The place where you can become a master at everything on the planet. | 1:38:07 | 1:38:11
No matter what it is, this programme shows you how to do it. | 1:38:11 | 1:38:15
So sit back, strap yourself in | 1:38:15 | 1:38:17
and get ready to become epic at everything! | 1:38:17 | 1:38:22
Welcome to your quick blast of epicness. | 1:38:22 | 1:38:25
First up, if you're going to throw a party, | 1:38:25 | 1:38:27
then this girl can help you out. | 1:38:27 | 1:38:29
Hey, I'm B. Traits, music producer, | 1:38:29 | 1:38:31
DJ and radio presenter here at the world-famous BBC Radio 1 | 1:38:31 | 1:38:35
and today I'm going to be telling you guys a little bit | 1:38:35 | 1:38:38
about how to DJ the perfect party. | 1:38:38 | 1:38:40
Whoo-hoo, let's party! | 1:38:40 | 1:38:42
You may think it's all about picking your favourite tunes | 1:38:42 | 1:38:45
but there's more to it than that. | 1:38:45 | 1:38:46
The first thing you want to do is pick an intro track. | 1:38:46 | 1:38:49
It's got to be something to grab your audience's attention. | 1:38:49 | 1:38:52
This is the one I've picked. DANCE MUSIC PLAYS | 1:38:52 | 1:38:54
I was going to go for Tom Jones. This is probably cooler. | 1:38:54 | 1:38:57
The most important thing for deejaying a party is to really | 1:38:57 | 1:39:00
enjoy the music that you're playing. | 1:39:00 | 1:39:02
OK, B. Traits, let's see you in action. | 1:39:02 | 1:39:04
DANCE MUSIC CONTINUES | 1:39:04 | 1:39:07
Hmm, rockin'. | 1:39:07 | 1:39:09
So your finishing track is almost as important as your intro track. | 1:39:09 | 1:39:12
For example, I like to end my DJ set on something like this. | 1:39:12 | 1:39:16
DANCE MUSIC PLAYS | 1:39:16 | 1:39:18
Everybody goes crazy to it, everybody sings along. | 1:39:18 | 1:39:20
It's a perfect ending track. | 1:39:20 | 1:39:23
And that's how you DJ the perfect party. | 1:39:23 | 1:39:27
Nice one, B. Traits. See you later. | 1:39:27 | 1:39:31
Ever wanted to wow your mates with a cool football trick? | 1:39:31 | 1:39:34
John Farnworth is here to show you how. | 1:39:34 | 1:39:38
I'm going to show you a football freestyling trick | 1:39:38 | 1:39:40
called the next door. | 1:39:40 | 1:39:43
OK, John, show us the skills. | 1:39:43 | 1:39:46
Step one, throw the ball above the head, straight in the air. | 1:39:46 | 1:39:49
But not too high. Around 30 centimetres. | 1:39:49 | 1:39:52
Easiest thing I've done all day. | 1:39:52 | 1:39:53
Step two, position your body as if to head the ball | 1:39:53 | 1:39:56
but before it hits your head, duck down and cushion it | 1:39:56 | 1:39:59
on the back of your neck. | 1:39:59 | 1:40:01
Oh, you've got to be kidding! Help me out, here, John! | 1:40:01 | 1:40:04
A good tip to remember is to start in a standing position | 1:40:04 | 1:40:07
and then bend over so your upper body is parallel to the floor like this. | 1:40:07 | 1:40:12
It's also worth holding the ball in this position | 1:40:12 | 1:40:15
so you can get used to the balance and the feel. | 1:40:15 | 1:40:17
Maybe practise this bit in private. | 1:40:17 | 1:40:20
Once you've mastered the technique, it's time to give this trick a go. | 1:40:20 | 1:40:23
So start with the feet, | 1:40:23 | 1:40:25
flick it up nice and straight, | 1:40:25 | 1:40:28
cushion on the neck, | 1:40:28 | 1:40:30
keep your back straight, your head up, | 1:40:30 | 1:40:32
and your arms can be back or stretched out to the side. | 1:40:32 | 1:40:36
So, to do an epic next door, | 1:40:36 | 1:40:38
start by throwing the ball straight up. | 1:40:38 | 1:40:41
Go to head the ball but, at the last minute, | 1:40:41 | 1:40:43
bend over to catch it on your neck. | 1:40:43 | 1:40:45
Keep your shoulders back to balance the ball. | 1:40:45 | 1:40:48
Once you get confident, | 1:40:48 | 1:40:49
you can even start to stick in a few new, cool moves. | 1:40:49 | 1:40:52
Yep, totally useless in a game of football but outrageously epic. | 1:40:53 | 1:40:57
And that's how to be epic at the next door. | 1:40:59 | 1:41:01
Thank you, John. | 1:41:01 | 1:41:04
We are taking this right from the H to the T. | 1:41:04 | 1:41:06
That's head to the toe between me and you. | 1:41:06 | 1:41:08
Now, grab your ballet shoes and get on your tippies. | 1:41:08 | 1:41:11
Ballet is truly epic. | 1:41:13 | 1:41:15
You get to stand on your toes, twirl around and wear a tutu. | 1:41:15 | 1:41:19
Hrm-hrm, I mean tights. | 1:41:19 | 1:41:21
I mean...yeah, it's dead manly. | 1:41:21 | 1:41:23
Anyway, want to know how to do it like a pro? Watch this girl. | 1:41:23 | 1:41:26
My name's Lizzie Gough | 1:41:26 | 1:41:27
and I'm going to show you how to curtsy like a prima ballerina. | 1:41:27 | 1:41:31
Do what? Like who? | 1:41:31 | 1:41:34
Ahh! But how? | 1:41:34 | 1:41:37
You're going to start off in a ballet position | 1:41:37 | 1:41:39
which is known as first position and it looks like this. | 1:41:39 | 1:41:43
I'm a natural! | 1:41:43 | 1:41:44
From here, you're going to point your foot to the side, then you're going | 1:41:44 | 1:41:48
to transfer your weight onto this foot and open your arms out. | 1:41:48 | 1:41:52
Got it. Next. | 1:41:52 | 1:41:54
Then you're going to slide this foot backwards | 1:41:54 | 1:41:57
and transfer your weight back up and open your hands | 1:41:57 | 1:42:00
and point your front foot. | 1:42:00 | 1:42:02
I thought this was going to be easy. | 1:42:02 | 1:42:05
Then you're going to close it off back into first position. | 1:42:05 | 1:42:08
And curtsy. | 1:42:08 | 1:42:09
-You're going to point your foot to the side. -Oh, right, there's more. | 1:42:09 | 1:42:13
You're going to transfer your weight onto this foot. | 1:42:13 | 1:42:15
At the same time, you're going to bring the back foot behind | 1:42:15 | 1:42:18
and you're going to bend forward and take your arm across. | 1:42:18 | 1:42:22
Oof, curtsying is complicated. Once more for me? | 1:42:22 | 1:42:26
So, to curtsy, you need to do this with your arms, | 1:42:26 | 1:42:30
lots of pointing with your toes, | 1:42:30 | 1:42:32
the odd slide and finally... | 1:42:32 | 1:42:35
-yeah, that. -CHEERING | 1:42:35 | 1:42:37
And that's how you can be epic at doing a curtsy. | 1:42:37 | 1:42:40
Cool moves, Lizzie. | 1:42:40 | 1:42:41
I just need to learn how to dance now. | 1:42:41 | 1:42:43
So there you have it. Your quick blast of epicness. | 1:42:43 | 1:42:47
Now go forth and be epic at everything! | 1:42:47 | 1:42:50 |
