Who wants to know what we will make today?

Today we are going to make...

-banana and blueberry ice cream.

There's something really important we have to do first. What is it?

The first thing we do to make our banana and blueberry ice cream

-is get some lemon juice. Where does lemon juice come from?

-Lemons!

We will squeeze as much juice out of these lemons as possible.

This is fresh lemon juice because it comes straight from the lemon.

-It smells really nice.

-It's very strong.

Who can do a lemon face?

Let's do some squeezing. One, two, three, squeeze!

If you've got any pips in your bowl, just pick them out.

The pips are the seeds.

Hold it like this and push your fingers together.

That's it, Ryan!

You can do some squeezing at home, like this.

Be careful not to get lemon near your eyes, because it will sting.

Cover up any cuts on your fingers, or it will really sting.

Wipe your hands, everybody,

The next ingredient we need is a cream cheese called mascarpone.

-Mascarpone?

-That's right.

Let's mash it up with the back of our fork.

Squish, squash! Oh, look at that.

Squish, squash!

Squish! It looks like mashed potato.

When you have finished mashing, we put the lemon juice into it.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Mix the lemon juice with the mascarpone.

Next we add some icing sugar.

-Do you know what icing sugar does?

-It makes the ice cream sweet.

We are going to measure three level dessert spoons of icing sugar.

Put your spoon into the icing sugar then pat it down

so that it's nice and level.

Pat, pat, pat until it's flat.

-Pat until it's nice and flat.

-Let's see you patting.

-Let's count them in.

-One...two...

-And the third one.

-Three!

-Brilliant.

Give it a really good mix.

Get a bowl and a big spoon and mix, mix, mix.

We will need blueberries in our banana and blueberry ice cream.

Welcome to the garden.

Where will we find blueberries? Under the ground?

In the greenhouse?

-Or on bushes?

-In the bushes.

Blueberries grow on bushes but you can grow them in the greenhouse.

-Why might they be hard to find?

-Because they're small

and all the plants are big.

We need to find the bushes.

I've got a blueberry here to give us a clue.

-Shall we go on a blueberry hunt?

-Come on, let's go.

-What are they?

-Strawberries.

They're not blueberries. How about over there?

We're not allowed to eat the green ones.

We've got our lovely blueberries from the garden.

Let's put 12 blueberries into our ice cream.

Let's give everything a good old stir.

Let's pretend to be a whizzing machine.

Stop stirring for a minute. The last thing we need is a banana.

Shall I show you how to peel a banana?

Take the top off and peel it off.

-It's like a sleeping bag for the banana.

-And then it's morning!

-We've got to wake the banana up.

-Good morning, Mr Banana.

We're going to mash the banana with the back of our fork.

Can you do some squishing and squashing? Squish! Squash!

-Squashed it!

-Brilliant.

Now we add the banana to the bowl.

Put it in your bowl. The lemon juice will keep the banana fresh.

-I've got squishy fingers. Shall we give them a wipe?

-Yes.

Now we mix the banana up with everything else.

Look at that!

We pour the mixture into a plastic container.

We can gloop it in. Gloop!

Make sure you use all of your mixture.

You did it. Let's put the lids on.

And that's it! You've made it.

You put the ingredients together for your ice cream all by yourself.

Now it's time to put our banana and blueberry ice cream in the freezer.

While we wait for it to freeze, there's one thing left to do.

It's mascarpone cheese, which we used in our ice cream.
