, give them

:05:48.:05:56.

a sick parent or a brother. A go to the concert, have a laugh, and

:05:56.:06:04.

recreate the 90s. You do not have do like the Stone Roses. You do not

:06:04.:06:09.

have to like them. It is just a mythical concept. You have to live

:06:09.:06:12.

through the 90s and have some friends, and I think a lot of

:06:12.:06:17.

people had done that. The big film of feet week must be

:06:17.:06:27.
:06:27.:06:28.

World War Z. It seems to be a priggish rubbish title. -- pretty.

:06:28.:06:35.

I still manage to say he's dead. I am sticking with the said. The BBC

:06:35.:06:38.

pronunciation unit had had in camera session... I do not know

:06:38.:06:45.

what they decided. It is based on a novel which I am

:06:45.:06:54.

assuming was called World War Z. It stands for zombie. It is no longer

:06:54.:07:00.

a zebra, but for zombie. Everyone is a zombie. Can Brad Pitt saved

:07:00.:07:10.
:07:10.:07:20.

us? DSE can. He is a movie star. -- He says you were his best

:07:20.:07:28.

investigator out when you were at the UN. Find whatever he needs to

:07:28.:07:33.

stop unwanted the circumstances to be different. Cannot help you.

:07:33.:07:38.

Cannot leave my family. Take a look around. Each and every one of these

:07:38.:07:43.

people are here because they serve a purpose. There is no room here

:07:43.:07:47.

for non-essential personnel. You want to help your family, let's

:07:47.:07:52.

figure out how we stop this. It is your joy is.

:07:52.:07:58.

I read one review which shed this is the Newsnight of some the films.

:07:58.:08:03.

-- zombie. Shorn of the dead was a great

:08:03.:08:11.

zombie film. How can you recover from a film like that, which

:08:11.:08:17.

pastiches to the genre so well? To make a serious attempt? It is not

:08:17.:08:23.

zombies that are kind of lurching, they are fast, flesh-eating zombies.

:08:23.:08:27.

They are voracious in their appetite. I do not know what is on

:08:27.:08:34.

the members are supposed to do. -- zombie movies. George Romero had it

:08:34.:08:40.

as consumerism but we are owed their that. Brad Pitt is too famous

:08:40.:08:45.

to be eaten by zombies. He's the most famous picture -- person in

:08:45.:08:51.

the picture by miles. This is the only big blockbuster to have its

:08:51.:08:53.

climax in the World Health Organisation headquarters in

:08:53.:08:59.

Cardiff. That is how exciting this film is. I quite enjoyed it. Some

:08:59.:09:06.

of the action sequences are quite good. And Brad Pitt is a fabulous

:09:06.:09:16.
:09:16.:09:16.

actor. He is it that handsome, call, action movie star. -- cool. Leave

:09:16.:09:21.

these zombies are a bit stupid actually. You want a better class

:09:21.:09:27.

of zombie? I think intelligent zombies would be good. The world

:09:27.:09:31.

has been overrun by this. There are pockets of survivors and they want

:09:32.:09:37.

to get back to their family. It is corny, it is cheesy, it is World

:09:37.:09:42.

War Z. Behind The Candelabra, I have not

:09:42.:09:45.

seen it, but everybody who has seen it Lancet.

:09:45.:09:52.

A good performance by Michael Douglas. A good performance by Matt

:09:52.:09:57.

Damon as well. In the shadow of Liberace. It is a good fun story

:09:57.:10:02.

that has a kind of sadness which is about prosthetics and cocaine and

:10:02.:10:08.

the 70s. You DVD choice, Hitchcock. I loved

:10:08.:10:12.

it. I thought Anthony Hopkins was great in it. Helen Mirren was

:10:12.:10:17.

terrific as his wife. I think it is a great film about

:10:17.:10:23.

making movies. It is about Alfred Hitchcock making Psycho. It is

:10:23.:10:29.

really playful about the movies. He does not really look like Hitchcock,

:10:29.:10:34.

but at the end you believe that he is. It has a playful, Sunday

:10:34.:10:39.
