Scorpion Island. | 0:00:13 | 0:00:15
Isolated in the vast depths of a wild and brutal ocean. | 0:00:15 | 0:00:19
There are only two ways to reach its shore - | 0:00:21 | 0:00:23
by air, or, for the very brave, via the ferocious sea. | 0:00:23 | 0:00:29
Ten daring adventurers are about to experience | 0:00:30 | 0:00:33
the challenge of their lives. | 0:00:33 | 0:00:35
-Faster, faster! -It's hard. -Yes! | 0:00:35 | 0:00:37
-That's enough! Bring it up! Bring it up! -Don't throw it, Zach. No! | 0:00:37 | 0:00:42
We have got to try our best. | 0:00:42 | 0:00:44
-Are you ready? -Ready! | 0:00:44 | 0:00:46
-Ohh! -Yes! | 0:00:46 | 0:00:48
There will be conflict... | 0:00:48 | 0:00:50
Someone has to tell them what they're doing is wrong. | 0:00:50 | 0:00:53
Maybe it's time that somebody else had a go. | 0:00:53 | 0:00:55
Shall we just move on from this and set it aside now? | 0:00:55 | 0:00:58
But just when they think they're about to conquer the island | 0:00:58 | 0:01:02
it will find devastating ways to sabotage their mission... | 0:01:02 | 0:01:05
-What?! -What? | 0:01:05 | 0:01:08
..to Escape From Scorpion Island! | 0:01:08 | 0:01:10
Hello, welcome to Scorpion Island. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:42
I'm Myleene. This time the island has a really big sting in its tail. | 0:01:42 | 0:01:47
I'm Johny and, in just a moment, ten brave adventurers | 0:01:47 | 0:01:50
will be arriving on the island, to take on its terrifying challenges | 0:01:50 | 0:01:53
and devious twists and turns. | 0:01:53 | 0:01:55
Of course, they'll make some new friends | 0:01:55 | 0:01:57
and, no doubt, some enemies, along the way. | 0:01:57 | 0:01:59
Scorpion Island never lets up. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:01
Their time here will push them to the edge. | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
It's going to be a real test. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:05
The waters around Scorpion Island are treacherous, | 0:02:07 | 0:02:10
filled with intimidating and deadly creatures. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:13
The ten new adventurers are totally unaware of what they're up against, | 0:02:15 | 0:02:20
as they prepare to make their way towards Scorpion Island. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:23
They will be racing high above the murky depths of the ocean, | 0:02:24 | 0:02:28
across the treacherous, unknown waters. | 0:02:28 | 0:02:30
Who knows what will lurk beneath them? | 0:02:30 | 0:02:32
A launch boat is taking the adventurers | 0:02:32 | 0:02:35
to an unknown destination. | 0:02:35 | 0:02:37
They're boarding rescue speed boats | 0:02:40 | 0:02:42
and getting ready to race against the powerful currents. | 0:02:42 | 0:02:45
But for one adventurer, | 0:02:45 | 0:02:46
the thought of facing the raging seas is terrifying. | 0:02:46 | 0:02:49
I'm really nervous about going on the boats today, | 0:02:50 | 0:02:53
because when I've looked at them I've thought, | 0:02:53 | 0:02:56
"That looks really unstable | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
"and I don't really want to do that." | 0:02:58 | 0:03:00
So, I'm feeling really nervous about it, | 0:03:00 | 0:03:02
but I really want to conquer my fear and go on one. | 0:03:02 | 0:03:05
But this frightening, yet exciting, journey to Scorpion Island | 0:03:05 | 0:03:09
is challenging other adventurers. They must face their fears, too. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:14
The thing about water that I'm so nervous about is I feel like, | 0:03:14 | 0:03:18
when I look in the water, all I see is something blue | 0:03:18 | 0:03:21
and when I stare down, I just feel like I'm going to fall into it. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:25
I'm new to swimming. I haven't really been swimming a lot, | 0:03:28 | 0:03:32
before I knew I was coming to Scorpion Island. | 0:03:32 | 0:03:36
Because the crashing waves are too aggressive for the launch boat, | 0:03:37 | 0:03:40
