Peanut Butter Cookies CBBC Dish Up

So we're going to make peanut butter cookies and banana ice cream.

Nice.

Yes. It makes about ten cookies and it takes about half an hour.

Obviously, it'll take overnight to freeze the ice cream.

Perfect for little kids and big kids everywhere.

What is not to love about cookies and ice cream together?

-We're going to make our ice cream. We've got our bananas here.

And then you're going to squinch them up a bit as they go in.

It's best to have as ripe bananas as possible.

The riper they are, the sweeter they are.

-They're my favourite when they're like that.

-Oh, my gosh, really?

-I only like green bananas.

-Oh, no, get away from me!

So, now we're just going to mash them up.

If you don't have a whisk, you can just use a fork.

You just don't want it lumpy.

No, mash them up as much as possible.

That's it. Lovely.

Good bit of working out, isn't it, at the same time?

Feel pumped.

So, then, to this, you need about 100ml.

-So, if we say three large tablespoons.

-Cool.

-There you go.

-Mix that in?

And then a nice squidge of honey.

-That's enough.

-Too much?

-No, it'll be nice and sweet.

-You can do honey to taste, really.

-As much as you like, yeah.

-And a tiny splash of milk.

-Oh, really?

-Just a little bit.

Lovely.

-Mix all of that together and that's it. Into a little tub.

-Cool.

There you go. Put it in the freezer.

After an hour, you take it out and with a fork, just crunch it,

fork it through, put it back in the freezer, another hour, do it again.

-Do it again.

-You need to do it at least three times.

-Right.

But, the more you do it, the softer and smoother

and creamier your ice cream will be.

-Wicked.

So, Jake, we're going to make our peanut butter cookies.

First of all, I've preheated the oven to 175

-and we've lined baking trays.

-Cool.

-So it's all ready.

-Sweet.

-First of all, we're going to measure out 100g of sugar.

-Yeah.

-Into our bowl.

-Bowl.

And then if you put this underneath,

then you're going to have a bit of stickability because you've...

-Stickability?

-Stickability.

And so we're using margarine,

so it's much softer than butter already.

-Cool.

-And that's about 75g. Cream it together.

-So, give yourself a good workout.

-Good core, isn't it? It is.

-Tensing up and that. See, I'd quite happily eat that.

-Yes, so would I.

I love this.

So, now, on your scales, you're going to put 100g of flour.

-Put your egg in.

-Cool.

-Crack an egg in.

And you're just going to mix that in and then add your flour like that.

And then we're going to add the peanut butter, that's 100g,

and then we're going to add about a tablespoon of syrup.

So, you can measure it by eye, if you want.

A nice tablespoon like that.

-And a teaspoon of bicarb.

-OK.

-And then mix it again?

-Mix that.

My mum does a lot of baking but I just like eating it afterwards.

-Well, you can bake... Maybe you can make these for her.

-And then you've got some peanuts here. Just salted peanuts.

-Yeah.

I think they give it a really nice bit of texture.

So, if you get a spoon, a nice big teaspoon.

So for about ten minutes, ten to 12 minutes. All ovens completely vary.
