Wow, look at all the eggs.

There's ten eggs.

The mummy's flown in.

She sits on her eggs to keep them warm so they hatch.

She's wriggling like jelly now.

Jelly?

There is the daddy.

He's come to give the mummy some food.

The birdies are called bluetits.

Our pictures aren't in colour, but we like it that way.

Here's what they look like in colour.

They have blue, green and yellow feathers with white cheeks

and black stripes running across their eyes.

We're coming another day to see the birdies hatch.

Two legs or four legs, which is best?

Most animals have four, but two have the rest

Some creatures have four legs like dogs, lizards and cats

Others have just two, like humans, birds and bats

The cheater is the fastest and he has four

But bugs aren't so quick and most of them have more

Now I know someone who would never be late

For she's a spider and she has eight

The giraffe's four legs are long and tall

And the ant's six legs are very, very small

I think my legs are better than them all.

Wow, look. There's one from Dan.

He's four today. Happy Birthday, Dan.

He's at the Norfolk show. Let's see what else he's up to.

This is Daniel and his cousin Melissa.

Their family has lots of goats.

Daniel and Melissa will be taking part

in the young goat handler competition.

Look at the different types of goats they have.

Some of them have sticky up ears and some of them have floppy ears.

They both love their goats very much.

Ouch!

Cheeky!

Melissa's going first in the competition with her goat.

To show your goat you have to make sure you're smartly dressed

wearing a nice white coat.

The judges are looking to see if the young handlers

can control their goats.

And that both the goat and the handler look really smart.

Look at the judge making notes.

Melissa has to make sure her goat stands up perfectly.

Then the judge asks her to take the goat for a walk

so they can see how Melissa handles it.

The judge checks the teeth and feet

to make sure the goat is nice and healthy.

Now the judges are making up their minds.

Good luck, Melissa.

Look! The judge is giving Melissa an award.

She's won the fourth prize. Well done, Melissa.

Now it's Daniel's turn to show his goat.

He looks very smart in his farmers hat.

It's his birthday today. Let's hope he wins a prize.

Daniel is handling the goat with the floppy ears.

They're called anglo-nubians.

The judge checks the goat is nice and healthy.

Hi, I'm Ant and I'm looking for creatures that make you squirm.

I'm going on a bug hunt. Do you want to come with me?

-Hi, I'm Ant and this is Bradley.

-Hi.

He lives here at the butterfly house and I'm on a bug hunt.

So I though you'd be the perfect person to help me.

-Can you show me around?

-Yeah, sure.

OK then. Let's go.

Look at that fish.

Yes, that's really big.

-I think that's the biggest one in the pond.

-Yes.

Do you know what they are?

I spy some stick insects.

Wow.

We have to pick them up very carefully.

They feel very prickly.

That's why they're called giant prickly stick insects.

Mine's staying really still.

I think it thinks I'm going to eat it, but I'm not.

Have you noticed they've got, like, leaves on their back?

Yes. They look a bit like wings.

So, what are you going to call yours?

Spikes. Because it's spiky.

I think I might call mine Scorpio

because its tail goes up like a Scorpio.

It's time to make a bug file.

They have six legs.

Life span - one year.

I give the stick insect a squirm rating of 1 out of 5

because I wasn't really scared of them.

Did you know that stick insects shed their skin like snakes?

These are giant African land snails.

You normally see snails in your garden,

but not this big!

The main body of a snail is called a foot.

-But that doesn't look much like our foot, does it?

-No.

Look at the size of your snail's foot!

It's massive.

Snails are very slimy.

They have a shell to protect themselves

-from predators that could eat them.

-Yes.

Well it has one foot.

I give the snails a squirm rating of 2 out of 5

because I didn't really like them because they were slimy.

I wonder, if a snail could talk would it talk really slow?

Curled in her basket, Skipper is dreaming.

She's dreaming of fun in the city today.

Then in a twinkle with a wag of her tail

she's off on adventures in lands far, far away.

There's not many animals here,

but maybe there are some parks.

Barking bones! What's that?

Ah, monkeys!

In the city? Brrr, I must be dreaming.

Skipper's discovered the city monkey gangs in South Africa.

And it looks like she wants to join in the fun.

These monkeys certainly know how to climb.

Wait a minute. Where are they going?

Woah, woah, this is a little bit tricky.

Oh, oh, it's not that easy.

Oh, no.

Oi! Don't push in, cheeky monkey.

I'm a tight-rope walker!

The monkeys are off to one of their favourite places in the city.

The golf course.

They're chasing the ball.

Hey, that's my job. I'm the dog.

Aww, look. There's a new member of the gang.

Aww, sweet.

And luckily the baby monkey knows how to hold on.

These cheeky monkeys know how to get a meal in the city.

The adventure is over. Skipper's back in her bed.

With visions of monkeys going round in her head.

They'll never believe the things I have seen.
