The Dabedeens - Croatia Gimme a Break

Parents beware. The next half hour is likely to be scary, shocking,

perhaps even frightening. It's time for Gimme A Break,

where the kids take control of the family holiday.

The kids have all the say. They decide where they go, what to do,

and they're in charge of the holiday rules.

Today's family are the Dabadeen family! Head chef Papa.

Restaurant manager Mum.

12-year-old Tisha.

And 10-year-old Nisha.

Why do Nisha and Tisha need to be given a break?

On holiday, Papa's always like a lazy cat, I would say!

I like to have a bit of sleep.

And he snores like a big grizzly bear.

My mum gets scared very quick.

Say she's going into the sea, she gets very scared.

I hate any activities when it comes to the sea.

I get very scared.

My mum is terrible. She takes chilli sauce everywhere.

I love my chillies. Really.

I cannot eat no food without my chilli sauce.

We like everything hot.

When she saw me, she said, "You're quite hot!"

When we go on holiday, my mum shops and shops and shops.

If there's no shopping, no holiday!

When my mum takes out her chilli sauce and my dad goes to bed,

I can say, "Give me a break! I'm in charge!"

It's a good job we're here. Your holidays need sorting out.

So we went to discuss what the girls wanted from their break

and to show off my skills.

After listening to the girls,

we've put together three amazing breaks to choose from.

First, let's see if they can work out what's on offer.

First up, a park where the clues are pretty hard to find.

"Are you up for a whale of a time?" What does that mean?

I saw a splash of water with a whale's tail in it.

Yeah. "Saddle up for an explosive break!"

I think we might be visiting whales, but seeing them with binoculars.

I think we'd be going to a volcanic island

and we'd be looking for whales, dolphins and sea creatures.

Break One has the girls bubbling with excitement.

Next up, a swimming pool where the clues are underwater.

Nice hats, by the way, girls!

Look closely - there's a clue in there.

It gave me a clue that it would be a fishing holiday. "Cast your rod."

Nisha is along the right lines.

Now all they need to do is get in and reel in the clues! IN the boat!

I think the flag was of France. Yeah.

Interesting. French, huh?

I had a lot of trouble with the fishing rod

-so I had to send my sister in.

I thought the picture of the dog was to do with farming or something.

This funny man came up, dressed up in weird clothes. He made me laugh.

He gave us chocolate and a hat. We didn't know what it was for.

Maybe it doesn't go this way. ..I'm not sure where we're going.

You'd explore the city and visit the fantastic fortress there.

You'd learn to make chocolate,

and then try dry tobogganing.

Salzburg's best known for Mozart, but is it music to your ears?

Well, girls, there you go. Three to choose from. Not easy.

the girls couldn't decide and they asked me to do the flip of a coin.

It's late and there are only two ways to get to the island hotel.

Swim 4.4km across the sea

or travel by private speedboat.

-I am very, very scared,

but the crew has reassured me. The boat is safe.

After a 20-minute speedboat ride, they arrive at their hotel,

but there's only time to check in and crash out!

It's the first morning

and time for Mum and Dad to find out what they have to wear.

I can't wear that black dress when it's boiling hot outside here.

We got stuck on a rock and had to put all our weight forward.

Then we all fell backwards!

My mum was screaming the most. She was so scared it would turn over.

I was screaming because I was having fun! So much fun!

I really enjoyed sports activities,

watersports activities, as a family.

After that success, they take a quick sightseeing tour

of Dubrovnik old town before the last family activity,

but that's not on Mum's mind.

It was really hard standing outside the shop when you love shopping

-and cannot go in!

Oh, dear. Mum, I'd be getting a little bit worried.

These rule breaks are starting to add up.

Time for the last family activity.

The girls have taken Mum and Dad to Dubrovnik water polo club

to test their skills against Croatia's finest.

They're ready - it's game time!

After the success of water polo, they decide to go kayaking,

but paddling about isn't really the plan.
