I'm facing my biggest phobia.

It was the final of Eurovision on Saturday, I went behind the scenes

and we'll bring you a film that shows you

how it all got put together.

As well as that, we're joined by New Hope Club,

they're here to perform their brand-new single.

Look at them waving with their guitars.

..I want to meet a man behind one of the biggest events

in the entire hip-hop calendar.

It is excellent to be here, I've wanted a job here since 1973.

Well, you are a guest today, we couldn't be happier to have you.

Let's talk about that event, that big event,

the Breakin' Convention, it's touring the UK right now,

-tell us about it.

-It's touring the UK,

it's the international festival of hip-hop dance theatre.

You're going to see breaking, popping, locking,

you're going to see graffiti, DJs and MCs.

It's all local acts,

but we also bring in some amazing artists from overseas.

That is incredible, I can feel your passion

just coming across to me right now. What do you love most about hip-hop?

OK, so, hip-hop for me,

it was something that I discovered when I was very young.

And it's empowering,

anyone can do it, you don't need money to go to the dance classes

and stuff, all you need is the passion and the desire to work hard.

And you've got that in spades.

But the international acts you're talking about, tell us about them.

Yes, they're amazing.

We've got one act from South Africa that's coming over,

and they do a dance style called Pantsula,

which is an amazing dance style, really fast footwork.

But what they do is they add contortionism

and amazing hat tricks. It's incredible.

We absolutely want to see it because you brought them

right to the Blue Peter studio. Before you introduce them,

I will say, PLEASE don't try this at home.

But do the honours, my friend.

So, if you were to celebrate anything,

you'd probably use song and dance. We've had some dancing,

how about some singing and the biggest competition on the planet?

It's Eurovision and on Saturday,

-I went to see how it all gets put together.

-Get on my back.

How do you do it?

The Eurovision Song contest is one of the biggest live TV events

on the planet,

pulling in 200 million viewers around the world.

Each Eurovision winner is decided

after every competing country awards the others points.

And those points are sent in from television studios across Europe.

The UK studio is this one in London, and I'm going to find out

what happens here as Eurovision takes place over in Ukraine.

And we start the day before the competition, on rehearsal day.

Now, this isn't just a place where I get to show you behind the scenes.

This is actually where the jury are making their decisions.

That's a pretty cool thing.

We're going to be here every step of the way and so are you.

Look, studio B. Stands for Barney, that.

'This studio also provides all the phone numbers and commentary

'we see on the telly at home.

'And it soon becomes clear this is a serious rehearsal.

'Everything gets practised as though it's the night itself.'

So, as you can see, there's lots going on here in London.

In Ukraine, however,

there's a man on the ground who's going to have a chat with us now.

He's commentating on the event, it's Graham Norton.

Graham, it's Barney from Blue Peter,

-how you doing?

-I'm very, very well.

I'm excited is what I am.

Can you talk us through the stuff

that you do to get ready for the big day?

Basically, I watch the rehearsals.

Tonight's a big rehearsal, though,

because this is the rehearsal that the juries across Europe watch.

So half the votes are decided on tonight.

So if you mess up tonight, you know, that's a big deal.

This year is a classic. We've got it all.

There is nothing else like Eurovision.

I'm about to be broadcast into the live rehearsal in Ukraine,

and every one of the 42 competing countries will be able to see me.

I'm actually quite nervous.

Can you give us an insight into what it feels like

-for the people watching?

-Well, it's very nerve-racking.

The performances are just a three-minute limit.

So my song was two minutes and 58 seconds.

But it was the most nerve-racking two minutes and 58 seconds

of my entire life.

I noticed last night there's quite a delay when you say something

to when they hear it.

I guess if you sort of count four seconds, maybe?

Being in this gallery really gives me an idea

of just how huge Eurovision is.

The songs come thick and fast, and how these guys keep up,

I have no idea.

But they do.

And as the final act leaves the stage, so the scoring begins.

It's fantastic to be a part of this amazing show.

It takes me back to 20 years ago

when I won the Eurovision Song contest for the United Kingdom.

And I'd like to think it was those 12 points that really crowned

Portugal's Salvador Sobral the winner.

I met her back in March, when she was prepping herself to climb

Mt Everest for the second time,

because she's a ridiculous human being.

The good news is that we found out that, on Tuesday morning,

she'd managed to do it. She climbed Everest, and here she is

with her Blue Peter badge at the top.

So, we're going to congratulate her when she's on the show in

a few weeks, but, Mollie you are a legend. Well done.

It is, Radz, and here's everything you need to know about

-our fantastic new competition.

-Ah!

This is the Great Pagoda.

It's one of the most iconic sites at the world-famous

Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew.

It's a Grade I-listed building,

which means it's thought to be of exceptional interest

and national importance, so it needs to be protected.

So, a year-long restoration project is underway to return

this 255-year-old building to its former glory.

Once it was covered with 80 beautiful dragons -

and now the dragons are coming back.

A team of skilled designers and craftsmen will

create 79 sculptures that will once again sit on this iconic building.

But, what about the 80th?

