OK, I'll tell you. Today's delicious recipe is...

Sunshine muffins.

But before we get started on the cooking,

we've got to do something first. What do you think it is?

-ALL: Wash our hands!

-That's right, we've got to wash our hands.

Off you go.

Let's get started.

The first thing we have to do is break an egg into a cup.

What animal does an egg like this come from?

-Chicken.

-Who can pretend to be a chicken?

THEY CLUCK LIKE CHICKENS

So we've got our little egg here,

and we're going to knock, knock, knock on the door, like this.

Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock! And then we use our thumbs

to open the shell, and out comes the egg.

Can you go, "Knock, knock, knock"? That's it!

Ooh!

So now, we need to do some whisking. we're going to whisk

really, really, really fast. Go!

Keep whisking until you've got a gloopy mixture, like this.

Gloopy, gloopy!

And then, when you've whisked it all up,

we're going to pour the egg into this bowl, which has yoghurt

and sunflower oil in it. Splosh!

And then, give that bowl a mix with your fork.

And you can mix with us. You get a bowl and a fork

and you mix, mix, mix!

That's it.

Everyone stop for a minute. Put your wet bowl aside. We'll use it later.

In this bowl, we've got wholemeal flour, all brown and speckly,

along with some oats. To this, we'll add

some soft brown sugar, some mixed spice and some baking powder.

Mixed spice will add lots of flavour.

And the baking powder is magic! Ohhh!

And it's going to make our muffins rise up when they go in the oven.

Shall we all pretend to rise up? We go down like this.

Oo-oo-oo-ooh-up!

And now, be muffins! Hello, I'm a muffin!

Shall we put these ingredients in the dry bowl? Sprinkle them in,

then give everything a really good mix.

-Until you can't see anything.

-That's right.

-The flour

sucked it up, maybe.

-Like this!

a mango!

We're going to need a mango for our sunshine muffins.

Let's find out more about mangoes on my computer.

Come on, we'll have a look together.

Mangoes grow in hot countries, on very tall trees.

They are picked using long poles that have a net on the end.

The pole knocks the mangoes off the tree and they fall into the net.

They are then taken away to be sorted

and are boxed up to be sent to other countries, like ours.

Wow, that was really interesting!

Come on, let's get back to the cooking.

Now, mangoes have a green and red skin,

like this one here.

But it's amazing, because when you open them up,

they're a lovely golden colour, like this.

And this is the perfect ray of sunshine for our sunshine muffins.

So, we'll put our dry bowl over to the side,

and we're going to cut up our lovely mango.

But before we do that, there's something very important to do.

We have to do a mango face! Stretch out your arms and legs really big,

then you have to make your eyes really big, and your nose and mouth.

And we go like this. Ma-a-an-go fa-a-ace!

Can you do a mango face? Ready? Ma-a-an-go fa-a-ace!

Uh-huh-huh!

Now, we're going to use a table knife to cut up our mango.

Some knives can be quite sharp, so you do have to be careful.

But a table knife is the same kind of knife that you use to eat with,

so it's fine to use. So, take your slippery mango.

What does it feel like?

Squishy!

It's wiggly!

So we get our table knife,

and we're going to cut each slice into four pieces, like this.

One...

Two...

three.

Because three slices makes four pieces.

When you've chopped your mango up, put it in the dry bowl.

Where do you think mangoes come from?

-Malaysia?

-That's right, Carmen. They can come from Malaysia.

Or they can come from the Caribbean, the Philippines, or India.

Has everyone put their mango in their bowl?

Now we just need to mix it up and cover the mango with all the flour.

Lily, what's happening to the mango?

The mango's going underneath the flour.

It's disappearing. Then we'll put our wet bowl into our dry bowl,

and we're going to splosh it in.

And you can splosh with us. Ready?

One, two, three, splosh!

Ooh! And then use your spoon to get the rest of the mixture out.

-That's it. And what do you think we have to do then?

-Stir it!

Stir it up. And this time, we need to do a really big stir.

So get a big bowl and a big spoon, and stir, stir, stir!

We're doing a lot of stirring today.

-It's all gooey!

-It's all sticky!

-I love it when it's gooey and sticky.

And now, it's time to play the Two Spoon Game!

Everyone, get your spoons.

Now, my spoons are called Margaret and Ethel.

Now, Margaret is going to scoop up the muffin mixture

and Ethel is going to slide it off.

Excellent. The final thing we're going to do

is sprinkle some pumpkin seeds on the top.

Shall we go, "Sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle"?

-Sprinkle, sprinkle.

-Can you do some sprinkling?

Sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle! What will happen

to the pumpkin seeds in the oven?

-Stick on it.

-They'll stick to the muffin?

-Yes.

-I think you're right.

So put the last pumpkin seed on. And that's it!

You've made it! You put all the ingredients together

for your sunshine muffins, all by yourself.

And now, it's time to put our sunshine muffins into the oven.

But remember, the oven is hot, so don't go near.
