Loads of people are fans of something,

but sometimes things can go a bit too far.

Looking up to someone can inspire you to achieve amazing things.

But there is a limit.

If thinking about your hero starts to affect your daily life,

it might have become an obsession.

You might get so into a celebrity

that you forget to spend time with your family and friends.

You might even start to feel like you know them personally.

So keep a balance in your life,

instead of just getting stuck on one thing.

Being really into a band, a vlogger, a celebrity, a chef,

it's pretty normal.

And dressing up in their style can be an important part

of growing up and figuring out who you are.

But sometimes people can get a bit carried away.

Like, covering your bedroom in your favourite posters is totally fine.

But waiting outside their house and looking through the window

to see what they've had for breakfast

and spending all your time online searching stuff about them

is taking it too far.

Some people copy their favourite footballer's hairstyle.

But talking to your friends like you're giving

a post-match interview is probably a bit too much.

I think, overall, it was a good performance from the team.

I really love One Direction.

Their songs are really catchy and they're quite good-looking.

I've seen them live twice.

The first time, I cried and screamed so hard.

My brother and my dad tease me

because they just don't understand how great they are.

Remember - celebs are normal people, too.

They eat their tea, watch the telly and snore in bed just like you.

It's not a competition.

There's no chart to say who loves the celebrity more than you

and just because you spend your time doing something else,

that doesn't mean you're letting your favourite celebrity down.

Being a fan can be fun,

especially if you and your mates are having a laugh together.

Remember, not everyone will share your passion.

Your mates might drift off if you're only interested in talking

and thinking about your hero.

Sometimes, obsessions can distract us

from tough times at home and at school.

Keeping ourselves grounded by connecting with the people around us

can remind us that we have people who love and support us right here.

I find myself sometimes getting obsessed with band members.

I personally have been really obsessed

with internet celebrities in the past.

I have been obsessed with a celebrity.

And sometimes I can spend way too much time online.

Hours every single day, watching what they made.

I felt that I needed to know

everything that was going on in their life.

Looking through their blogs, social media videos.

And I think my family would definitely say

that it was an obsession of mine.

And then after a while,

I kind of got obsessed with another celebrity

and then after them, another celebrity

and then I realised I don't need to be obsessed with one.

I can enjoy all of them in smaller doses.

I can also get a bit obsessed with this one.

When you focus too much on someone else,

sometimes you just might lose yourself.

Try new things and venture out,

You'll become interesting without a doubt.

We are all passionate about different things.

I am, too, whether it's a musician or actor or watching the news.

Understand celebrities are just like you,

They live, breathe and do all the things you do.
