Hello. I'm Sarah. I've got something to tell you. | 0:43:06 | 0:43:11
I know someone who was looking for love. | 0:43:11 | 0:43:14
Would you like to hear all about him? | 0:43:14 | 0:43:17
Tonight's bedtime story is called Mole's In Love | 0:43:17 | 0:43:20
and it's by David Bedford and Rosalind Beardshaw. | 0:43:20 | 0:43:23
One bright day, | 0:43:25 | 0:43:26
Morris the Mole peeped out of his hole to find that it was spring. | 0:43:26 | 0:43:31
"Yippee!" said Morris. | 0:43:31 | 0:43:33
Then he hopped down from his hill and went off to find someone to love. | 0:43:33 | 0:43:38
Morris peered around the farmyard. Moles don't see very well. | 0:43:38 | 0:43:42
But Morris didn't think it would be hard to find someone to love | 0:43:42 | 0:43:46
because he knew just what to look for. | 0:43:46 | 0:43:48
Shiny, black fur! Luscious, shiny, black fur! | 0:43:50 | 0:43:54
Morris hugged the luscious, shiny, black fur. He was in love. | 0:43:55 | 0:44:00
Morris blew his love a kiss. Mwah! | 0:44:01 | 0:44:04
But when the luscious, shiny, black fur blew him a kiss back, | 0:44:05 | 0:44:09
Morris was blown off his feet! | 0:44:09 | 0:44:11
Neigh! | 0:44:11 | 0:44:13
He landed in a pile of leaves, | 0:44:13 | 0:44:16
but nobody came to see if he was all right. | 0:44:16 | 0:44:20
"Ouch," Morris said to himself, feeling glum. | 0:44:20 | 0:44:24
Then Morris smelled the first new flowers of spring. | 0:44:24 | 0:44:28
"Yippee!" he said, and skipped out of the leaves | 0:44:28 | 0:44:31
and went off to find someone else to love. | 0:44:31 | 0:44:34
A pink nose! A pretty, pink nose! Morris hugged the pretty, pink nose. | 0:44:35 | 0:44:41
He was in love! Morris rubbed noses. | 0:44:41 | 0:44:46
But when the pretty, pink nose rubbed back, | 0:44:46 | 0:44:49
Morris was sent rolling away, cold and wet and slimy from head to toes. | 0:44:49 | 0:44:56
He landed in some mud, | 0:44:56 | 0:44:58
but nobody came to see if he was all right. | 0:44:58 | 0:45:01
"Ouch," Morris said to himself, feeling glum. | 0:45:01 | 0:45:06
Then he heard the happy twitter of birds singing about spring. | 0:45:06 | 0:45:10
"Yippee!" said Morris and he jumped out of the mud | 0:45:10 | 0:45:14
and went to find someone else to love. | 0:45:14 | 0:45:18
Big, wide feet! Gorgeous, big, wide feet! | 0:45:18 | 0:45:22
Morris hugged the gorgeous, big, wide feet. He was in love! | 0:45:22 | 0:45:27
Morris sat down in the meadow with his love, | 0:45:27 | 0:45:30
but when the gorgeous, big, wide feet sat down too... | 0:45:30 | 0:45:33
Morris was choked...and tickled by feathers. | 0:45:33 | 0:45:37
"Ah-choo!" he sneezed, tumbling backwards. | 0:45:39 | 0:45:42
This time, he landed on a sharp thistle, | 0:45:42 | 0:45:45
but nobody came to see if he was all right. | 0:45:45 | 0:45:48
"Ouch," Morris said to himself, feeling glummer than ever. | 0:45:48 | 0:45:52
"Ouch, ouch, ouch." | 0:45:52 | 0:45:54
And even though he knew it was still spring, | 0:45:54 | 0:45:57
he went back on sat on his molehill. | 0:45:57 | 0:46:00
Morris said to himself... HE SNIFFS | 0:46:00 | 0:46:03
"It is spring, and I'm alone without love. | 0:46:03 | 0:46:07
"The shiny, black fur was too rough. The pretty, pink nose was too wet. | 0:46:07 | 0:46:13
"And gorgeous, big, wide feet made me sneeze. | 0:46:13 | 0:46:17
"I looked for love and I didn't find it." | 0:46:17 | 0:46:20
Suddenly, Morris heard a tiny voice. | 0:46:20 | 0:46:23
It said, "You have not looked hard enough!" | 0:46:23 | 0:46:27
And before he could blink, | 0:46:27 | 0:46:29
someone gave him a present, a present balanced on his nose | 0:46:29 | 0:46:33
and wrapped around his ears. | 0:46:33 | 0:46:36
And when Morris looked through his present, | 0:46:36 | 0:46:39
he saw very clearly luscious, shiny, black fur. A pretty, pink nose. | 0:46:39 | 0:46:47
Gorgeous, big, wide feet! And best of all, twinkly, smart spectacles! | 0:46:47 | 0:46:53
"I'm called Minnie," said the tiny voice, as Morris stared at her. | 0:46:53 | 0:46:58
"Are you all right?" she asked. And Morris said, "Yes, I am!" | 0:46:58 | 0:47:05
Morris hopped down from his hill, | 0:47:05 | 0:47:07
but he wasn't looking for love any more. | 0:47:07 | 0:47:10
Love had already found him. | 0:47:10 | 0:47:12
I hope you enjoyed that story, which was called Mole's In Love. | 0:47:16 | 0:47:20
