It's so cold today.

It might even snow.

Actually, snow is lots of fun.

There's something I love making out of snow.

Do you know what it is?

A snowman!

Shall we squiggle our own snowman?

What sort of line could we use?

Let's have a look.

It's a curved line.

Have you got your squiggle pads?

And squiggle sticks ready?

Now it's time to get squiggling.

Let's all squiggle the snowman's body.

We'll need a curved line.

I love curved lines.

Squiggle one with me.

Put your squiggle stick on your squiggle pad.

We need a curved line, up,

curve over the top

and down the other side.

What's yours like?

Up,

curve over the top

We'll draw a line underneath.

That's our snowman's body.

Now we need a round line,

to make his head.

A circle.

Then two eyes.

One, two.

A smiley mouth.

And some stick arms.

One,

two.

Three buttons,

one,

two,

three.

And a carrot nose.

He looks like a lovely snowman. Doesn't he?

Shall we meet him?

Let's all squiggle our way into Steve's snow cave.

We'll need another curved line for that.

It's going to make an arch.

Start at the bottom,

and go up, up

and curve over the top

and down the other side.

There, one snow cave doorway.

We just need a straight line for the ground.

And over the top, a wavy line

to make a snow drift.

Let's colour it in.

What colour are you going to make yours?

There! Our lovely snow cave is ready.

I'll just go and get my suitcase.

Right, Steve, what have you got inside it?

Um... this beach ball,

these sunglasses

and some sun cream,

to stop me getting burnt in the sun.

Very sensible.

Holiday, here I come!

Where are you going?

To the seaside. I've never been before.

Well, come on, then, let's go!

Yay! I'm on holiday at the seaside!

Oh, the sand's so sandy,

not like snow at all!

Oh, and the sun's so sunny!

Don't forget your sun cream.

Oh, yes.

Ah! Right!

what exactly are you supposed to do at the seaside?

I can answer that!

I'm a crab and I live here.

I recommend you play beach ball,

build a sand castle and go for a paddle in the sea.

but the sun's very hot.

You're made of snow

and snow starts to melt in the sun.

Oh! Phew!

It is a bit hot.

Oh, I don't want to melt

but I don't want to go home either.

Oh, how can I play in the sun and stay cool?

We could squiggle you a sun hat.

That'll shade you and keep you cool.

Let's start with the top of the hat.

We can use our curved line again.

Up, curve over

and down the other side.

Now we need another curved line,

at the bottom of the hat...

..to make a shady brim.

One sun hat.

I'm going to colour mine yellow.

What colour are you going to make yours?

Our sun hat is ready to wear.

I feel cooler already.

But what were the other two things we were going to do?

Build a sandcastle...

And go for a paddle in the sea.

Oh, yes!

Now I remember.

I'm going to build a sand penguin

instead of a sandcastle.

You look like you're having fun.

Phew! It's hot work.

Ah! But now it's finished!

One sand penguin.

It looks great.

Yes. But I need to cool down again.

Let's see if we can get a clue from the squiggle pad.

Mum's pouring juice into the plastic mould, orange juice.

And blackcurrant juice.

They're making ice lollies.

Pop them into the freezer...

..and they've come out frozen.

Mmm, an icy cool treat for a hot day.

I love them.

I really miss the cool, refreshing ice.

Would you like an ice lolly?

I'm sure that would cool me down.

Then we can squiggle one for you.

We'll need our curved line again.

Go up, up

and curve over the top,

then down the other side.

We need a line across the bottom.

That's the ice lolly part.

We just need the stick.

Two straight lines down

and let's join them up with a curved line.

There! One ice lolly.

Why don't we colour it in?

What flavour would you like?

Mmm, I'm going to make mine a strawberry one.

and there's snow and sea,

instead of sand and sea.

And best of all, it's lovely and cold,

so you won't melt.

In fact, it's really cold.

just the way I like it.
