'I'm Ricky. I live in Bristol.

0:00:030:00:06

'I work as an animator, which is lucky, cos I love art.'

0:00:060:00:09

Goal! 'I live for art.

0:00:090:00:11

'I even dream of art.

0:00:110:00:13

'I draw...

0:00:130:00:14

'I paint...

0:00:140:00:16

'I make things!'

0:00:160:00:17

Nailed it.

0:00:170:00:18

'I hang out with my mates...'

0:00:200:00:21

-Go, Art Ninja!

-'..Gavin, Michelle, Rich...'

0:00:210:00:24

-Yeah!

-'..and Sarah.'

0:00:240:00:25

It's me!

0:00:250:00:26

'Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:260:00:29

'Some people call me the...'

0:00:290:00:31

Today, I'll show you how to make some noise

0:00:340:00:36

with this tidy bit of kit.

0:00:360:00:39

You'll be Matisse-d with this cool bowl.

0:00:390:00:42

Matisse!

0:00:420:00:43

And we shed some light on a pile of old rubbish.

0:00:430:00:48

Because today, it's...

0:00:480:00:49

It's a new day.

0:00:560:00:58

I'd better get my ninja on.

0:00:580:01:01

And my clothes!

0:01:010:01:02

I don't just have ninja art skills.

0:01:230:01:25

I also make a mean cuppa.

0:01:250:01:26

Oh, I like this one.

0:01:280:01:29

MUSIC: Cold Water by Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber and Mo

0:01:290:01:31

Oh, song's ending.

0:01:310:01:33

-RADIO:

-Well, hi, this is WLBTRM FM.

0:01:330:01:36

-Thanks for that.

-You're welcome!

0:01:360:01:39

And it's the day you've all been waiting for.

0:01:390:01:41

The auditions for Bristol's Got Skills.

0:01:410:01:45

And me, Gav, Sarah and Rich are all going along to watch!

0:01:450:01:49

It's a real shame they've been cancelled.

0:01:490:01:51

Gutted!

0:01:530:01:54

The plans for my big day out, eliminated!

0:01:540:01:57

I'll see if I can drum up the others so we can do something else.

0:02:000:02:03

Drum up!

0:02:030:02:05

That's given me an idea for...

0:02:050:02:07

The Art Ninja drum kit desk tidy!

0:02:070:02:11

Here's some food containers I've been saving.

0:02:110:02:14

And I'm going to paint this one purple.

0:02:140:02:16

Got some paint here, and I'm going to mix it with PVA.

0:02:160:02:20

Right, just mix that in.

0:02:200:02:22

That's half glue, half paint.

0:02:220:02:24

This just means the paint's going to stick better to the containers,

0:02:240:02:27

and gives it a nice, glossy finish.

0:02:270:02:28

There we go.

0:02:350:02:36

Now that's dry, I'm going to give it a bit of detail.

0:02:380:02:41

I've got some lovely silver paint.

0:02:410:02:43

I'm going to get a minuscule amount of paint on my brush.

0:02:430:02:46

Most of it off.

0:02:460:02:48

And then just loosely get some paint around it.

0:02:480:02:52

This technique is called dry brushing,

0:02:520:02:53

and it means you get a finish where you can see both types of paint.

0:02:530:02:56

And as I'm using silver paint here,

0:02:560:02:58

it gives the drums a nice sheen.

0:02:580:03:01

There we go. I think that's looking pretty awesome.

0:03:010:03:04

Hmm. Now, I should paint the rest.

0:03:040:03:07

But let's face it, I'm the Art Ninja.

0:03:070:03:09

Sweet!

0:03:100:03:12

Now I need to give the lids a similar treatment.

0:03:120:03:16

Ninja skills.

0:03:160:03:17

So what I've done is I've painted the rims silver

0:03:170:03:19

and the inside white so they look like drum skins.

0:03:190:03:22

And this extra lid here, I've painted with gold paint,

0:03:220:03:25

and that's going to be my cymbal.

0:03:250:03:26

All right, they're starting to look like drums now.

0:03:260:03:29

But I need some stands.

0:03:290:03:30

So I'm going to start with my cymbal.

0:03:300:03:32

So I've pre-cut three strips of silver card,

0:03:320:03:34

which I'm going to tape together and bend to make into a stand.