Well, this is the really cool part of the whole project...

because this is where you come in.

We're giving you the chance to design one of the dragons

that will sit on the Great Pagoda and be seen by millions of people.

That's right - your design will be part of an iconic royal building.

And it doesn't get much cooler than that.

Your design must be totally original.

You need to give your dragon a name and a superpower.

And it has to be a classic dragon shape, including wings, a body,

a tail and a mouth.

Judging your creations

will be a bestselling author and dragon expert.

Now, from one beast to another...

Don't be hard on yourself. You're not a dragon.

No, I was talking about the sharks.

Ah, yes, that's embarrassing. Good. OK, roll it.

In my time on Blue Peter, I've tackled some epic challenges.

I've pushed myself to the limit physically and mentally.

From the highest highs...

..to the lowest lows.

But, there's always been one thing that I said I would never, ever do.

I'm going to try and conquer my biggest fear - sharks.

I've been asked to help clean the shark tanks at the

Blue Planet Aquarium, and that's going to involve getting in

the water with the thing I'm most scared of.

So, ever since I can remember,

I have been terrified of big fish, like sharks.

I know for a lot of people this would be quite a fun, easy challenge

and something that they would look forward to, but for me,

this is my worst nightmare.

But to beat my fear, first I need to understand it.

So I've come to meet fear expert Dr Warren Mansell.

So, I understand you're coming to see me to talk about

-your fear of sharks?

-Yes.

My biggest fear with sharks is the idea of seeing a shark

coming at my face.

Like, swimming at me.

That gives me anxiety.

Would you be able to look at some pictures of sharks now?

Until now, I found it hard to even look at sharks.

So Warren shows me pictures of them to help me get used to it.

Go on, just speak your mind.

That is really scary.

That's like a sea dinosaur.

For me, that was really hard, but the work doesn't end there.

I've never dived before, so I need a scuba lesson.

Sophie is one of the chief divers at the aquarium,

and she'll be with me in the water when I take on challenge.

Woo!

-There you go.

-You could have warmed it! Brrr!

She wants me to feel comfortable with the equipment

and the hand signals we'll be using underwater.

That way, I can just concentrate on facing my fear.

-Sharks next?

-No.

No, I'm very happy in this tiny, little, salty pool.

Challenge over.

Yeah, sadly not.

This challenge is only just beginning.

It's the morning of my dive and I'm so tense.

It's time for me to meet the guys I'll be sharing a tank with.

OK, this is...this is my...this is my idea of a nightmare.

There's a shark looking directly at me.

I honestly thought the sharks would just be in the distance somewhere,

doing their thing, and they are right up in my face, looking at me.

I really am going to be amongst them.

Oh, my gosh! It's turning to look at me.

I'm not going to look at it.

For most people, looking at a shark in a tank is a fun day out,

but, for me, it's my worst nightmare.

Er, oh, no, sorry.

Actually, my worst nightmare would be swimming with them.

As I get ready, all my instincts are saying, "Do not do this, Lindsey."

Thankfully, Dr Warren is here to help calm my nerves.

Looking out over the tank, what are your thoughts?

For me, the hardest part is going to be the moment

I get in that water and see a shark for the first time.

I don't know if I can face a shark, as it were.

-Anything else that's going to feel comforting when you're in there?

-No.

-I've just got to do it now, haven't I?

-I think that's right.

-Thank you.

-All right.

-I'll see you on the other side.

-OK.

The moment has arrived.

I'm genuinely terrified.

I'm shaking.

I'm nervous. The real fear is a shark coming at me head-on.

And I think that is definitely going to happen today.

Even with Sophie and the rest of the team here to guide me,

the last thing I want to do is get in this water.

But, I've got a job to do.

"Come on, Linds, you can do this!

"Just breathe."

Sophie wants me to stay calm,

and I'm trying to remember the advice I was given by Dr Warren,

but all I can think about is where the sharks are -

and it doesn't take long to find out.

Seeing a shark up close like this is so overwhelming.

They feel huge and I feel terrified.

The sharks are drawn to us being in the tank,

and, suddenly, we're surrounded.

All along, my biggest fear has been a shark swimming directly

towards me and then, this happens.

My heart is pounding...

My worst nightmare just swam centimetres from my face...

And then it dawns on me...

I'm fine.

This is actually quite fun.

These are beautiful creatures -

but, I cant just admire them, I've got a job to do.

This challenge has been so hard for me,

and I'm so proud I've overcome my biggest fear.

I just hope I've inspired you guys to do the same.

I actually can't believe I've done that.

I feel quite emotional, because I was really, really scared.

I don't know why I'm crying.

I was really, really scared to go down and do that today.

And, actually, the imagination of doing it wasn't half as bad

as going down and giving it a try.

And I'd go as far as saying I actually quite enjoyed it.

Would you do it again, though?

No, I wouldn't do it again.

No, I wouldn't do it again!

But, I did do it and here is the proof.

-it's a shark tooth from the bottom of the tank.

-Amazing!

-Coolest thing ever!

-You pulled it's tooth out?

-Yes! I'm so brave.

-No, this was at the bottom of the tank.
