Can you guess what I'm pretending to be?

I'm furry, with a long tail and whiskers.

And I like to lie in the sun.

Shall we squiggle our own cat?

What sort of line could we use? Let's have a look.

It's a straight line.

We can start with our cat's whiskers.

We'll need straight lines for those.

I love straight lines. Squiggle one with me!

Now, a little nose in the middle.

Curve round.

Let's squiggle our cat's head.

We can use a round line. Round and round.

Two eyes - one, two.

And a smiley mouth.

Now for her ears.

Up, down.

Up, down.

She needs a round body.

Some legs.

With little claws.

And a wavy tail.

And there's our cat.

Shall we meet her?

In a beautiful pea-green boat

My uncle told me lots about the creatures that live in the sea.

Starfish that look like stars

and octopuses with eight wiggly-jiggly legs!

He gave me his hat to help make me brave, just like him.

Brave enough to go to sea.

But I can't seem to find the seaside.

No problem. We can squiggle it for you.

We can use some more straight lines to squiggle a jetty over the water.

Let's use some more straight lines

to squiggle four posts that stick into the ground.

We'll need some curved lines to make a rope.

One jetty.

The sea's quite wet, isn't it?

Cat's don't like the wet.

I think I want to go home!

Well, I have got my brave hat on, I suppose.

Whoa! Oh, my hat!

It's gone!

But how can we get it back?

I'll never be a brave adventurer without it!

Let's go to the beach. It might wash up onto the shore.

Ohh. My hat's gone even further out!

Don't worry. I know a way to get it back without getting wet -

with a fishing rod!

But I don't have a fishing rod.

We can squiggle one for you.

We can use our straight line again, for the long fishing rod.

Ready?

Up, up, all the way up,

across, and a long, straight line back down.

And join it up.

There's our rod.

Now another straight line for the fishing line,

with a little curved hook on the end.

Now all we need is a round reel.

I'm colouring my fishing rod yellow. What colour are you making yours?

Finished. One fishing rod.

I'll reel it in.

Even the fishing rod can't reach it now.

We'll need some more straight lines for the shape of the submarine.

Then one more curved line back to the beginning again.

We need three round lines to make some windows.

With some more round lines inside.

Let's squiggle the top of the submarine.

And we'll draw a periscope to look through when we're under the water.

I'm colouring my submarine pea-green,

like Kitty's uncle's boat.
