Hello, and welcome to a secret hideout.

I've had a fantastic day full of adventures.

Look, I found this rock.

I collect rocks and fossils,

and this will be perfect for my collection.

I'll just put this in here, and... Hang on a minute!

That's not a rock.

Oh! It's Colin the tortoise.

How did you get in there?

Oh, Andy, this place is a mess!

All right, all right -

I'll just pop you down, then I'll tidy up.

All right...

I think I'd better stay out of the way.

Sometimes I think I'm the only sensible one here.

Oh...

I'm sorry about all this.

Now, most tortoises take a really long time

to do pretty much anything - but they don't mind that,

cos they live for a really long time,

so, they're in no rush at all.

In fact, it's thought giant tortoises like these ones

might live for over 200 years.

Being well protected by their big, hard shells,

they don't have many predators to worry about,

so they just take things slow.

YAWN!

No wonder tortoises move so slow,

with such heavy shells on their back.

Oof! And other animals don't mind slowing things down, either.

Come on, Colin.

How very dare you?!

Sloths sleep for up to 15 hours a day,

and move so slowly that other creatures can actually grow on them.

But looking a bit dirty and barely moving

can help you blend in to the trees around you,

so it can act a bit like a camouflage,

meaning you can spend your time...

sleeping and eating.

Lucky sloths.

And the smaller you are, the longer it can take to get around -

but being small doesn't mean you're not fast.

Would you like to be a super speedy beast? A record-breaker?

I know, I know -

but the common garden snail is the fastest snail recorded.

You've probably got a few record-breakers

in your own neighbourhood, too.

They use the muscles in their foot

to glide along on a trail of slime.

It might seem slow to us in our big human scale,

but they're so small that if you ask them,

they'd probably say that they were moving pretty quickly -

particularly when he catches a lift on Colin's back.

Woohoo!

This is like a rollercoaster ride!

Oh, he thinks he's so funny.

Woohoo!

Call that a shell?

Whee!
