I'm reading up on rare plants. Did you know that some plants only grow

-in one place in the whole world?

place where there's just the right amount of sun and water for them.

Making clouds is complicated stuff.

The heat from the sun warms up water

and turns it into an invisible gas called water vapour.

You with me so far?

-So...Water + Heat = Water Vapour.

Now, this water vapour rises up in the sky to where the air is colder

and then turns back into tiny droplets of water, making clouds.

-Clouds are made of water?

-Yep!

Millions and millions of tiny droplets of water.

And today we're off to Table Mountain in South Africa,

which is a great place for clouds.

Unlike most mountains,

Table Mountain doesn't have a pointy peak - it's flat, like a table.

# Two! #

The sun heats up the sea, making water vapour,

which rises up the mountain's sloping sides.

As it rises to the top, where the air is cooler,

the water vapour cools down and turns into clouds,

which cover the flat top of the mountain, like a tablecloth.

# One! #

Table Mountain is home to lots of rare plants

that don't grow anywhere else in the world.
