-Hi, Driver Dan! I was waiting for you.

0:01:030:01:08

Can we go and see Sweetie? We need to go right now!

0:01:080:01:11

Oh! What's the hurry?

0:01:110:01:13

She's making a cake for everyone.

0:01:130:01:16

Can we go, Driver Dan? Can we? Please?

0:01:160:01:20

-Come on, then.

-Wahey, yeah!

0:01:200:01:24

Loopy IS in a hurry, isn't he, Twinkle?

0:01:250:01:27

-Are we ready to go?

-TWINKLE TWEETS

0:01:270:01:29

-Are you ready, too? Then let's go!

-ALL: All aboard the story train!

0:01:290:01:34

Driver Dan, has Twinkle seen Sweetie?

0:01:410:01:43

Has she? Can you see what Twinkle's spotted?

0:01:430:01:47

Yes. It is Sweetie. Look, and there's the cake!

0:01:490:01:53

-Hello, Driver Dan.

-Hi, Sweetie!

0:01:590:02:01

Oh, wow! You've made the cake already! Can we eat it now?

0:02:010:02:06

Not yet, Loopy. I'm waiting for Tallulah.

0:02:060:02:10

She's bringing me some decorations to put on it.

0:02:100:02:13

Well, is she coming soon?

0:02:130:02:15

Why don't we play a game while we wait for her, Loopy?

0:02:150:02:19

OK. Err...I could bounce on my trampoline a bit more.

0:02:190:02:25

How many bounces can you do before Tallulah gets here?

0:02:250:02:28

-One, two, three, cake!

-Ah-ha-ha-ha!

0:02:280:02:36

Ha-ha-ha! Cake isn't a number, Loopy!

0:02:360:02:39

I know! But it's all I can think about, Sweetie!

0:02:390:02:43

TWINKLE TWEETS

0:02:430:02:45

I think Tallulah's coming. Twinkle's spotted someone.

0:02:450:02:49

Yoo-hoo! Hello, everybody.

0:02:490:02:54

-Hello, Tallulah.

-Hello, Tallulah.

0:02:540:02:56

I've brought the decorations, Sweetie.

0:02:560:02:59

Oh, thank you, Tallulah. Now, where shall I put this one?

0:02:590:03:04

In the middle? Maybe over here?

0:03:040:03:07

Or down the bottom, there?

0:03:080:03:11

-Ooh, here!

-Great! Please can we have some cake, now?

0:03:110:03:16

-Ooh, not yet. We haven't finished decorating it.

-D'a-a-aw!

0:03:160:03:21

-It looks delicious, Sweetie.

-Is it finished?

0:03:210:03:24

Oh, you could put these around the edge of the cake.

0:03:240:03:29

D'a-a-aw, Driver Dan! This is going to take ages!

0:03:290:03:33

What about some more bouncing on your trampoline while we wait?

0:03:330:03:37

-I don't want to bounce anymore.

-How about a game of I Spy, then?

0:03:370:03:41

D'a-aw...OK, Driver Dan.

0:03:410:03:44

I spy with my little eye, something that is green.

0:03:440:03:49

Oh, I know, I know! A big, green cake!

0:03:490:03:52

This green thing wears glasses.

0:03:520:03:55

Cakes don't wear glasses.

0:03:550:03:57

It's very, very close to me. So close I can touch it.

0:03:570:04:02

Me! Yeah! Is it time for cake, now?

0:04:020:04:06

Just one more thing to do.

0:04:080:04:10

Aa-a-aw!

0:04:120:04:14

Maybe we should play another game while we wait, Driver Dan.

0:04:140:04:17

OK, what would you like to play?

0:04:170:04:21

What about a singing game?

0:05:020:05:06

This is the best cake in the whole, wide world!

0:05:080:05:13

-Thank you, Sweetie.

-Yes, thank you, Sweetie. It was delicious!

0:05:130:05:17

And now we've all finished our delicious cake, who'd like a story?

0:05:170:05:21

ALL: Oh, yes please!

0:05:210:05:23

Ha-ha! But don't make us wait too long, Driver Dan!

0:05:230:05:28

I won't, Loopy! But waiting for things can sometimes be fun!

0:05:280:05:32

Yeah!

0:05:320:05:33

THEY ALL LAUGH

0:05:330:05:36

We're hooked up, Twinkle. Are we ready to go?

0:05:360:05:39

-TWINKLE TWEETS

-Are you ready too? Then let's go!

0:05:390:05:43

ALL: All aboard the story train!

0:05:430:05:45

We're going to have a story.

0:05:450:05:48

-It might be about making a yummy cake.

-Or playing games.

0:05:480:05:52

Or singing funny songs.

0:05:520:05:55

ALL: Hooray!

0:06:040:06:06

Who's ready for a story?

0:06:060:06:08

We are, Driver Dan!

0:06:080:06:10

-Is it about singing funny songs?

-Or decorating cakes?

0:06:100:06:14

Hmm...I was thinking maybe...a-ha! I know just the book!