it must leave the adventurers isolated | 0:03:40 | 0:03:42
in the middle of the turbulent waters. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:45
They must ready themselves for the final stage of their journey, | 0:03:45 | 0:03:49
through the ocean barrier that protects the island. | 0:03:49 | 0:03:52
They're going to need to hold on tight. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:54
They're about to face the ride of their lives. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:57
THEY SCREAM | 0:04:01 | 0:04:04
It's very choppy today, so that boat is going up and down. | 0:04:04 | 0:04:07
I can hear the screams from here! | 0:04:07 | 0:04:09
They must be torn between terror and exhilaration, | 0:04:09 | 0:04:13
to be racing this fast knowing they might fall in at any moment. | 0:04:13 | 0:04:17
Some of our adventurers are confident. | 0:04:21 | 0:04:23
I'm fearless and nothing about Scorpion Island scares me. | 0:04:23 | 0:04:27
I'm really good at skiing and I've started snowboarding | 0:04:27 | 0:04:29
and that's helped with my balance and my co-ordination. | 0:04:29 | 0:04:33
I'm not worried about going. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:38
I'm going to do my best when I go there | 0:04:38 | 0:04:40
and I think that this is maybe a good way to express myself. | 0:04:40 | 0:04:45
Others may be worried, but they are ready for a new adventure. | 0:04:48 | 0:04:53
I've never left Wales before, | 0:04:54 | 0:04:56
except for once, when I went to Lapland with my mum and dad, | 0:04:56 | 0:05:00
then I've never been out of Wales before. | 0:05:00 | 0:05:02
But I should be OK. | 0:05:02 | 0:05:03
I'm worried about Scorpion Island, | 0:05:06 | 0:05:09
because Scorpion Island is mischief and just throws things | 0:05:09 | 0:05:14
out of the blue at you. | 0:05:14 | 0:05:16
Scorpion Island means an adventure. I want to achieve something | 0:05:22 | 0:05:26
and, hopefully, win. | 0:05:26 | 0:05:27
I don't know how to explain it, but I get worried | 0:05:33 | 0:05:36
that I'm going to let my team down in certain things. | 0:05:36 | 0:05:38
Going to Scorpion Island scares me a little bit, | 0:05:45 | 0:05:47
because I'm not going there with any parents or the people | 0:05:47 | 0:05:52
that I'm with I've only met once, | 0:05:52 | 0:05:54
so it's, sort of, like a trust issue, | 0:05:54 | 0:05:56
but I'm sure, as soon as I get there, | 0:05:56 | 0:05:58
within the first two days, I'll be fine. | 0:05:58 | 0:06:00
THEY SCREAM | 0:06:01 | 0:06:04
They're approaching the beach, ready to take on Scorpion Island. | 0:06:08 | 0:06:14
Legend is about to be re-written. | 0:06:14 | 0:06:17
THEY SCREAM | 0:06:17 | 0:06:18
Amazing! | 0:06:20 | 0:06:21
This is awesome! | 0:06:25 | 0:06:26
THEY CHEER | 0:06:26 | 0:06:29
And they've done it! They've arrived. | 0:06:36 | 0:06:38
That was the best fun I've ever had in my whole entire life. | 0:06:44 | 0:06:47
I'm so glad I didn't chicken out. | 0:06:47 | 0:06:48
And that was so much fun. I loved that! | 0:06:50 | 0:06:53
Woooo! Ah ha ha ha ha! | 0:06:55 | 0:07:01
Welcome to Scorpion Island. | 0:07:06 | 0:07:09
You've been selected because you are the best | 0:07:09 | 0:07:11
and you're the only ones who can take on the island. | 0:07:11 | 0:07:14
You're going to be following the trail | 0:07:14 | 0:07:16
of the mysterious fortune hunter. | 0:07:16 | 0:07:18
He came to the island and plundered the island's treasure. | 0:07:18 | 0:07:22
However, he didn't manage to escape the island | 0:07:22 | 0:07:24
and has since disappeared. | 0:07:24 | 0:07:26
Scorpion Island relishes in its splendid isolation | 0:07:28 | 0:07:33
and uses its natural world as its impenetrable defence system. | 0:07:33 | 0:07:37
Its virtually impossible ocean and shore | 0:07:39 | 0:07:41
gives way to its dangerous jungles, thick swampy lagoons, | 0:07:41 | 0:07:46
exotic plants and creatures. | 0:07:46 | 0:07:48
The island is alive. | 0:07:50 | 0:07:52
Our ten adventurers are not the first to take on the island. | 0:07:55 | 0:07:58