0:03:340:03:37

Now I can stick that to the underside of my cymbal.

0:03:380:03:41

And I'm going to fold these pieces out

0:03:440:03:46

and back to meet in the middle to make the bottom of the stand.

0:03:460:03:49

I've used the same technique for the tom-tom,

0:03:510:03:53

but this one's a little shorter.

0:03:530:03:55

There we go.

0:03:550:03:56

I need a stand for the bass drum now.

0:03:560:03:58

So I've got another strip of card.

0:03:580:04:00

I've made a little valley for it to sit in.

0:04:000:04:02

So stick those bits together there. There we go.

0:04:020:04:05

Yeah, perfect.

0:04:070:04:09

And now for the other tom-tom,

0:04:090:04:10

I'm using some silver-painted lolly sticks,

0:04:100:04:12

and I'm going to stick them around

0:04:120:04:14

with a bit of double-sided sticky tape.

0:04:140:04:16

Sweet!

0:04:170:04:18

And finally, my snare.

0:04:200:04:21

I'm going to put that on top of my bass drum

0:04:210:04:24

with a bit of double-sided sticky.

0:04:240:04:25

It's looking like a pretty good drum kit.

0:04:250:04:27

But I think it could do with jazzing up a bit.

0:04:270:04:29

So I've cut out some stars from some tinfoil,

0:04:290:04:32

and I'm going to stick them on with a bit of glue stick.

0:04:320:04:35

Now, on the bass drum, I'm going to put an Art Ninja sticker.

0:04:390:04:42

But you can put maybe a picture of your favourite band,

0:04:420:04:45

or your own design.

0:04:450:04:47

Now to put my drum kit on a stage.

0:04:470:04:49

So I've cut out a cool, jazzy piece of card, given it a bit of glitter.

0:04:510:04:54

Assemble it here, ready for a gig.

0:04:540:04:57

And it is a desk tidy, so I'm going to tidy up some of my things.

0:04:570:05:00

Check it out! Drum roll, please.

0:05:030:05:05

Very tidy!

0:05:090:05:10

You don't have to make a drum kit.

0:05:100:05:12

You can try your hand at toxic waste.

0:05:120:05:15

That's not such a WASTE of space.

0:05:150:05:18

Or how about a BOOTYFUL pirate treasure chest?

0:05:180:05:21

Arr, me hearties!

0:05:210:05:23

Wow, I'm getting really good sound out of this.

0:05:260:05:28

KNOCKING Oh, it's the door.

0:05:280:05:31

-Hi, Gav.

-It's a bad day, mate.

0:05:340:05:36

Bristol's Got Skills has been cancelled!

0:05:360:05:38

That was my only chance!

0:05:380:05:40

-SAD MUSIC PLAYS

-Now it's gone.

0:05:400:05:42

Goodbye, hopes and dreams.

0:05:420:05:44

That's it, it's over!

0:05:440:05:46

Or... MUSIC SCREECHES TO A HALT

0:05:460:05:47

We could do a new talent show called - and wait for this...

0:05:470:05:51

My Mate's Got Talent!

0:05:510:05:53

And I can be a judge.

0:05:530:05:56

-Awesome!

-And you can organise it all.

0:05:560:05:58

Wow, thanks, Ricky!

0:05:580:06:00

Gavin was very animated.

0:06:020:06:05

A bit like this picture.

0:06:050:06:06

That's when we did the, uh, vacuum cleaners.

0:06:060:06:09

-That didn't SUCK.

-Nah.

0:06:090:06:11

That's when me and Gavin wore the same thing.

0:06:110:06:14

What's this?

0:06:140:06:15

Oh, that's the one from the future where we transformed into robots!

0:06:150:06:18

What?

0:06:180:06:19

-What was that?

-Don't worry, mate, it's just an animation.

0:06:230:06:26

Oh, and it had loads of this.

0:06:260:06:29

No, no, no. It was more like this.

0:06:290:06:31

So to make this cool robo animation, you'll need...

0:06:320:06:35

A photo of your friends.

0:06:350:06:36

Some paint or some correction fluid.

0:06:360:06:38

Some pens. A tablet or smartphone with animation app.

0:06:380:06:41

And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:06:410:06:44

Ninja move number one.

