and I work here at Pickles Animal Park.

This is Aggie, the agama lizard.

I'm talking quietly because she's quite shy.

You all right in there?

Oh, good.

Now, agama lizards come from Africa where it's warm.

They're cold-blooded so need to lie in the sun to keep warm.

But here at the Animal Park,

we use special heat lamps and I've just changed hers. How's that?

# I can feel the heat tonight

# And it feels real nice... #

'Come in, Andy. Andy, come in. Over.'

Oh, that's Mr Pickles, my boss.

Hello, Mr Pickles, Andy here, receiving you loud and clear. Over.

'Hello, Andy, I was wondering if you could do me a favour.

'I passed the penguins and the cooling system

'in their enclosure's broken down.

'D'you think you could find something to cool them?'

No problem, I'll head to the workshop and find something. Over.

I'm cleaning out the cupboards.

I've been so busy with my inventions,

I've hardly spent any time cleaning.

But now, I have the perfect solution.

You press the button, the fan turns

and the dust and cobwebs get blown away in the breeze!

-What? This little thing does all of that?

Let me have a go, all right.

-So, what have you been up to?

-This morning,

I've been to see Aggie the agama.

-I changed the bulbs on her heat lamps.

-Agama?

What's an agama?

Agamas are coloured lizards and they live all over the world.

You find them in the morning, in the sun.

They do that to heat themselves up for the rest of the day.

I know how it feels. There's nothing cats like more

than curling up in the sun and having a catnap. Ah!

Well, you're not the only one.

-We aren't?

-No.

Lots of animals love basking in the sun.

-Tortoises, chameleons...

-Humans!

Humans, yes.

In fact, in the rivers of Africa,

there are great big hippos. They take time out

to lay in the sun. And when they do,

they wear their own suncream. It's amazing!

Hippos, covering themselves in suncream?

I'd love to see that!

You know what this sounds like?

ALL: Time to go on a wild adventure!

We get to see sunbathing hippos!

Cos we'll get dusty in Africa, we can take my cupboard cleaner!

Ha-ha-ha! Ha-ha! Oh, so, where to, Andy?

A country called Zambia, in Africa.

That's where we'll find our huge sunbathing hippos.

-Right on the banks of the Luangwa River.

-Zambia, here we come!

Go, cat nav, go!

Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho!

Oh, well, that's the Luangwa River below us, Andy. Ha-ha!

I don't see any hippos yet.

That's because we are over the shallow part.

Hippos like deep water, so they can completely disappear into it.

Oh, look! There's some down there!

Some?! Well, there are hundreds of them! And they're big too.

Big? They're HUGE!

They can grow over four metres long.

But that's twice as long as the Kipmobile.

They can weight more than four tonnes,

-which is almost the same as an elephant.

-GULP!

Just as a matter of interest, Andy, what exactly do they eat?

Don't worry, they're vegetarians, which means they only eat plants.

Phew!

But they're still the most dangerous animals in Africa.

Gulp!

Er, well, erm...

maybe somewhere a little further away from the river would be best.

Come on then, Kip. Let's go.

Actually, you know what, Andy?

I don't think I should leave the Kipmobile here -

especially if those huge hippos are around.

They might, erm...squash the Kipmobile.

Oh, I didn't think of that. OK, well, you stay here then.

Well, I finally found my way back to the river.

And look, there are hippos EVERYWHERE!

Ah, look at them all relaxing in the water.

They're trying to keep their skin out of the sun.

Wow, look at these guys.

They're not relaxing, they're fighting for space in the water.

Phwoar, I told you they were huge!

Especially this guy at the end, he's the biggest of them all.

Anyone trying to wrestle with him is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Oh, here they go!

Oh, would you look at the teeth on that!

Oh, look...

the small one's running off now.

Wow, look how fast he is.

You wouldn't think it, hippos can run really fast. Faster than humans.

I'd like to find hippos that are sunbathing, not fighting. Come on.

Now, the thing to remember about hippos

is never come between them and water

because water is where they feel safe.

Maybe I'll shrink down to the size of these birds.

They're called oxpeckers.

Yes, that's a good idea. Then I can get nice and close.

Oxpeckers climb on hippos and they don't mind.

That's what I'll do.

Size of an oxpecker.

Here I go!

Perfect, now I can get really close

and we'll see the hippos making their own suncream. Come on.

Hello, you enjoying your rest?

Oh, how's this for getting close, eh?

Now I'm the size of an oxpecker

I can move on the hippos without bothering them,

just like they do.

Look at THIS! This is incredible!

They're eating bugs off the hippos. It's a perfect partnership

because they get some food and the hippos get a good clean!

Ha-ha, you enjoying that?

Oh, right.

Excuse me.

Whoa! Whoa!

This is exactly what I wanted to show you!

This is the suncream that the hippos make.

It covers their whole body and it protects them from the sun -

it's incredible, isn't it?

Oh, that reminds me, actually. I'd better put some suncream on.

Get this off.

Right.

Ah! Huh? I'll have that for tea later.

Ah, here we go!

'Andy, is everything all right?'

Ah, hi, Kip.

Me and the hippos have got sun cream on now but it's ROASTING!

I wish there was a breeze to cool us down.

Then why don't you use my Cool Cat Cupboard Cleaner?