In recent times, an adventurer came from far across the seas. | 0:07:58 | 0:08:04
He was a fortune hunter, whose mission it was | 0:08:04 | 0:08:06
to plunder the island of its legendary treasure - | 0:08:06 | 0:08:10
the treasure that represents its precious life. | 0:08:10 | 0:08:12
He took on the island's challenges, succeeded and won all the treasure. | 0:08:19 | 0:08:24
But he failed in his final escape. | 0:08:26 | 0:08:29
As an ultimate act of revenge, the furious island | 0:08:30 | 0:08:33
threw the treasures deep into its dense jungles | 0:08:33 | 0:08:36
and mischievously captured the fortune hunter's spirit | 0:08:36 | 0:08:40
and locked it away. | 0:08:40 | 0:08:41
'Ahhhgggggghhhhh!' | 0:08:41 | 0:08:45
His legacy remains scattered across the island. | 0:08:49 | 0:08:52
But now the island is more guarded than ever | 0:09:01 | 0:09:04
and our ten new adventurers must follow the path that he created. | 0:09:04 | 0:09:08
So, guys, the island has hidden the treasure, once more. | 0:09:09 | 0:09:13
It's up to you to find it. | 0:09:13 | 0:09:14
You're going to be split up into two teams. | 0:09:14 | 0:09:18
It's up to your team to find an island treasure each day. | 0:09:18 | 0:09:22
The more island treasure you find, the better your chances | 0:09:22 | 0:09:25
of escaping Scorpion Island. | 0:09:25 | 0:09:27
The island is trying to communicate with you right now. | 0:09:27 | 0:09:30
I don't know if you can see, | 0:09:30 | 0:09:31
over there are a bunch of bottles | 0:09:31 | 0:09:33
with a message in it from the island. | 0:09:33 | 0:09:35
What I want you to do is go over to the bottles | 0:09:35 | 0:09:38
and find your own message. | 0:09:38 | 0:09:40
What you waiting for? Off you go! | 0:09:40 | 0:09:42
Each bottle contains a parchment with a name of an adventurer. | 0:09:47 | 0:09:51
The number 1 or 2 and a unique, mysterious symbol. | 0:09:51 | 0:09:56
What could the island be trying to tell them? | 0:09:56 | 0:09:59
-I've got 1! Who's got 2? -I've got a shell. | 0:10:02 | 0:10:06
What does 2 mean? What does 2 mean? | 0:10:06 | 0:10:09
-I don't know, but I've got 1. -It's a map! It's a map! | 0:10:09 | 0:10:13
-Maybe the way to the treasure is when we find each symbol. -Yeah. | 0:10:14 | 0:10:18
I've got an idea. The challenges - | 0:10:18 | 0:10:21
there could be symbols on the wall, and whatever one lights up, | 0:10:21 | 0:10:24
it's that person who's doing the challenge. | 0:10:24 | 0:10:27
Come in, then, guys. Come in, come in, come in. | 0:10:30 | 0:10:33
Have you all got your parchments? Yeah? OK. | 0:10:33 | 0:10:35
Now, on your parchment you should have a number - 1 or 2. | 0:10:35 | 0:10:39
Will Team One please stand to my left. | 0:10:41 | 0:10:43
And Team Two to my right. | 0:10:48 | 0:10:49
As you can see, guys, | 0:10:51 | 0:10:53
for the first time ever, the island has decided its boys against girls. | 0:10:53 | 0:10:58
Yes! | 0:10:58 | 0:11:00 | |
After defeating the fortune hunter, the island made its defences | 0:11:02 | 0:11:06
stronger than ever before. | 0:11:06 | 0:11:07
And, in an attempt to surprise the unexpecting adventurers, | 0:11:07 | 0:11:11
for the first time in Scorpion history, | 0:11:11 | 0:11:13
it's a battle of boys versus girls. | 0:11:13 | 0:11:17
But who's going to be their first team captain? It's decision time. | 0:11:17 | 0:11:21
-Well, have you decided on team captains? -Yep. | 0:11:21 | 0:11:24
-OK, so who's going to be team captain for the boys? -Me. | 0:11:24 | 0:11:27
-Zach. OK, are you ready to lead your team into battle? -Yes! | 0:11:27 | 0:11:30
-Feeling confident? -Yes, I don't want to lose. | 0:11:30 | 0:11:33
OK, good on you, good luck. | 0:11:33 | 0:11:35
-Girls, have you decided on a team captain? -Lizzie! | 0:11:35 | 0:11:38
-Are you feeling confident? -Yep. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:40
-Do you think you can take on Zach? -Yes. | 0:11:40 | 0:11:42
We can take them on any day! | 0:11:42 | 0:11:45