0:06:440:06:45

You need to take a picture of you and your friend.

0:06:450:06:47

So, I'm going to set it to timer.

0:06:470:06:49

Strike a robo pose!

0:06:510:06:53

Sweet. Now we need to print it out.

0:06:550:06:57

Ninja move number two.

0:07:000:07:01

One of the good things to do is to stick down your picture,

0:07:010:07:03

because you don't want it to move.

0:07:030:07:05

And now I can start animating.

0:07:050:07:07

And I want the separate robot parts to come in one after the other.

0:07:070:07:09

Because if they all come in at once,

0:07:090:07:11

don't really get much of a cool effect.

0:07:110:07:12

But if they come in gradually, it looks way more epic.

0:07:120:07:15

I'm using correction fluid, just because it dries quicker -

0:07:150:07:18

it means I can draw on it straightaway.

0:07:180:07:20

Let's start by taking the first frame.

0:07:200:07:21

Right, I think I'm going to start with mine and Richard's waist.

0:07:210:07:25

I'm going to have the pieces sort of slide round...like that.

0:07:250:07:28

Now, just with a normal roller ball,

0:07:280:07:30

I start putting in a little bit of detail.

0:07:300:07:32

You can sharpen up the lines,

0:07:320:07:34

because it kind of scratches away where it's a little bit loose.

0:07:340:07:36

It doesn't matter if it's rough,

0:07:360:07:38

because it's going to happen so quick.

0:07:380:07:40

All right. Take my second frame. CAMERA CLICKS

0:07:400:07:42

And I can just paint over the top of that again

0:07:420:07:44

with the correction fluid.

0:07:440:07:46

And I'm just repeating this over and over again

0:07:460:07:49

until we are all armoured up.

0:07:490:07:52

Take a frame every time you add more detail.

0:07:520:07:55

Let your imagination go wild,

0:07:550:07:57

with whatever outfits you want to wear.

0:07:570:08:00

Ninja move number three.

0:08:010:08:02

I've shot all my frames on my tablet device.

0:08:020:08:05

But now, to add something extra cool,

0:08:050:08:07

I'm going to do some sound effects.

0:08:070:08:08

Just try and find some interesting stuff from around the house

0:08:080:08:11

that you can record to make cool sound effects.

0:08:110:08:13

WHIRRING So I've got my frames shot,

0:08:130:08:16

I've added some really cool sound effects that I recorded myself.

0:08:160:08:18

I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:08:180:08:21

BANG

0:08:260:08:28

Oh, yes! What do you think, Rich? I think it's pretty good.

0:08:280:08:30

Yeah. But is it as good as this?

0:08:300:08:32

HE MIMICS ROBOTIC NOISES

0:08:320:08:36

KNOCKING ON DOOR

0:08:400:08:42

-Ah. Hi, Gav.

-Hello, Ricky.

0:08:420:08:44

I'm here about the venue for My Mate's Got Talent.

0:08:440:08:47

-So where is it?

-Your lounge!

0:08:470:08:49

Wait...no, wait...!

0:08:490:08:51

DRILLING AND CRASHING

0:08:510:08:53

-What are you doing?

-It's called show business.

0:08:530:08:56

You'll see.

0:08:560:08:58

CRASHING

0:08:580:09:01

While Gav crashes around,

0:09:010:09:03

here's a quick art tip of how to draw someone dancing.

0:09:030:09:06

So I'm going to start with her face.

0:09:060:09:08

A bit to the side. Pop her ear in.

0:09:080:09:10

Her hair's going to be all flowing around, like this.

0:09:120:09:16

Nice big happy face, cos you're happy when you're dancing.

0:09:160:09:19

And then she's going to be all bunched up like this,

0:09:190:09:21

sort of pushed to the side. So not a neck here,

0:09:210:09:22

not from this perspective.

0:09:220:09:24

And she's thrown her weight out one way at the top.

0:09:290:09:31

And her legs are going to be flicking out to the other side.

0:09:310:09:34

So, one leg up.

0:09:340:09:36

And the other one slightly further down.

0:09:360:09:39

And then, cos she's all full of energy and jumping about,

0:09:390:09:42

we can add a couple of motion lines.

0:09:420:09:46

And so she's really feeling the music,

0:09:460:09:48

I'm going to pop in a couple of musical notes.