0:06:140:06:20

-Is everyone settled down, ready to listen?

-Yes, Driver Dan.

0:06:200:06:23

-I'm ready too.

-And all of you? Sitting down comfy

0:06:230:06:27

-and ready to listen?

-ALL: Yes, Dan.

-This story is called Special Seeds.

0:06:270:06:32

It was written by Sarah Fabiny. The pictures are by Lauren Tobia.

0:06:320:06:37

One sunny morning,

0:06:370:06:39

Lemar came running up the path to his sister Letitia.

0:06:390:06:42

He was waving a big, bright envelope.

0:06:420:06:45

Nan had sent them a packet of seeds.

0:06:450:06:47

"What do you think might grow from them?" Lemar asked eagerly.

0:06:470:06:52

"Let's plant them and find out," said Leticia.

0:06:520:06:55

So, they fetched their spades, a rake and a watering can,

0:06:550:06:59

and found the perfect sunny spot in the garden.

0:06:590:07:03

They raked the ground, carefully scattered the seeds,

0:07:030:07:06

gently covered them with soil and then sprinkled them with water.

0:07:060:07:10

"It's so exciting," said Lamar.

0:07:100:07:13

"Maybe Nan's seeds will grow into a great big banana cake tree!"

0:07:130:07:17

And he licked his lips,

0:07:170:07:18

as he imagined eating Nan's delicious cake every day.

0:07:180:07:22

Yummy! A big banana cake tree!

0:07:220:07:26

"Or they might grow into a reading tree,"

0:07:260:07:29

said Leticia, hopping up and down with excitement,

0:07:290:07:33

as she pictured a tree that blossomed with books.

0:07:330:07:36

Nan was the best bedtime story reader ever.

0:07:360:07:39

I think you're the best story reader, Driver Dan.

0:07:390:07:43

Thank you, Sweetie.

0:07:430:07:45

"I've got it! It's going to be a pumpkin soup tree!" Lamar exclaimed.

0:07:450:07:50

He remembered how Nan's amazing soup always made them better

0:07:500:07:54

when they weren't feeling well.

0:07:540:07:57

Leticia spun a cartwheel, as she imagined the loveliest tree

0:07:570:08:00

she could think of, with long wrap-around branches.

0:08:000:08:04

"I think a tree that could give us hugs and kisses

0:08:040:08:07

"like Nan's would be the very best of all."

0:08:070:08:09

"You're right," said Lamar. "We'll just have to wait and see."

0:08:090:08:13

Oh-ho-ho-ho! I'd like a hugging tree.

0:08:130:08:17

The children watered Nan's special seeds every day.

0:08:170:08:21

First, green shoots appeared, then little by little,

0:08:210:08:25

the plants started stretching up to the sun.

0:08:250:08:29

They grew bigger and bigger and bigger, until one day,

0:08:290:08:34

when Lamar and Leticia went out to check the plants...

0:08:340:08:38

they had the most wonderful surprise!

0:08:380:08:41

Nan's special seeds had grown into something lovely

0:08:410:08:44

that they hadn't even thought of... a bed of beautiful flowers.

0:08:440:08:50

"Hooray!" Cheered Lamar.

0:08:500:08:52

"Now we've got the perfect way of saying thank you to Nan

0:08:520:08:56

"for all the wonderful things she does for us!"

0:08:560:08:59

"Yes," beamed Leticia. "And showing her how very much we love her!"

0:08:590:09:05

The End. Wasn't that a good story?

0:09:050:09:09

I loved the huggy, kissy trees!

0:09:090:09:11

Ho-ho! The cake tree was my favourite.

0:09:110:09:15

The flowers at the end looked so pretty.

0:09:150:09:18

Now it's your turn. Which bit did you like best?

0:09:180:09:21

Come on, it's time to show me the story!

0:09:210:09:24

This is fun!

0:09:240:09:26

I'm planting seeds in the ground.

0:09:260:09:29

Let's water the seeds! Gently now.

0:09:290:09:33

-I'm trying to reach the banana cake!

-Jump, jump, jump!

0:09:330:09:38

-Mmm, we're eating Nan's pumpkin soup!

-It's very delicious.

0:09:380:09:43

BOTH: Yummy!

0:09:430:09:45

Now, I'm a great big hugging tree.

0:09:450:09:48

-A tree that gives hugs like Nan.

-Hugs are the best.

0:09:480:09:52

I'm like a plant that's getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

0:09:520:09:56

We're stretching up to the sun.

0:09:560:09:58

Look at all the pretty flowers. ALL: Hooray!

0:09:580:10:02

Thanks for showing me the story, everyone. I enjoyed that.

0:10:020:10:06

Lamar and Leticia had to wait for their seeds to grow.

0:10:060:10:10

And you had to wait for your cake, Loopy!

0:10:100:10:13

Oh, it was worth the wait! It was the best cake ever.

0:10:130:10:18

Glad you enjoyed the story, everyone. But now it's time to go.

0:10:180:10:22

-All aboard!

-ALL: All aboard the story train!