Brilliant, so everyone's feeling very confident, | 0:11:45 | 0:11:47
but this might switch things up a little bit. | 0:11:47 | 0:11:50
On your parchments, you should also have a symbol. | 0:11:50 | 0:11:52
-Have you noticed that? -Yeah. | 0:11:52 | 0:11:55
You'll find that, throughout your island life, | 0:11:55 | 0:11:58
these symbols will be quite important. | 0:11:58 | 0:12:00
In fact, they're very important now, | 0:12:00 | 0:12:02
because in this bag I have ten symbols | 0:12:02 | 0:12:05
and I'm going to pick one out and if it's your symbol, | 0:12:05 | 0:12:08
you'll get to choose who goes first in today's island challenge. | 0:12:08 | 0:12:13
Who has this symbol? | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
Peter, you have this symbol. | 0:12:19 | 0:12:20
That means you get the choice of who goes first | 0:12:20 | 0:12:23
in the island challenge. This is important. | 0:12:23 | 0:12:25
I'm going to give you a few seconds to talk amongst yourselves. | 0:12:25 | 0:12:28
Let's go second. If we get to watch or something... | 0:12:28 | 0:12:31
Let's go second. | 0:12:31 | 0:12:32
-First. -Second, second, second. -So we can see how the girls are going on. | 0:12:32 | 0:12:38
Come on then, guys. I'm going to have to rush you. | 0:12:38 | 0:12:41
Zach, you took the lead. | 0:12:41 | 0:12:42
Have you made a decision together? | 0:12:42 | 0:12:44
Yeah, second. So that way we can see the girls, see what they're like | 0:12:44 | 0:12:48
and, hopefully, beat them by more. | 0:12:48 | 0:12:50
-Very clever. See how the girls fail, that's what you are hoping? -Yes. | 0:12:50 | 0:12:54
How do you feel about that girls, going first? | 0:12:54 | 0:12:56
We feel all right, but a bit annoyed. | 0:12:56 | 0:12:59
Guys, it is time for your first island challenge. | 0:12:59 | 0:13:01
So I suggest you all run off and go and join Myleene in the jungle. | 0:13:01 | 0:13:05
Off you, go on, guys. | 0:13:05 | 0:13:06
Who'll win today's challenge? It's all to play for. | 0:13:06 | 0:13:09
As they prepare to play the first round of the island challenge, | 0:13:13 | 0:13:17
let's get to know the girls. | 0:13:17 | 0:13:19
Khadie. | 0:13:19 | 0:13:20
I do football a lot, | 0:13:20 | 0:13:23
so I have to do training two times a week. | 0:13:23 | 0:13:27
And because I'm the youngest in that group, its quite hard, | 0:13:27 | 0:13:30
so I have to keep up with them. | 0:13:30 | 0:13:32
Natty. | 0:13:32 | 0:13:33
When I'm all fired up and stuff I get a bit pushy. | 0:13:33 | 0:13:36
Like, when you're on a netball court | 0:13:36 | 0:13:38
and you're really going for it. | 0:13:38 | 0:13:40
You start pushing the other team around, you know, | 0:13:40 | 0:13:42
trying to get the ball. | 0:13:42 | 0:13:43
So I do get a bit carried away like that. | 0:13:43 | 0:13:46
But I'll try my hardest on Scorpion Island not to get too carried away. | 0:13:46 | 0:13:50
Eleanor. | 0:13:50 | 0:13:51
At school, I'm the oldest of my little group of friends | 0:13:51 | 0:13:54
and I'm quite good at bossing people around, but I think that | 0:13:54 | 0:13:58
I like everyone to be happy what they're doing. | 0:13:58 | 0:14:00
Lizzie. | 0:14:00 | 0:14:02
If I was chosen for the challenge I would just focus hard. | 0:14:02 | 0:14:06
Because I'm profoundly deaf, I have to wear a cochlea implant, | 0:14:06 | 0:14:11
but that makes me listen to people instead. | 0:14:11 | 0:14:13
I've learned to lip-read from such a young age - since I was | 0:14:13 | 0:14:18
one and a half - so I've had the practice all these years, | 0:14:18 | 0:14:23
so I've got better at it. | 0:14:23 | 0:14:25
I lip-read people by the movement of their lips, like, | 0:14:25 | 0:14:28
even though I can't hear them. I just look at the movement of it | 0:14:28 | 0:14:33
and then I can know the words. | 0:14:33 | 0:14:36
And Jeremy. | 0:14:36 | 0:14:37
If I have an opinion I will put it forward. | 0:14:37 | 0:14:40
Sometimes I get into arguments, cos sometimes I like things my own way. | 0:14:40 | 0:14:46