0:09:480:09:52

There you go. Another quick art tip.

0:09:560:09:59

Ah, Ricky.

0:10:100:10:11

The other judges are ready, and the show's about to start.

0:10:110:10:14

-So, on my cue...

-Hang on.

0:10:140:10:16

What am I...? What am I doing?

0:10:160:10:18

APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:10:180:10:20

-VOICEOVER:

-Welcome to My Mate's Got Talent.

0:10:200:10:23

It's time to meet the mates.

0:10:230:10:24

But first, please welcome your judges.

0:10:240:10:27

It's the nation's sweetheart, Rikky,

0:10:270:10:30

spelt with two Ks.

0:10:300:10:32

Next up, it's famous boyband manager, Bristol's Mr Nasty,

0:10:320:10:36

Rick-E.

0:10:360:10:38

And finally, it's the actual Art Ninja himself, Ricky!

0:10:380:10:43

-Tonight's first contestant, Sarah!

-APPLAUSE

0:10:470:10:51

Hi. I'm so excited to be here.

0:10:540:10:56

I've wanted to do this my entire life.

0:10:560:10:58

I know everyone says that, and I just can't wait...

0:10:580:11:00

-Talent?

-AUDIENCE GASPS

0:11:000:11:02

Erm, today, Rickys, I'm going to be singing.

0:11:020:11:05

Take your time, pet.

0:11:090:11:10

# La-la-la-la-la

0:11:130:11:16

# La-la-la-la-la

0:11:160:11:20

# La-la-la-la! #

0:11:200:11:22

Rubbish.

0:11:270:11:29

BUZZER

0:11:290:11:32

APPLAUSE

0:11:320:11:34

While we wait for Gavin's next contestant on My Mate's Got Talent,

0:11:380:11:41

I'm going to make art using a bowl inspired by my mate,

0:11:410:11:44

French artist Matisse.

0:11:440:11:46

Ah, ha-ha! Bonjour, Ricky.

0:11:460:11:50

I didn't need talent shows.

0:11:500:11:52

I was one of the stars of modern art.

0:11:520:11:55

I was famous for my use of colour.

0:11:550:11:58

And I also made sculptures later on, when I was sick.

0:11:580:12:02

When he says sick, he means not very well.

0:12:020:12:05

Not sick as in awesome!

0:12:050:12:07

Although he was that too.

0:12:070:12:09

Yes. When I was sick,

0:12:090:12:11

I would sit in my bed and cut shapes from painted papers

0:12:110:12:15

and arrange them into compositions.

0:12:150:12:18

Well, your art certainly struck a chord with me!

0:12:180:12:21

Struck a chord. Cheers, Matisse.

0:12:210:12:23

A bientot.

0:12:230:12:25

Right, to start with, I've got myself some coloured card

0:12:260:12:29

and I'm going to doodle some fun shapes.

0:12:290:12:32

Kind of inspired in my mind by seaweed.

0:12:320:12:35

And Matisse. You can do whatever shapes you like.

0:12:350:12:38

Slightly bigger one on this pink one.

0:12:380:12:39

Now I'm going to cut those out.

0:12:440:12:46

There we go.

0:12:520:12:54

Now, to make my bowl, I'll need lots of these.

0:12:540:12:58

So I'll ninja myself some more.

0:12:580:13:00

Ninja skills!

0:13:020:13:04

Let's gather these together.

0:13:040:13:06

Great. Keep my bowl here.

0:13:060:13:09

And I'm going to give it a layer of cling wrap.

0:13:090:13:11

Make sure you give your bowl a good coverage.

0:13:110:13:14

The cling wrap will help you remove your card bowl later.

0:13:140:13:18

Lovely.

0:13:180:13:20

A little trick here is to hold the bowl away

0:13:200:13:22

from the table with something,

0:13:220:13:23

so I'm just going to use a plant pot.

0:13:230:13:25

That means when I can stick stuff to the edges,

0:13:250:13:27

I get a little bit of overhang.

0:13:270:13:28

Now I've got some glue and water mix -

0:13:280:13:30

that's three parts glue, one part water -

0:13:300:13:32

and I'm going to start sticking my shapes to the bowl.

0:13:320:13:34

There we go.

