Lord's cricket ground in London.
Known throughout the land as the spiritual home of cricket.
Over its 200 year history,
the greatest players in the world have taken to its
iconic pitch to play in some of the sport's most famous matches.
So what better place to show the world my cricket skills?
Uh... What better place to beat Radzi with another skills challenge!
Today, we'll be taking on the noble art of bowling.
Modern cricketers can bowl a ball down the pitch at almost 100 mph.
To try and get top level batsmen out, they'll have to be fast,
clever and incredibly accurate.
And these are their number one target. The wicket, or the stumps.
But they're not easy to hit. They're just over 20 metres away
and measure in at roughly 70 centimetres by 20 centimetres,
and that's the challenge we're going to be taking on today.
Linds, how hard can it be?
-Have a go, then!
-That's a lot harder than it looks.
-You were terrible.
-D'you know what I think would help?
-We need some good kit.
-Good point! Let's get changed.
MUSIC: Theme from Test Match Special
Yeah! This is more like it.
-Clothes didn't help, did they? They've made us worse.
We need help.
Craig and Jamie Overton are professional bowlers
who've both recently been called up to the England squad.
The brothers could become the first ever twins to play for England.
With Craig being just three minutes older than Jamie,
there's a bit of sibling rivalry between them.
Which is handy
as they'll each coach one of us as we go head-to-head!
We'll get five balls each to try to try and hit the wickets
as many times as possible.
Better get started then!
Right. I need all the help I can get,
so what are your top tips on how to be a good bowler?
Basically, all you have to do is run in straight.
Use your front arm to make sure it's going
towards the target. Roll your arm over as close as you can
to your ear, and that's all you can do really.
And then with this arm, follow-through past your leg.
You're getting closer to the stumps. You're not hitting the side-nets
-I hate the stumps.
I think Rads will do very well and hopefully win the competition.
He's gone very nicely. He's actually swung a ball,
which is quite impressive for someone
who's not played that much cricket, but he looks in good form.
I think she can win if she gets a couple of hits
and Radzi goes a little bit off-bowl,
then she's definitely got a chance, yeah.
So, this is it.
Five balls to take home the Blue Peter cricketing crown.
Yes! I love crowns.
No, Radzi. There's not an actual crown up for grabs.
Anyway, I'm up first.
Lindsey and I will take turns to aim for that tricky wicket.
I'm feeling the pressure... and it shows.
OK. My turn.
In practice, I didn't hit one.
But, can I raise my game for the big event?
Ah! Not quite, but I'm close which is a good sign.
-That was a good effort, wasn't it?
So it's 0-0.
-And I missed my second ball as well!
-Are you all right?
But it doesn't matter because so do I.
RADZI BLOWS A RASPBERRY
My third ball just misses!
Was that my chance?
This is it! I can feel it.
I've got a good feeling about this one.
Ah! Maybe not.
And the less said about the fourth balls the better.
Will anyone hit the wicket today?
So, this is it.
My last ball and I've got one chance left.
Look at that!
Right down the middle.
So, the pressure is on. Hit and I and I take it to sudden death,
Miss and Radzi wins.
But, it wasn't meant to be.
Oh, yeah! That's a win for Radzi. Come on!
Radz, it pains me to say that you are the winner.
It was disappointing to lose, but congratulations.
If you ever need me for the England team, just give me a call.
I'm always available, because I mean, it's something I... Guys?
That's awkward, isn't it? Because...