So, when I have feelings, I kind of put them forward. | 0:14:46 | 0:14:48
Other people might take it nastily and sometimes | 0:14:48 | 0:14:51
you have little arguments, but I always make sure that they know | 0:14:51 | 0:14:55
it wasn't really to mean anything mean to them. | 0:14:55 | 0:14:58
So, it's time to reveal the island's first treasure, The Silver Eagle. | 0:15:03 | 0:15:07
The eagle represents Freedom, from the island, | 0:15:11 | 0:15:14
something that both our teams want but the fortune hunter was denied. | 0:15:14 | 0:15:18
First up, it's the girls. | 0:15:22 | 0:15:24
That's Eleanor... | 0:15:24 | 0:15:26
Natty... | 0:15:26 | 0:15:28
Khadie... | 0:15:28 | 0:15:29
Jeremy... | 0:15:29 | 0:15:32
and today's captain, Lizzie. | 0:15:32 | 0:15:34
This is Chasm Of Chaos. | 0:15:37 | 0:15:40
In the heart of the island is a huge ravine, with two crossings. | 0:15:42 | 0:15:46
Lower down is a flimsy bridge, on which four team members will stand, | 0:15:46 | 0:15:51
holding coloured nets. | 0:15:51 | 0:15:52
More than three storeys high is a precarious cable | 0:15:54 | 0:15:57
and the team captains will have to make their way across this, | 0:15:57 | 0:16:00
with nothing more than hoops and monkey bars for balance. | 0:16:00 | 0:16:03
Strapped to the edge of the wobbly platforms are four coloured cogs, | 0:16:04 | 0:16:08
which the captains have to detach one at a time and drop down | 0:16:08 | 0:16:12
into the matching coloured nets as quickly as possible. | 0:16:12 | 0:16:15
If a cog misses a net, or is otherwise lost, | 0:16:15 | 0:16:18
the captain has to head all the way across to the end platform, | 0:16:18 | 0:16:22
where there are two spares of each colour. | 0:16:22 | 0:16:24
So they have got three chances at each drop, | 0:16:24 | 0:16:27
but, of course, the more they use up, the more time is wasted. | 0:16:27 | 0:16:30
And the team which catches the right cogs in all four of their nets | 0:16:30 | 0:16:34
and then gets their captain onto the end platform the quickest, wins. | 0:16:34 | 0:16:38
They're playing for the first island treasure, | 0:16:40 | 0:16:42
The Silver Eagle, because the more treasures they win, | 0:16:42 | 0:16:46
the greater the advantage they'll have in the final race to escape. | 0:16:46 | 0:16:49
The boys have chosen to take this challenge on second, | 0:16:53 | 0:16:56
so they can watch the girls and learn from their tactics. | 0:16:56 | 0:16:58
It could be a real advantage when they take on the Chasm Of Chaos. | 0:16:58 | 0:17:03
OK, girls, are you ready? | 0:17:03 | 0:17:06
Yeah! | 0:17:06 | 0:17:07 | |
Three, two, one, go! | 0:17:07 | 0:17:11
Lizzie's wasting no time grabbing the red cog. | 0:17:13 | 0:17:15
-It's got to go into Khadie's red net. -To me, Lizzie! | 0:17:15 | 0:17:18
As quick as you can! | 0:17:20 | 0:17:21
They're asking her to get across to Khadie faster, | 0:17:21 | 0:17:24
but it's not easy at such a height. | 0:17:24 | 0:17:26
Lizzie is around five metres above the rest of the girls | 0:17:26 | 0:17:28
and they're already two storeys off the bottom of the chasm. | 0:17:28 | 0:17:32
So, with that in mind, Lizzie's moving impressively quickly | 0:17:33 | 0:17:36
and it's already giving the boys some ideas for their turn. | 0:17:36 | 0:17:39
I need to go down to whoever's holding that net and drop it in. | 0:17:39 | 0:17:43
-Do what they're doing. -Brilliant! Right, you ready? | 0:17:43 | 0:17:47
Bring it in a bit! | 0:17:47 | 0:17:48
So, Lizzie's in place, trying to gauge the perfect drop. | 0:17:48 | 0:17:52
At this height, it's so difficult. | 0:17:52 | 0:17:54
Please drop it, please drop it. | 0:17:54 | 0:17:56
-I'm not sure. -Try! Just try! | 0:17:56 | 0:17:59
And here she goes. | 0:17:59 | 0:18:00
Go! | 0:18:00 | 0:18:02 | |
-Oh, no. -Yes! | 0:18:02 | 0:18:03
Oh, Khadie missed it. | 0:18:03 | 0:18:05
Lizzie makes great time in getting in position for her first drop | 0:18:05 | 0:18:08
and Khadie seemed braced for the catch | 0:18:08 | 0:18:11
but Lizzie's aim is off and it just plummets past Khadie's net. | 0:18:11 | 0:18:15