0:13:360:13:37

I'm starting from the very top of the bowl

0:13:390:13:41

and working back down to the bottom.

0:13:410:13:42

This way, the shapes overlap in the nicest possible way.

0:13:420:13:45

And I'm making sure that my shapes overlap each other.

0:13:480:13:51

And don't worry if this looks a bit messy,

0:13:510:13:53

because the glue dries clear.

0:13:530:13:55

Now I'm going to go and do another layer of further up,

0:13:550:13:57

towards the bottom of the bowl.

0:13:570:13:58

And that's going to overlap the first one.

0:13:580:14:00

If you're doing this at home, you'll probably need

0:14:000:14:02

to put some paper down to protect the art table.

0:14:020:14:04

But the art table is made for this kind of action.

0:14:040:14:06

I'm painting over the top of my shapes,

0:14:060:14:08

just to keep them all nicely stuck together.

0:14:080:14:10

And because they're overlapping,

0:14:100:14:12

it means that my final bowl will be nice and solid.

0:14:120:14:15

Just going to add on some blue triangles here,

0:14:150:14:17

to give it a bit more colour contrast.

0:14:170:14:19

One there.

0:14:190:14:21

Now, I'm not going to wait for this to dry.

0:14:210:14:23

I'm going to use some ninja skills.

0:14:230:14:25

Check it out! Now I need to remove it.

0:14:270:14:29

And the trick there is to get a ruler between my bowl

0:14:290:14:32

and the cling wrap.

0:14:320:14:34

Ah, yes!

0:14:370:14:39

Wow!

0:14:430:14:44

You can make a bowl using any shapes you like.

0:14:490:14:51

How about this one made from cut-out dogs?

0:14:510:14:54

Or acrobatic break dancers.

0:14:540:14:57

If Matisse had stuck around, he'd be BOWLED over by that.

0:14:570:15:01

TELEPHONE RINGS

0:15:010:15:02

BEEP

0:15:020:15:04

'Hi, Ricky! It's your mum.

0:15:040:15:06

'I heard you're putting on a talent show.

0:15:060:15:08

'I like twerking.

0:15:080:15:10

'But also on the bill today...

0:15:100:15:11

'..jumping Jack puppets...'

0:15:120:15:14

Wow!

0:15:140:15:16

'..home-made party poppers...

0:15:160:15:18

'..and shadow art that certainly isn't rubbish.

0:15:200:15:23

'Anyway, I've got to go to work.

0:15:250:15:27

'Not to twerk.'

0:15:270:15:29

Phew! Now where's Gavin?

0:15:290:15:31

Ricky, Ricky, Ricky!

0:15:310:15:34

Let's see what my ninja apprentices have to test my talent.

0:15:340:15:37

Can you make art with leftover paint tubes?

0:15:370:15:40

I'd only make a mess. And I've got enough of that already.

0:15:400:15:44

Ricky! Ricky Rickster.

0:15:440:15:47

Hey, it's Mark and Lauren from the Dengineers.

0:15:470:15:49

Do you think you can make something out of a spade?

0:15:490:15:52

-No, that's a strange idea.

-Oh!

0:15:520:15:54

I think they'd better SHOVEL off.

0:15:540:15:56

What have these guys got?

0:15:580:16:00

Ricky, can you make art with split pins?

0:16:000:16:04

Cool, I choose you!

0:16:040:16:06

-BOTH:

-Yay!

0:16:060:16:08

-So what are your names?

-I'm Trixie.

-And I'm Kieran.

0:16:080:16:12

-Nice. And where are you from?

-Burnley.

0:16:120:16:14

I'm going to make something that won't SPLIT the talent show judges.

0:16:140:16:17

I'll go and grab my things.

0:16:170:16:20

So I've got a little bit of sticky tack.

0:16:200:16:22

Some modelling clay.

0:16:220:16:25

A pencil that I'm going to pop in my pot.

0:16:250:16:28

Little bit of string.

0:16:280:16:29

A couple of lovely shocked pictures of Sarah.

0:16:290:16:32

You need two pictures, exactly the same.

0:16:320:16:35

Love it.

0:16:350:16:36

A couple of pieces of card.

0:16:360:16:38

And, of course, trusty split pins.

0:16:380:16:41

I'm going to start by sticking these two pictures of Sarah to some card,

0:16:410:16:44

just to make it more rigid.

