What's up, Lifebabblers?

Today we're talking about social responsibility,

when we help look after each other -

our family, friends, community and the planet.

So, Lifebabble family, how can we be socially responsible?

Social responsibility is something many of us do already -

like sharing, caring and helping others.

I've got two of these...

See, when you share with people, it makes their day a whole lot better.

Cheers, and do what you can now.

Don't put off being kind, caring or helping someone.

Social responsibility is not only about looking out for others.

It's also about caring for our planet.

I like it when people say, "Hello" or, "Good morning" to me,

because it makes me feel like I'm part

of a happy and friendly community.

And sometimes you can end up making new friends

and having a really nice conversation with people.

Oh, I can do this!

I thought social responsibility was about things that I couldn't do.

Well, what can I do right now?

You can give me one of those.

And what will you do to show you care?

I'll do the dishes, even though it's your turn.

And instead of cranking up the heating,

we can put on jumpers and blankets.

We've just done three socially responsible things.

Can I have those back now?

I'll put them in the recycling. That's four things.

I'll do it for you. Five things!

Social responsibility can sound complicated and serious.

But it's simply about us being kind, caring and looking after this planet

that we will share together.

You can't solve everything,

but there are things that we can all do to help.

At home, you could help your family clean the house,

sort out the rubbish or take the dog out for a walk.

Check and see if your school is involved in a local project,

or helping communities in a faraway place.

Look out for litter clean-up days in your community, and volunteer.

Whether you're at home, school or out and about,

we can all make socially responsible choices.

I think that I make a difference as I try to promote positivity

amongst the people around me.

I try to find a positive from a negative situation.

I do quite a bit of work with young people in my area when I can.

I try to show them that they can do great things,

by giving footballers football boots, for example.

Or giving people that like to read books to read.

I love doing it and it feels good when I do do it.

I also like to volunteer with local organisations,

such as the ones that take care of abandoned animals.

Finding ways to help others is great. But remember -

every single act counts.

Not just the big ones.

I helped to organise a fundraising bake sale,

which allowed the school to buy some new PE equipment

and repaint the school running track with the money raised.