Unlucky, but is it just the practise shot the girls needed? | 0:18:15 | 0:18:18
-Go again! Get a yellow! -Get the blue one. Get the blue, go on, quickly! | 0:18:19 | 0:18:24
-OK, I've got the yellow. -She's got a yellow. Yeah. | 0:18:24 | 0:18:28
That's a good idea. Instead of going back to get blue | 0:18:28 | 0:18:30
-and then over here... -Yeah, get the closest one. | 0:18:30 | 0:18:33
Come on, you're doing really well. | 0:18:33 | 0:18:36
Everyone seems to think this is a good tactic from Lizzie, but can | 0:18:36 | 0:18:39
she get the yellow cog in Natty's yellow net at the end of the bridge? | 0:18:39 | 0:18:42
She is moving so quickly across those ropes. | 0:18:42 | 0:18:46
The blue. Drop it in Natty's | 0:18:46 | 0:18:47
and then get the blue coming back. | 0:18:47 | 0:18:49
-The hard bit is trying to catch them. -Yeah. | 0:18:49 | 0:18:52
The boys think they're learning a lot here. | 0:18:52 | 0:18:54
Now, are they about to find out how to make a successful catch? | 0:18:54 | 0:18:57
-Go... Go! -Ready? | 0:18:59 | 0:19:02
-Oohh! -Missed! | 0:19:04 | 0:19:06
Lizzie takes a long time to aim this cog, | 0:19:06 | 0:19:10
but it bounces off the edge of Natty's net, | 0:19:10 | 0:19:13
it was certainly closer, | 0:19:13 | 0:19:14
but it's still two drops, two misses, for the girls. | 0:19:14 | 0:19:17
They really need to improve. | 0:19:17 | 0:19:18
-Line it up before you drop. -Yeah. | 0:19:22 | 0:19:23
Lizzy's collected the blue cog, | 0:19:25 | 0:19:27
but she can't afford to let the pressure get to her. | 0:19:27 | 0:19:31
Go. Go, quickly! Jeremy's got it, quickly! | 0:19:31 | 0:19:35
Eleanor seems to be taking charge, | 0:19:35 | 0:19:36
telling Lizzie to head all the way over to Jeremy. Good advice, | 0:19:36 | 0:19:40
-but can Lizzie follow it? -You're doing really well, Lizzie. | 0:19:40 | 0:19:43
The boys look nervous. | 0:19:43 | 0:19:45
Can Lizzie give them a real reason to fret? | 0:19:45 | 0:19:48
She's going for the drop. | 0:19:48 | 0:19:50
Yes! | 0:19:50 | 0:19:52 | |
First cog, it's the blue cog, Jeremy caught it. | 0:19:52 | 0:19:55
It's third time lucky for the girls. | 0:19:56 | 0:19:59
Lizzie throws the blue cog over, nearer the lower bridge. | 0:19:59 | 0:20:02
It's only a tiny adjustment, | 0:20:02 | 0:20:04
but enough for it to be within Jeremy's reach. Great stuff! | 0:20:04 | 0:20:07
-Lizzie! -Good job! | 0:20:07 | 0:20:09
-Go and get the green and the yellow! -OK. | 0:20:09 | 0:20:12
-Get yellow first! -Get the green one beneath your plank. | 0:20:12 | 0:20:15
-Get yellow first! -OK. | 0:20:15 | 0:20:18
Lizzie's heading all the way across to the spare cogs, | 0:20:19 | 0:20:23
but it must be so confusing for her. | 0:20:23 | 0:20:25
Her team mates are all giving her different advice. | 0:20:25 | 0:20:29
-Lizzie! Just get one at a time! -Come back and get the green. | 0:20:29 | 0:20:32
Still, she's collected another yel-... Oh, no! | 0:20:34 | 0:20:37
This could be bad news. | 0:20:38 | 0:20:40
While collecting a spare yellow, | 0:20:40 | 0:20:42
Lizzie manages to dislodge the other. | 0:20:42 | 0:20:45
Just over three minutes in, the girls have only made | 0:20:46 | 0:20:50
one successful catch - and they've lost two yellow cogs. | 0:20:50 | 0:20:53
If they're going to fill the nets, | 0:20:53 | 0:20:54
they've got to get this last yellow cog into Natty's net. | 0:20:54 | 0:20:59
They have to move fast now, but have to be bang on target. | 0:20:59 | 0:21:02
I need to get the aim perfect. | 0:21:02 | 0:21:06
Try to go as fast as you can, but take your time when you drop it. | 0:21:06 | 0:21:09
-Yeah. -And I'm not being funny. | 0:21:09 | 0:21:12
If I tell you to go left or right, please go, | 0:21:12 | 0:21:14
cos that'll help me greatly. | 0:21:14 | 0:21:16
The boys sound like they've got their plans together, | 0:21:16 | 0:21:20
but while they're in deep discussion | 0:21:20 | 0:21:22
they're missing some impressive cable-crossing from Lizzie. | 0:21:22 | 0:21:26
