You'll never guess where I've just been.

Oh, sorry. Welcome to my secret hideout.

Shall I tell you where I've been?

Well... Oh! HONK!

Ow! What's this?

Ah-ha-ha!

It's a boomerang.

This is a clue as to where I've been.

Any ideas?

Australia! That's right!

Australia is such a beautiful and strange place.

Because all the animals have been stranded on the island

for millions of years, they've become quite different to anything

else in the world. Ow! CRASH!

Ooh...

I forgot that boomerangs come back to you when you throw them.

Right, I must remember not to throw this again.

Hey, what's that? WHOOSH!

It's a sugar glider.

Now, these beautiful creatures are often found in trees.

And they have a rather clever trick up their big baggy sleeves.

To get between the trees without having to climb down again,

they jump out into the air and spread their legs to reveal

big flaps of skin that act like wings.

They can glide on the wind for over 50m -

that's around half the length of a football pitch -

which means they can avoid any animals on the ground

trying to eat them.

And it also means they can jump very quickly from tree to tree,

or from bed to me.

Come on.

BOING! Oop! There we go.

Come on.

You can have a play in the hideout.

They're not the only Aussie oddballs.

Just look at kangaroos.

Australia is such a big hot place,

they need to be able to get around quickly

without using too much energy.

So, they hop.

BOING! BOING! BOING!

Oh, strewth, this sand is hot.

Ooh! Ow! Eek! Ooh!

Aren't they amazing?

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH Ow!

CRASH! Oooooh!

Kangaroos and sugar gliders are mammals, just like you and me.

But the females have pouches where they keep their babies,

so they are put into a group called marsupials.

When I was in Australia, I used my gizmo to shrink myself down

and I jumped in one, too.

Whoa! Kip's right!

This really is bouncier than a bouncy castle,

but just as fun!

Do you want to be like a marsupial, too?

-AUDIENCE:

-Yay!

-It's really easy.

All you need is a bedsheet or a towel, or even a blanket.

Great.

Now, you might need a grown-up to help you do this.

First of all, spread the sheet out like this

and put it in front of you.

And we're going to fold it over...

like so.

Pick your sheet up and put it behind you.

This is the part you might need a grown-up to help you with,

but try and do it on your own.

Bring the two ends in together, screw them both up and make a knot.

Then turn it around and all you need is a toy.

I've got Roo and her baby here.

There we go.

One marsupial pouch.

BOING! BOING! BOING!

I think that's enough being a marsupial for one day.

Right then, Roo.

You and your baby can go play.

It's tough work being a marsupial.

Better watch out, Andy.
