All aboard the Story Train!
Twinkle, have you spotted someone?
I can't see who it is. Can you?
I know who that is.
There's Sweetie's carriage too!
Well done. You were right!
It's Loopy and Sweetie. Let's say hello.
I knew it was Loopy cos I saw his curly loop.
Oh, where's Sweetie?
Driver Dan! Driver Dan!
Sweetie's inside her carriage making a cake. Mmm, what a smell!
-Oh, it makes me want to loop a loopy loop!
-Hmm. What sort of cake?
She didn't say. But I just know it's going to be round with green icing.
Just right for Loopy!
Round and green?
Hello, Driver Dan. Hi, Twinkle.
You're just in time for my cake.
I'll go and get some plates.
Oh, it's not round and green!
Sweetie's made it wrong!
-Ha-ha, there are different kinds of cake, you know, Loopy.
Oh! Don't worry, Dan, I can fix this.
Oh no, Loopy, don't!
CRUNCH! Oh, that's better.
Now it just needs...
Loopy, what have you done?
Now that's what I call a cake - round with green icing.
Sweetie will be so pleased!
I've got the plates.
Oh, my cake!
-You like it?
Did I do something wrong?
-I think Sweetie liked her cake the way it was.
-But everyone knows
-the best cakes are round and green!
-I liked it star-shaped and pink.
You mean it was meant to look like that? Oh, I'm sorry, Sweetie.
-I know, I'll help you make another one.
-That's a good idea.
Thanks, Loopy, but I haven't got any cake mixture left
and there isn't enough pink icing left for another cake anyway.
-Can you mend it with your fixatron?
-The fixatron can't mend cakes.
I'm sure if we all think together we can sort things out.
Let's see who else is coming to Story Corner, maybe they can help?
And are you ready?
Then, let's go!
-All aboard the Story Train!
I think Twinkle's seen someone. I wonder if they'll be able to help
with Sweetie's cake. Can you see who it is?
What are those shapes?
I don't know.
Oh, look. It's Milly and Lilly.
Milly and Lilly are next on the Story Train!
Hiya, Driver Dan.
Hello, Milly and Lilly. That looks like fun.
We're making paper shapes. What's wrong with Sweetie?
-Sweetie and Loopy have been having cake trouble.
-I made a cake.
It was pink and star-shaped.
Oh, my favourite!
But my favourite is round and green.
-So I... BOTH:
So no one wants any cake except me.
Well, we love pink cake and pink stars and so does Sweetie.
We can't mend you cake, but we can make THIS!
Why don't you try it on?
-Oh, me too!
May I have a starry thing. Please?
Oh, I've made a mess again, haven't I?
And your mess has just given me an idea.
Oh, yes! That's brilliant!
-Did you say you had some icing left, Sweetie?
-Just a little bit.
Cakes can be pink and star-shaped AND round and green.
It's a Sweetie-Loopy cake and it'll be the best taste, ever!
Let's take it with us to Story Corner.
It's story time.
Twinkle, are we ready to go?
Are you ready, too?
Then come on, let's go!
-All aboard the Story Train!
We're going to have a story!
It might be about stars.
I think it'll be about cakes.
What about fixing things?
Who's ready for a story, then?
We are! Maybe we can have one about Sweetie-Loopy cakes?
Hmm... I think it should be... Ah, I know just the book.
Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?
-Story time, yay!
And all of you? Are you sitting down comfy and ready to listen?
This story is called Pirate Pie.
It was written by Gillian Corderoy and the pictures are by
Pirate Nab and Pirate Freddie had been at sea for months.
They had a ship full of diamonds and emeralds and doubloons
and treasure of all kinds.
They were just counting their jewels when... Rumble! Gurgle!
Is it a storm?
"I'm starving," said Nab.
"Me too," said Freddie. "How about a sandwich or a cake?"
Oh, yum! Cake!
"Or pirate pie? With carrots and beans and kebabs
"and shrimps and rice and vegetables on one side," said Nab.
"And custard and peaches and meringue and figs and jelly,"
said Freddie. "Just the stuff to fill my belly!"
And they raced down to the galley to make one right away.
-Oh, is that a galley?
-Yes, that's right, Milly.
A galley is the ship's kitchen.
But when they opened the cupboards, "Beetles in the buns," wailed Nab.
-"Boiled socks in a pot," shouted Freddie.
-Boiled socks? Yuck!
"Green water. Slime porridge. We can't eat this," said Freddie.
"What I want is pirate pie!"
"There must be food somewhere," said Nab. "Come, let's search the ship."
They hunted high and low but there was nothing left to eat.
"We could cook the treasure," said Nab.
"Ruby trifle, emerald jelly, doubloon cakes to fill our bellies."
"We can't eat that," said Freddie with a sigh.
"What I want is..."
ALL: Pirate pie!
Nab was cooking them spiders and socks when...
"Land ahoy," cried Freddie.
"Look, past those rocks!"
They sailed in fast and as quick as they could
took the treasure chest to where the pirate inn stood.
And swapped their treasure in the blink of an eye for the biggest ever
pirate pie! Ha-ha!
Well, wasn't that a good story?
They swapped all that treasure for a pirate pie.
They really love pirate pie, don't they?
-Do you think they ate it all?
I could eat a whole one by myself!
A whole pirate pie?!
If it was filled with Sweetie-Loopy cake.
And now it's your turn.
Which bit did you like best?
Come on, it's time to show me the story.
I'm being a pirate too! A-harr!
I'm waving my pirate sword!
I'm looking through my pirate telescope.
I've got a telescope too.
I'm swimming to the island!
We are swimming.
I'm looking for something to eat.
There's lots of treasure but no food.
Smelly sock soup. Ugh!
Really stinky, too!
I'm eating loads and loads of treasure jelly.
I love jelly!
-It's a great big pirate pie!
Well done! That was really good.
Feeling hungry, Loopy?
Would you swap your treasure to eat your favourite food
-like the pirates in our story did?
-Er, I don't know.
I really like treasure and I really like doubloons.
Pirate Nab and Freddie liked doubloons too,
but not as much as they liked their favourite food.
Who wants some Sweetie-Loopy cake?
Oh, yes please, Sweetie!
I'll swap ALL my treasure for really big slice.
Glad you enjoyed the story, everyone. And the cake!
But now it's time to go.
-All aboard the Story Train!
Bye, everyone! It's time to go.
But let's come back soon because we all love stories!
-Bye, Driver Dan!
My favourites are princess stories.
I like stories about rabbits.
