My name is Katie Morag McCall and I live on the island of Struay.

I suppose it's quite wee but it's ginormous to me

and everyone looks out for me when I'm out having my adventures.

This is where I live with my family.

My mum and dad run the shop and post office.

This is the bedroom I share with my brother.

My mum says it's an absolute midden.

This is the croft where Grannie Island lives

with her animals and hens.

This is the Redburn Bridge where I play Pooh Sticks.

And I think it's the best place in the whole entire world

and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Grannie Island always says babies are just like the billy goats.

They're noisy, smelly and they turn things topsy-turvy.

But I didn't believe her.

How could anything so little cause any trouble at all?

Mum and Dad were coming home with my new baby sister.

Her name was Flora Ann and I was so excited to meet her.

So were lots of other people.

She is just beautiful.

Just gorgeous.

Apart from being a ginormous cheat, Grannie Island

was the best person in the world to collect firewood on the beach with.

She spent ages telling me about the funny wee sea creatures

like starfish and barnacles.

The one thing we didn't do much of was to collect firewood.

But she didn't seem to mind.

Once in a while, I would think about Teddy though

and then I'd get sad again.

Right. We had better get going. Do you fancy a race?

I've forgotten a present for Flora Ann.

Wait a minute.

Now you just let Flora Ann have a wee cuddle with you

to help her go to sleep.

It wasn't exactly a present. I was only lending him for a little while.

Everybody needs a teddy and she was my new baby sister.

Thinking back, I suppose Grannie Island was right.

Even if you can't see them, in a funny kind of way,

your good friends will always be out there somewhere.
