Welcome to the world of epic.

0:00:050:00:08

Sit back, strap yourself in and get ready to become epic at everything!

0:00:080:00:13

Welcome to your quick blast of epicness.

0:00:160:00:19

So what are we waiting for? Let's do this!

0:00:190:00:22

First up, what do you get if you mix snow and planks of wood? This!

0:00:260:00:32

Freestyle skiing - the most epic winter sport going.

0:00:340:00:38

But how do you become a freestyle skier, I hear you ask.

0:00:380:00:41

To show you how, we've got this dude.

0:00:410:00:44

Hello. I'm James Woods, or Woodsy,

0:00:440:00:46

and I'm going to show you how to freestyle ski like a pro.

0:00:460:00:50

Woodsy has opted for both long and short hair. I like it.

0:00:500:00:54

The first thing you've got to do is learn how to ski.

0:00:540:00:57

There, I've learnt it.

0:00:590:01:00

Obviously, learning to ski takes a little bit longer.

0:01:000:01:03

Next, you've got to get used to being in the air.

0:01:030:01:06

And that's a small jump and we call it a pop.

0:01:060:01:08

The more you practise, the easier and smoother your tricks will look.

0:01:110:01:14

Next is the rails, and again we're going to start basic

0:01:170:01:20

and work our way up.

0:01:200:01:21

The key here is to keep nice equal weight on both skis.

0:01:210:01:25

If you can't get yourself to a slope every day, skateboarding

0:01:250:01:28

and rollerblading really helps.

0:01:280:01:30

Once you've done that and mastered your fear, in a couple of years

0:01:300:01:33

you'll be a freeskier and you'll be able to do tricks like this.

0:01:330:01:37

And that is how to freestyle ski like a pro.

0:01:420:01:45

OK, and if that's got you hungry for more,

0:01:460:01:48

then get those leg muscles at the ready

0:01:480:01:50

because we've got a cheerleader to show you a supercool stunt.

0:01:500:01:54

Hi, I'm Luke. I'm going to show you a cheerleading jump - the toe touch.

0:01:560:01:59

Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four.

0:01:590:02:03

Five, six, seven, eight.

0:02:030:02:05

First, bend your knees and clasp your arms in front of you like this.

0:02:050:02:09

-Got it.

-Next you're going to push your arms up.

0:02:090:02:12

-Yup.

-And straighten your knees.

-OK.

0:02:120:02:14

Finally you're going to slice your arms down into a T,

0:02:140:02:17

explode through your legs, jumping, landing on the balls of your feet.

0:02:170:02:21

So that's arms out, legs up, jump and land. Easy.

0:02:210:02:24

Put those steps together and it should look something like this.

0:02:240:02:27

Five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

0:02:270:02:32

And that's how to do a cheerleading toe touch.

0:02:320:02:35

Cheers to you, Lukey, my mate. You wonderful cheerleader.

0:02:360:02:40

Now for something totally different.

0:02:400:02:42

If you have a pen and paper then you can do this next epic little tip.

0:02:420:02:46

I'm Ed Petrie and I'm going to show you how to draw your own comic strip.

0:02:530:02:56

Why? Because I can.

0:02:560:02:58

So the first thing you need to do

0:02:580:03:00

if you're going to draw your own comic strip is have an idea

0:03:000:03:02

about what the comic strip is going to be about.

0:03:020:03:04

Nobody wants to read a comic about a man going to the shops.

0:03:040:03:07

It'd be rubbish. So I've come up with an idea for a guy called Gary Rotter.

0:03:070:03:11

He's the world's worst wizard.

0:03:110:03:13

Now I need a story, so I was thinking he's rubbish wizard

0:03:130:03:16

and he hasn't done his homework so he gets turned into a frog.

0:03:160:03:18

But finds out he quite likes being a frog

0:03:180:03:20

because it means he can catch flies with his tongue.

0:03:200:03:22

The next thing to do is block it out.

0:03:220:03:24

Don't worry too much about the drawing or anything.

0:03:240:03:26

You just want to get the story down.

0:03:260:03:28

-I've worked out I need five panels for this.

-Panels?

0:03:280:03:30

That's the squares that you draw the cartoon in.

0:03:300:03:32

It looks a bit weird when I draw it out on the page.

0:03:320:03:34

It's not symmetrical. So I'm going to do a title panel as well and have six

0:03:340:03:38

and it will look nice and neat.

0:03:380:03:39

So the next thing you're going to do is try

0:03:390:03:41

and do a pretty good drawing in pencil.

0:03:410:03:44

This may take you some time.

0:03:450:03:47

That probably seemed really quick to you. It took hours.

0:03:500:03:54

Anyway, there you go. My finished pencil drawing.

0:03:540:03:58

-I'm happy with my drawing.

-He's happy.

-Now the scary bit. The ink.

0:03:580:04:01

Now you can use any pen you like to do this, whatever suits you.

0:04:010:04:04

I've found over the years that I quite like using a nib pen.

0:04:040:04:09

Again, this may take some time.

0:04:090:04:11

Whoa, what are you doing, Ed? Don't rub it out, we haven't seen it yet.

0:04:150:04:19

-Now I've rubbed all the pencil off.

-Ah.

0:04:190:04:21

Finally, to colour it in, I like to use watercolours.

0:04:210:04:24

I can be nice and messy with them.

0:04:240:04:26

Again, this may take you some time

0:04:260:04:28

so whilst Ed does that I'll remind you how to make your own comic.

0:04:280:04:32

Get an idea. Draw it in the panels in pencil. Go over it in pen.

0:04:320:04:37

Add a splash of colour and voila.

0:04:370:04:39

And that is how you design your own comic strip.

0:04:390:04:41

So there you have it - your quick blast of epicness.

0:04:410:04:46

Now go forth and be epic at everything!