0:16:440:16:45

So, today, we're having a little bit of a talent show here.

0:16:450:16:48

Do you guys have any talents?

0:16:480:16:49

-Well, we're both really good at singing.

-Oh!

-Yeah.

0:16:490:16:53

And I do a lot of drama and gymnastics.

0:16:530:16:57

Can you act at being ninjas?

0:16:570:16:59

You got a ninja pose for me?

0:16:590:17:01

That's pretty intense. Nearly blew me off my seat.

0:17:010:17:03

Definitely got ninja skills.

0:17:030:17:05

Just going to stick down my second picture of Sarah to the card.

0:17:050:17:07

I'm going to start now by cutting out Sarah's body and her head.

0:17:070:17:10

There we go.

0:17:150:17:16

And now I'm going to cut out her arms and legs

0:17:160:17:18

from the other picture.

0:17:180:17:20

When I'm cutting out Sarah's arm,

0:17:200:17:21

I've made a really large circle at the top,

0:17:210:17:23

because that's going to work like a hinge.

0:17:230:17:25

I'm going to cut out Sarah's legs in the same way.

0:17:250:17:28

There we go.

0:17:280:17:29

I've cut out Sarah's body parts.

0:17:290:17:31

And now I'm going to make some holes to put her back together.

0:17:310:17:34

I'm going to put a piece of modelling clay down

0:17:340:17:36

so I don't mark the table.

0:17:360:17:37

And using my pencil, I'm going to poke a hole through.

0:17:370:17:41

Du-du! Now I need to move on to the legs.

0:17:430:17:46

There we go. Now I'm going to make more holes in the arms and legs.

0:17:470:17:50

These need to be one centimetre above the first holes I made.

0:17:500:17:54

Right, I'm just going to put the split pins in,

0:17:540:17:56

just to check that I've got Sarah made up in the right way.

0:17:560:17:59

There you go, popped her back together.

0:18:010:18:03

It's pretty good, but it's going to get even better.

0:18:030:18:05

Cos I'm going to make Sarah into a puppet.

0:18:050:18:07

Just going to turn it back over,

0:18:070:18:08

cos I'm going to tie a bit of string on so that I can control Sarah.

0:18:080:18:11

First, I'm going to take the arm off

0:18:110:18:12

and thread the string through the top hole.

0:18:120:18:15

Then I'm going to put the other end of the string

0:18:150:18:16

through the hole on the other arm.

0:18:160:18:19

Tie a little knot here.

0:18:190:18:20

Now I'm going to attach the arms back to the body with split pins,

0:18:200:18:23

and tie a knot on each end of the string.

0:18:230:18:26

Snip this bit.

0:18:260:18:27

And I'm going to do the same thing

0:18:280:18:30

between the holes on the legs as well.

0:18:300:18:33

Let's go through that one.

0:18:330:18:34

And finally, I'm going to attach another piece of string.

0:18:360:18:39

This time, I'm tying it to the middle of the string

0:18:390:18:41

that connects the arms and the piece that connects the legs.

0:18:410:18:45

-It looks good, Ricky.

-Thanks, guys!

0:18:450:18:47

Got a lovely printed background for her.

0:18:470:18:49

Just going to hold her head down with a little bit of sticky tack.

0:18:490:18:52

-Now, you guys ready to see it?

-Yeah!

0:18:520:18:54

Because I've turned Sarah into a split pin puppet.

0:18:540:18:58

-Woo!

-Wow!

0:18:590:19:01

Woo! Woo!

0:19:010:19:04

Do you know what? I think it's so good, it deserves a frame.

0:19:040:19:06

There we go.

0:19:060:19:09

So what mark would you give it?

0:19:090:19:10

We give it a...

0:19:100:19:13

Oh, wow, you've got me jumping for joy with that!

0:19:130:19:15

Thanks very much, guys, it was a great suggestion.

0:19:150:19:18

-Bye-bye!

-Bye, Ricky!

0:19:180:19:20

-VOICEOVER:

-It's our next contestant, Rich!

0:19:260:19:30

-What's your talent?

-Today, Rickys, I'll be performing...

0:19:300:19:33

-..magic!

-AUDIENCE OOHS

0:19:350:19:37

Now, this, I've got to see.