So brave. Now can she match this with an accurate drop? | 0:21:26 | 0:21:29
It's our last chance for yellow! We can do this! | 0:21:29 | 0:21:33
I'm holding it here. It's up to you. | 0:21:33 | 0:21:35
-You can do this. -Is it in there? | 0:21:35 | 0:21:37
OK, is it right? | 0:21:39 | 0:21:40
-Guys? -Oh, no! | 0:21:40 | 0:21:42
-Yes! They're not going to get that. -They haven't got yellow cog. | 0:21:42 | 0:21:45
Lizzie's aim is good, but Natty's concentration is off | 0:21:45 | 0:21:50
at the very moment of the drop. | 0:21:50 | 0:21:51
It catches her by surprise, | 0:21:51 | 0:21:53
so she doesn't react quickly enough to catch the cog. | 0:21:53 | 0:21:56
So their last yellow cog has gone, as well as any chance the girls had | 0:21:56 | 0:22:01
of filling all four nets. Nightmare! | 0:22:01 | 0:22:03
There's no telling the boys won't make an equally big mistake, | 0:22:06 | 0:22:09
so the girls really need to push on and try to make three catches. | 0:22:09 | 0:22:13
It could still be enough to win. | 0:22:13 | 0:22:15
Brilliant! | 0:22:15 | 0:22:18
Come on, Lizzie, that's how to do it! | 0:22:18 | 0:22:20
Well done, Lizzie. I'm green. | 0:22:20 | 0:22:22
Lizzie's heading to the middle, | 0:22:22 | 0:22:24
to drop this green cog into Eleanor's net. | 0:22:24 | 0:22:27
Can they both keep their cool? | 0:22:27 | 0:22:29
And what are the boys learning from watching? | 0:22:29 | 0:22:31
I've noticed why she's dropping them. | 0:22:31 | 0:22:35
they're not putting the net out far enough. | 0:22:35 | 0:22:37
So put it out a bit further for me, so that way I can just drop it. | 0:22:37 | 0:22:44
Zach has got this worked out, | 0:22:44 | 0:22:46
but it seems much tougher when you're way up there, | 0:22:46 | 0:22:49
with nothing but the hoops and monkey bars for balance. | 0:22:49 | 0:22:53
Can Lizzie keep focussed and make a successful drop to Eleanor? | 0:22:53 | 0:22:56
OK, right, there. | 0:22:57 | 0:22:59
OK! Go! | 0:22:59 | 0:23:01
-Ready? -Concentrate. -Ready! | 0:23:02 | 0:23:05
Catch it, catch it, catch it. | 0:23:05 | 0:23:07
Go! | 0:23:07 | 0:23:08 | |
-ALL: Yes! -Yes! | 0:23:08 | 0:23:10
She got it. | 0:23:10 | 0:23:11
This is just what the girls needed, | 0:23:13 | 0:23:16
and with some terrific team work just what they deserved. | 0:23:16 | 0:23:19
Lizzie's aim is perfect and Eleanor follows it with her eyes, | 0:23:19 | 0:23:22
all the way into her net, | 0:23:22 | 0:23:23
so in just under six minutes they've made two catches. | 0:23:23 | 0:23:27
Now, can they make it three? | 0:23:27 | 0:23:29
Lizzie is racing across towards the spare cogs | 0:23:31 | 0:23:33
at the far end of the cable again. | 0:23:33 | 0:23:36
It's so wobbly up there, but she's not letting it worry her. | 0:23:36 | 0:23:40
Then again, perhaps you wouldn't expect it | 0:23:40 | 0:23:42
to worry the girl who arrived on the island and said this... | 0:23:42 | 0:23:46
I'm fearless and nothing about Scorpion Island scares me. | 0:23:46 | 0:23:49
Well, that much is clear - and it could be great news for the girls. | 0:23:50 | 0:23:54
You can do it, Lizzie! | 0:23:56 | 0:23:58
Excellent work! She's made it to the spare cogs. | 0:23:58 | 0:24:01
She's got a red one. | 0:24:01 | 0:24:02
If they get this, we need to get four. | 0:24:04 | 0:24:07
Three's the safe point, if they get three, but four is the one to get. | 0:24:08 | 0:24:12
-We need to get four. -We have to beat them! | 0:24:12 | 0:24:14
The boys sound defiant, | 0:24:14 | 0:24:16
but also a little anxious. They can see how hard this is. | 0:24:16 | 0:24:20
Can the girls give them something to really worry about, | 0:24:20 | 0:24:23
by getting this into Khadie's net? | 0:24:23 | 0:24:25
Brilliant! Right, go onto the plank. | 0:24:27 | 0:24:29
The first cog Lizzie dropped here was a red one, | 0:24:31 | 0:24:35
but Khadie had no chance of catching it. | 0:24:35 | 0:24:38
Lizzie seems to have her eye in, so will she be able to make it | 0:24:38 | 0:24:41
-easier for Khadie this time? -OK. -Come on! | 0:24:41 | 0:24:43
