What? Oh, no! Mum, all my paintings are ruined.

-The rain has spoilt it all.

All my paintings are gone and everyone will laugh at me.

-What's happened?

It's all your fault. You said I should do an exhibition.

I should have never believed you.

Oh, Bella, I'm sure it wasn't anyone's fault.

But they're all ruined.

And everyone will come by and see nothing on the floor but rubbish.

It's OK to be upset. You spent a lot of time on those paintings.

This kind of reminds me of something that happened a long time ago.

When I was a little girl, I used to be a helper for my uncle,

who was a famous village scientist.

He built crazy machines that did incredible,

but not very useful, things.

Once, he built a machine that he hoped could create colourful clouds.

He was very happy with his creation.

I wasn't sure it would ever work, and he never got to find out.

My uncle became so sad and upset that his machine didn't work,

he went on a very, very long walk.

He walked and walked until he arrived in a village that had

no electricity and no water.

Suddenly, my uncle had a great idea.

He took the scrap from his broken invention and built

a windmill to help pump water.

That machine never changed the colour of the clouds,

but it did bring a lot of joy and happiness to the village.

And that made my uncle very happy indeed.

Wow. Cool story.

To invent, sometimes you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.

I get it.

We can use our imagination to create something useful out of

something useless.

Exactly.

Grandma Zainab, I think your uncle's story has gave me a good idea.
