Lately, we've been having a brilliant time on Blue Peter.
We've had exciting challenges, amazing competitions
and incredible live moments.
But what happened when we showed highlights to some BP fans?
-Time to find out.
We start with the challenge that I thought I'd BEE great at.
The beard of bees.
I'm terrified of bees.
-Imagine just having a thousand bees on you, like a beard.
-And then they all stung you. You'd be, like, "Argh!"
Ian wants me to touch the bees with my hand...
Oh, I'm shaking so much!
..so I can get used to the feeling of them on my skin.
-Would you be able to do it, Grace?
Ian takes the queen and ties her around my chin.
-I couldn't do this.
-Neither could I.
As the bees start coming across onto my face,
I'm feeling more and more uneasy.
-She's going to get stung!
-She probably will be.
Oh! Ow! I've been stung.
Once one bee has stung, it sends a signal to all the others
that they're in danger.
And then I'm stung for a second time.
Ian steps in to call it off.
That's a good idea.
At least I'm not afraid of bees any more.
And from jaw-stinging to jaw-dropping,
Barney went to meet freestyle scooter pro, Jamie Hull,
to try and learn the basics.
Luckily, he was fine, and Jamie showed him how it's really done.
Oh, that is awesome!
-It's just amazing how they do stuff like that, isn't it?
But Jamie's not the only amazing talent
to turn up the heat on BP this year.
Is that even safe?
So these are called poi. They originated in New Zealand.
-They look like mini light things.
-I'm loving this.
-Barney's showing off!
Barney's killing it.
You're going to try one forward and one backward.
-It's like rubbing your stomach.
-I can do that.
Wait... Oh, yeah.
-It's on fire!
She's having a right good time, isn't she?
That's was incredible!
And speaking of incredible, in April,
science guru Greg joined us for an amazing experiment
to test the power of friction between the pages of two books.
My plan is I want to dangle you underneath those interweaved books.
-Attach the other end to a zip wire...
-..all the way down into the piazza.
-What happens if it rips?
We need another presenter.
Someone with nerves of steel and a matching suit. We need Radzi.
Uh-oh, here comes trouble!
I've just looked over the edge.
-Don't look down, then.
-Just push her.
I'm going so fast!
The book isn't even shifting.
I cannot believe that worked!
-That was scary!
-We are flying!
-That is so cool!
Oh, he made it! He made it, he made it.
ALL: Mission Friction complete!
And from one-off challenges to unique dancing.
Say hello to the Soweto Skeleton Movers.
-Why would you want to bite someone's foot?
-He's riding a bicycle!
-CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
And Radzi was keen to have a go himself.
-CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
-Mum, I'm on a bike!
-ALL: That's cool!
I'd love to get on that.
Finally, you loved seeing me take on my biggest fear
when I dived with sharks.
-I really am going to be amongst them.
-Yeah, you are.
Oh, my gosh, he's turning to look at me.
-What would you do if you just saw it coming at you?
The last thing I want to do is get in this water.
-Oh, come on!
-My heart is pounding.
My worst nightmare just swam centimetres from my face.
And then it dawns on me...I'm fine!
It's terrifying, but it's amazing. So she actually likes it now.
-You did it! Good job!
-So that's what they thought, but what about you?