Lizzie is concentrating | 0:24:43 | 0:24:45
and she's really leaning | 0:24:45 | 0:24:47
into the drop. | 0:24:47 | 0:24:48
GIRLS: Yes! | 0:24:48 | 0:24:49
She got it, Khadie got it. | 0:24:49 | 0:24:51
We've got a blue, a green and a red. | 0:24:51 | 0:24:53
-Girls are flying through this. -Brilliant! | 0:24:53 | 0:24:55
At just over seven minutes, the girls made their third catch. | 0:24:55 | 0:24:59
Maybe Khadie learnt from Eleanor, | 0:24:59 | 0:25:01
because she doesn't let the cog out of sight | 0:25:01 | 0:25:03
until it hits her net, either. | 0:25:03 | 0:25:05
Because they haven't got any more yellow cogs | 0:25:05 | 0:25:08
this was the last catch they can make. | 0:25:08 | 0:25:10
So they just need Lizzie to get to the end platform, ASAP. | 0:25:10 | 0:25:14
Right, get back to the platform, quickly! Get onto the platform! | 0:25:15 | 0:25:19
She is racing back. Oh, but what's she up to now? | 0:25:19 | 0:25:22
No! You just need to get onto the platform and then we're finished! | 0:25:22 | 0:25:26
Lizzie is confused, but the clock's ticking | 0:25:26 | 0:25:28
and she needs to start doing what Eleanor says - and fast. | 0:25:28 | 0:25:32
Get on the platform! | 0:25:32 | 0:25:34
Do whatever you think is right. | 0:25:34 | 0:25:37
And she's there! | 0:25:37 | 0:25:38
Guys, that's the end of the game! | 0:25:38 | 0:25:42
Well, Lizzie's across, but just when her team needed her | 0:25:42 | 0:25:45
to move at top speed, she wasted time, | 0:25:45 | 0:25:48
which, depending on how the boys do, could prove crucial. | 0:25:48 | 0:25:52
Still, it was a good effort, but what did they make of it? | 0:25:52 | 0:25:56
It's a lot harder than it looks, cos when you see it from here | 0:25:56 | 0:25:59
you think "Oh, that's going to be so easy." | 0:25:59 | 0:26:01
But it wasn't and I think Lizzie did really well. | 0:26:01 | 0:26:04
My team mates performed really well, because they put all the... | 0:26:04 | 0:26:08
They tried their hardest | 0:26:08 | 0:26:10
and three of them out of four got their cogs in. So it was all good. | 0:26:10 | 0:26:14
Over all, I think we all did perfectly. | 0:26:14 | 0:26:16
I think we did fine for a first time. | 0:26:16 | 0:26:18
You didn't do perfectly, Jeremy, but it was a strong first showing. | 0:26:20 | 0:26:25
Captain Lizzie never seemed troubled at having to work | 0:26:25 | 0:26:28
at such an extraordinary height and moved at impressive speed. | 0:26:28 | 0:26:32
She did send the first two cogs tumbling, | 0:26:32 | 0:26:34
but with solid back-up from Jeremy, managed to get the third in. | 0:26:34 | 0:26:38
And this was where things really went wrong for the girls. | 0:26:38 | 0:26:42
Lizzie dislodged one spare yellow cog while collecting the next. | 0:26:42 | 0:26:46
Then, Natty wasn't paying attention when it dropped. She missed it. | 0:26:46 | 0:26:49
That meant, with all three yellow cogs lost, | 0:26:49 | 0:26:51
they could not fill all four nets. | 0:26:51 | 0:26:54
They did battle on, | 0:26:54 | 0:26:55
and with the help of some outstanding direction from Eleanor, | 0:26:55 | 0:26:58
managed to net three cogs, finishing in seven minutes, 40 seconds. | 0:26:58 | 0:27:03
The question is, have they done enough to win The Silver Eagle, | 0:27:03 | 0:27:06
or can the boys do better? | 0:27:06 | 0:27:08
Next time, the girls and the boys | 0:27:11 | 0:27:13
discover the fortune hunter's extraordinary camps, | 0:27:13 | 0:27:16
but it's been a while since they've been lived in. | 0:27:16 | 0:27:19
It's a little dark and dull, and it's smelly, too. | 0:27:19 | 0:27:23
Looks like it's been dumped there. | 0:27:23 | 0:27:25
Who is this mysterious character that breached the island's defences? | 0:27:25 | 0:27:30
I'm not really sure about the fortune hunter. | 0:27:30 | 0:27:34
I'm just a bit curious about where this person is. | 0:27:34 | 0:27:37
And the boys have to face the Chasm of Chaos, | 0:27:39 | 0:27:41
to win the first island treasure. But the pressure is on. | 0:27:41 | 0:27:45
Yes! | 0:27:45 | 0:27:47 | |
