Honey Bear had been busy playing all afternoon

and now, she'd come home for her supper.

"Where's Poppet?" she cried, suddenly.

"I must have left Poppet behind!"

"Don't worry, Honey Bear," said Father Bear.

"We'll go and look."

Oh, dear. Honey Bear looks upset. Poppet must be a very special toy.

She is, Tallulah, but I'm sure Father Bear knows what to do.

First, Honey Bear showed Father Bear

where she'd skipped in and out of the tall trees.

They looked and they looked, but Poppet wasn't there.

Next, Honey Bear showed Father Bear where she'd played in the stream.

They looked and they looked, but Poppet wasn't there.

Then, Honey Bear showed Father Bear

where she'd played Wibble Wobble along the mossy log.

They looked and they looked, but no Poppet.

"Never mind, Honey Bear," said father Bear.

"We'll look again tomorrow."

And as the sun slipped away and made long shadows on the ground,

they turned for home.

And then, Honey Bear remembered.

-"Poppet!"

-Phew.

I'm so glad she remembered where Poppet was.

"Are you cross, Father Bear?" asked Honey Bear,

"With all that looking?"

"Not at all," smiled Father Bear.

"While we were looking for Poppet,

"I found all these tasty treats for us to eat."

And the two bears sat down to have their supper.

With Poppet too, of course!

Honey Bear just forgot where she'd left Poppet.

Ha-ha! It's easy to forget some things,

even if they're really important.