0:19:370:19:40

Prepare to be razzle-dazzled by Raheem,

0:19:400:19:42

the incredible disappearing rabbit.

0:19:420:19:44

But first, to ensure the spell is not broken, close your eyes.

0:19:440:19:49

AUDIENCE OOHS

0:19:490:19:52

Alakazam! Abraca-rabbit!

0:19:540:19:57

Bunny offski!

0:19:570:19:58

Sorry, pet. Maybe next year.

0:20:050:20:07

BUZZER

0:20:070:20:09

Ommm...

0:20:160:20:19

Now, this guy truly has talent. It's the Grand Master.

0:20:190:20:22

Ommm... Wha!

0:20:220:20:25

Whoa. I'm OK, man.

0:20:250:20:26

Greetings, dude!

0:20:280:20:30

Now that's a showbiz entrance.

0:20:300:20:33

Step number ten to enlightenment.

0:20:330:20:36

Confetti-spreading vessels for much celebration!

0:20:370:20:41

-Party poppers.

-Let's go!

0:20:430:20:46

Grab a paper party cup.

0:20:460:20:49

Push out the end...

0:20:490:20:51

and tear it off!

0:20:510:20:54

Get a balloon and tie a knot in the end.

0:20:560:20:59

Cut the end of the balloon.

0:21:010:21:04

Stretch it!

0:21:040:21:06

Careful, dudes. You don't want to...

0:21:060:21:08

Ow.

0:21:100:21:12

Stretch the balloon over the cup.

0:21:120:21:14

Get some strips of coloured card and cut them into tiny bits.

0:21:160:21:21

There you go, dudes!

0:21:240:21:26

Party central!

0:21:260:21:28

Lesson ten complete.

0:21:280:21:30

Lesson ten, very Zen.

0:21:310:21:34

-Pull and shoot.

-CHEERING

0:21:340:21:37

Whoa!

0:21:370:21:39

-Not so Zen.

-You are most welcome.

0:21:390:21:43

Ommm...

0:21:440:21:46

-VOICEOVER:

-Today's final act, Gavin!

0:21:500:21:53

So what's your...talent?

0:21:550:21:58

Synchronised swimming!

0:21:580:22:00

Without any water? AUDIENCE LAUGHS

0:22:000:22:03

MUSIC: Bolero by Maurice Ravel

0:22:050:22:09

Stop, stop, stop! MUSIC STOPS

0:22:170:22:19

Sorry, Gav.

0:22:190:22:21

That was all very "unique".

0:22:210:22:23

But my lounge is getting trashed! AUDIENCE AWWS

0:22:230:22:27

So for that reason...

0:22:270:22:29

The winner of My Mate's Got Talent is...

0:22:330:22:36

Gavin!

0:22:360:22:38

I'd like to thank my mum, Tom Daley, the ocean,

0:22:400:22:44

the majestic cuttlefish.

0:22:440:22:47

The fifth Earl of Leicester.

0:22:470:22:48

That wall. Oh, these flowers!

0:22:480:22:51

OK, Gav. Congrats, you won.

0:22:510:22:54

But you need to clear something up for me.

0:22:540:22:57

Sure, what's that?

0:22:570:22:58

This mess.

0:22:580:23:00

Grab the clock.

0:23:000:23:01

Good job!

0:23:080:23:09

And now I've got an idea of some amazing art we can make

0:23:090:23:12

with all of this rubbish.

0:23:120:23:13

Give Sarah a call, will you?

0:23:130:23:15

And, Gav, get out of that bizarre outfit.

0:23:170:23:20

Ninja skills!

0:23:290:23:31

CRASHING

0:23:310:23:34

Oops. Gavin?

0:23:340:23:35

Gav! Oh, Gavin.

0:23:350:23:37

Look at the mess you've made.

0:23:370:23:39

Now pick up all this rubbish and bring it over here.

0:23:390:23:41

We're going to need the plastic, the cardboard and the wrapping.

0:23:410:23:44

Rapping!

0:23:440:23:46

-HE RAPS:

-# Yo, yo

0:23:490:23:50

# My name's Gavin and I'm no fool

0:23:500:23:53

# But when it comes to rapping, I am cool

0:23:530:23:55

# What? What? #

0:23:550:23:56

MUSIC SCREECHES TO A HALT What?

