This is my good friend, Kai. He's a giraffe.

In the wild, it's really useful for giraffes to have long necks

because it helps them reach their favourite food -

leaves, high up at the top of the trees.

'Have you remembered I'm showing some very important visitors

'around the park today, so I'll want everything spotlessly clean.

'It's not just the animals I want to look clean,

I've almost finished with the giraffes' enclosure.

I'm just making the final tweaks to my new invention.

I've never seen anything quite so exciting.

and everything it sucks up, it keeps here.

Yeah, and it looks like I should use it on you, Andy.

How did you get so dirty?

Well, getting dirty is all part of the job

when you're a park keeper, Kip.

Ah, well, that's why you like it so much.

Do you know, Kip, that some animals

actually like being covered in dust too?

Ugh! I certainly don't!

No, but elephants do.

Would you like to see some covered head-to-toe in dirt?

Wow, would I!

Well in that case, we need to go to one of the dustiest places on earth,

somewhere were there are massive swirling clouds of dust.

What, your bedroom?

No, Kip, it's even dustier than that.

We're going to Kenya in Africa!

Oh!

Now, a lot of the country is really hot and dusty

but that's where we'll find massive elephants

because elephants love dust.

Brilliant!

And if it's really hot,

I can try out my new super-duper vacuum cooler to keep cool.

What are we waiting for? Time to go on a wild adventure!

Woo-hoo! Come on, let's go.

We are in Kenya.

There are all sorts of amazing animals that live here.

Oh, look, there are some giraffes down there just like Kai!

Andy, the Cat-Nav is showing that we're getting near the elephants

and it says elephants are the biggest walking animals on earth.

That's right, Kip.

In fact, they're so big I can already see them down there. Look!

Oh, wow! They're huge!

I can't wait to get a closer look.

The elephants look even bigger than you now, Andy.

Wait until we get even closer, Kip,

then you'll see how big they really are.

They're huge!

They can be twice as big as me.

Actually, Andy, it's a bit too hot for me out here in the sun

I think I'll just stay here in the Kip-Mobile.

Wow, just look at the size of these elephants!

They've got really long trunks

that they use for picking things up, eating and drinking.

Ah!

I think that baby elephant needs some practice.

Elephants can also use their trunks to make a great trumpeting sound

to say hello or help find each other.

They sometimes trumpet when they're cross too.

Well, it is really hot here.

I could do with getting some shade.

Look at that baby elephant.

It's keeping out of the sun by walking under its mum.

That gives me a great idea!

Great! Now let's find some shade.

Hey, Kip, how's things over there? I hope you're not too hot!

It looks like you've found plenty of ways to keep cool in the sun, Kip.

Yes, but I never thought of standing under an elephant to get some shade.

Elephants have another amazing way to protect themselves from the sun.

Take a look at this...

Wow! They're blowing dust all over themselves!

That's right, Kip. Elephants love covering themselves in dust.

It protects them from the sun, just like sunscreen.

It also stops the elephants getting bitten by insects.

Ah! Amazing!

But I think I'll stick to sunscreen.

Mr Pickles and his guests are visiting later and I need to look...
