But right now here's a trick you can try on your mates.

You will need - one, a bowl of cold water.

Two, a glass.

And three, some kitchen roll.

If you haven't got them already, go and get them now - quick, hurry!

and bring it out without it getting wet?

We're going to try something really bizarre with my watch. OK?

Now, this is one of those old-fashioned watches

where you have to set the time using the stem.

Watch the watch. Something awesome's about to happen!

Look, if you take the stem out and turn it,

you can make the time be sort of 3:20, or...

I don't know, we can get 12:25.

Or you could even get 6:05, OK? Lots of different times.

Ryland, what I'd like you to do is turn that stem as much as you want

then, whenever you feel like, just stop.

Ryland's winding the watch to change the time.

-OK.

-OK. And just push it in so I can't cheat and change the time.

Great. Now, if you could, just remember what that time is.

-Have you got it?

-OK.

-Great. And hold your hand out.

-So Ryland's remembered a time on the watch.

-Now I can't get that watch.

OK? I'm going to try and read your mind.

So you're thinking of a time. OK, keep thinking of that time.

OK, yeah, I think I know what this is. This is...

Are you thinking of 9:10?

-Yeah.

-Whoa, how did that happen?!

-Do you know what's even more amazing?

-There's no hands on that watch.

-Whoa. Oh, my gosh!

That was incredible. I didn't give anything away.

Then the hands just disappeared. It was... It was kind of scary.

Me and Fergus challenged you to put this tissue paper

under the cold water and bring it out without it getting wet.

Come on, have you worked it out? How many of you got it?

You put the kitchen roll in the bottom of the glass

and put it mouth-down in the bowl of water.

Fergus is putting it under the water, but it won't get wet.

Check this out.

It is as dry as a bone. Let's get a rewind.

You need to make sure you push the tissue paper right

up tight into the cup, so it stays there.

That will leave enough room for air in the cup

and that's how it stays dry.

Did you get it? Are you amazing already?

Now you've all got something to show off with at home.

They're are about to see an awesome trick that will bend their minds!

I'm going to show you something very cool with this piece of plastic.

Now, have you ever collected any gaming cards?

-Yeah.

-You have done? Well, this is what is used to protect the cards.

So I want you both to have a look at that for me,

because actually I can get it to do some very strange things

with a straw.

So I'm going to put these ones away in my pocket.

And what I'd like you to do, Emily,

is just hold your hand out with your palm up and your fingers all spread.

That's perfect.

And if we just get the cameraman to come in over the top here,

so everyone can see at home

and if you guys could just stare through the top of the lens as well.

Can you see that there? Can you see the straw lying across your fingers?

Yeah? Now watch.

If I turn...the piece of plastic...

Whoa! It looks like the middle of the straw has vanished!

-Can you see that?

-It's amazing!

-Whoa.

It's very cool, but there's more to come.

If I turn it back...

it actually reappears again on your hand.

It's very strange. And watch this...

Can you see, if I twist it,

it looks as if the straw is actually twisting in your hand.

-Can you see that?

-Yeah.

-Can you feel anything, Emily?

-No.

You can't feel anything?

Well, because actually it looks like it's twisting

because it is twisting and it's melting into a knot.

-Whoa,

-Whoa! Now that's good!

Wow, that is amazing!