0:23:560:23:58

Gav, I hate to tell you this, mate, but the talent show's over.

0:23:580:24:02

And I meant WRAPPING!

0:24:020:24:04

Not rapping.

0:24:040:24:05

-Sorry, guys.

-Very good, Gavin. Very good.

0:24:070:24:10

-Really?

-Why've you got us here anyway, Ricky?

0:24:100:24:12

We're going to do...

0:24:120:24:14

ECHOING: epic art!

0:24:140:24:16

-That's a bit freaky, Ricky.

-Don't be afraid, Gavin -

0:24:160:24:18

the shadows are our friends.

0:24:180:24:20

And now we're all here, do you know what time it is?

0:24:200:24:24

Time to get our ninja on.

0:24:240:24:26

Art Ninja!

0:24:310:24:34

Art Ninja?

0:24:340:24:35

Guys, that was rubbish.

0:24:350:24:37

-GAVIN AND SARAH:

-Art Ninja!

-Yeah.

0:24:370:24:39

So, where's the canvas?

0:24:410:24:43

The wall is our canvas, Gavin, have you learned nothing?

0:24:450:24:48

Enough of that trash talk, you two. If the wall is our canvas,

0:24:480:24:50

where are our materials?

0:24:500:24:52

Well, this lot, obviously.

0:24:520:24:53

And we're going to need the ladders. Sarah, grab that one.

0:24:530:24:55

Gav, help me with this one.

0:24:550:24:58

-There we go, onto the pallets.

-OK.

0:24:580:25:00

Let's get some rubbish!

0:25:000:25:02

Sarah, help me with this.

0:25:020:25:04

POPPING

0:25:060:25:09

Er, guys? This art isn't going to make itself.

0:25:090:25:12

-Yeah, these bubbles aren't going to pop themselves.

-Good point.

0:25:120:25:16

Roll me.

0:25:170:25:19

POPPING

0:25:190:25:21

Right. We've got some strange appendages to make.

0:25:210:25:24

So, first up... Yeah, we need to stuff that in

0:25:240:25:26

and get this good piece of garden equipment popped in there.

0:25:260:25:29

-You can hold it in place by stuffing in that bit of foam.

-OK.

0:25:290:25:32

-Yeah, that's good. How you getting on, Gav?

-Yeah, all right.

0:25:320:25:35

There's a black bucket with some sponges and stuff on.

0:25:350:25:37

Cool. Pop it on.

0:25:400:25:41

Let's just line up this one here. Take it slowly.

0:25:430:25:46

DRILLING

0:25:460:25:48

And then tie the rope around it to hold it in place.

0:25:480:25:51

I mean, it's certainly starting to take shape,

0:25:540:25:57

but I'm just not sure what that shape is.

0:25:570:25:59

Don't worry, Sarah, the art will soon emerge from the light.

0:25:590:26:03

OK.

0:26:030:26:05

Aww, thanks, mate. I didn't know you cared.

0:26:070:26:10

-I don't. They're for the sculpture.

-Oh.

0:26:100:26:12

-Here?

-That's it, just slide it on there, the face facing me.

-OK.

0:26:190:26:22

Sweet, mate, nice one.

0:26:220:26:23

And that is it.

0:26:230:26:27

Now all we need is one last bit of ninja skills

0:26:270:26:29

and all will be revealed.

0:26:290:26:31

Check out these two sick ballroom dancers.

0:26:340:26:37

That, mate, is definitely not rubbish.

0:26:380:26:41

That's a wrap. Shall we?

0:26:450:26:47

STRICTLY COME DANCING THEME PLAYS

0:26:470:26:50

That's a RAP.

0:26:530:26:55

-HE RAPS:

-# When it comes to art, it's fun that I'm having

0:26:550:26:57

# Last name Strange First name Gavin. #

0:26:570:27:00

Well, that wraps up the day.

0:27:080:27:10

Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:100:27:13

Even if your mates are a couple of chancers,

0:27:130:27:16

they can still help you make sick ballroom dancers.

0:27:160:27:20

Their talents were... interesting, though.

0:27:200:27:23

Particularly Gavin in his synchronised swimming gear.

0:27:230:27:26

Urgh, I hope I never have to see that again.
