Today we're at Longleat Safari Park and I'm privileged to be in

:00:12.:00:17.

distinguished company. Thank you. You know about his intelligence,

:00:17.:00:25.

bright, brainy, superb at solving problems. It is true. And funny. I

:00:25.:00:33.

would look at his face all day. know. These monkeys remind me of

:00:33.:00:41.

you actually. You're not funny! This is Live'n'Deadly. Our convoy

:00:41.:00:49.

is searching all things wile and you're coming withy step of the way.

:00:49.:00:55.

-- all things wild and you're coming with us, every step of the

:00:55.:01:01.

way. Start the sofa on a Saturday morning and the rest of the weekend

:01:01.:01:11.
:01:11.:01:15.

is up to you. I think we have got it under control. Are we safe?

:01:15.:01:19.

is an action packed start. With monkeys if you stare them in the

:01:20.:01:25.

eye, particularly if you do this. So don't do that. So today we're

:01:25.:01:30.

showing you the best bits from the series. We have had a sensational

:01:30.:01:36.

time and you have sent us in lot of comments. Thank you. One says the

:01:36.:01:42.

episodes are amazing, and all the different animals. And another says

:01:42.:01:49.

I love Live'n'Deadly. Thank you. We have got plenty more awesome coming

:01:49.:01:57.

up, with a few squabbles. We're on safari at Longleat and celebrating

:01:57.:02:03.

the best of Live'n'Deadly. There is some new stuff as we embark on a

:02:03.:02:13.
:02:13.:02:37.

feeding frenzy with some big predators. And the tigers are here.

:02:37.:02:42.

Hello beautiful. Hello. The tigers are usually solitary animals. To

:02:42.:02:46.

have four like this together. That is the male. Look at the size of

:02:46.:02:56.
:02:56.:02:57.

him. He is gigantic and to be this close to them is out of this world.

:02:57.:03:01.

I get the sense that these animals are hungry. So I think it is time

:03:01.:03:09.

to provide them with some breakfast. The keepers are going to put bits

:03:09.:03:14.

of meat all over the enclosure and one right here. I have mounted this

:03:14.:03:19.

camera, that will see them really close and they will get stuck into

:03:19.:03:24.

the meat. Tigers are not the only animals that we have had on the

:03:24.:03:30.

series that have big teeth. We have more than our share of super deadly

:03:30.:03:36.

creatures. This series was packed with some of the deadliest

:03:36.:03:40.

predators on the planet. You can hear the crunching as the teeth go

:03:40.:03:46.

through fish skull. Look at the size of it. It is enormous. Some

:03:46.:03:53.

got too close for comfort. Iement being gripped by an -- I'm being

:03:53.:04:00.

gripped by an anteater. Others left us spell bound. Look at that. This

:04:00.:04:06.

is just wonderful. Look at it searching out the perfect place to

:04:06.:04:13.

anchor itself. Look at that doing a complete fly by. Wonderful stuff.

:04:13.:04:23.

They were fearsome. Feisty. Ooh hello. You won't doing that early.

:04:23.:04:29.

And full of talents. It has taken the lid off the jar and we're

:04:29.:04:39.
:04:39.:04:45.

cheating the fishermen. First time! Here they go. Oh my goodness. That

:04:45.:04:52.

is fantastic. Look how fast they're running. They're just awesome.

:04:52.:04:58.

have got my hand on the... On the wooden screen. The sound of that

:04:58.:05:05.

growl is extraordinary. It seems to reverberate through ground. When

:05:05.:05:10.

they're hunting, how do they find their prey? They will prey and then

:05:10.:05:15.

stalk it. They will stalk it and then ambush. They will have one

:05:15.:05:19.

short explosive chase that they use to make their kill. If it is not

:05:19.:05:27.

over and done with in about 50 metres, they will give up. Nice,

:05:27.:05:32.

nice. Look. Yeah. I reckon he is going for that one on the end. It

:05:32.:05:40.

should be an easy reach for this big fella. Look at how tall he is.

:05:40.:05:45.

They're massive. The paws are enormous. I have seen tiger tracks

:05:45.:05:49.

from the male Tiger that are would cover a dinner plate, they're so

:05:49.:05:53.

big. Look at him wandering off with that meat. He knows he is at the

:05:53.:06:02.

top of the foot chain. Wow! It is running fast. It is going to silt

:06:02.:06:07.

down right in front of us. Look at -- sit down right in front of us.

:06:07.:06:12.

Look at that. It is using the tongue like a rasp and it can use

:06:12.:06:19.

that to get hair off carcasses or to get meat off the bones. That is

:06:19.:06:23.

incredible. Are they eating the bone as well. Yes it steers it

:06:23.:06:30.

round to the side of the mouth, where it has cheek teeth that can

:06:30.:06:40.
:06:40.:06:46.

crunch through bone and you hear that sound. No. No shut the window.

:06:46.:06:56.
:06:56.:06:59.

This is getting ready. Wow! That was impressive. That was too close

:06:59.:07:09.
:07:09.:07:09.

for comfort. I had my hand on the window. Just ready to wind it up.

:07:09.:07:19.
:07:19.:07:24.

Holy moley! Go on. I can see his claws now. Oh no. Oh dear. You're

:07:24.:07:34.

about to lose your camera. It ain't my camera. You can get it. Yes!

:07:34.:07:42.

Wonderful. That was successful. Brilliant. You saw his claws.

:07:42.:07:50.

know. With teeth like that, you can see why it has a slot on our leader

:07:50.:07:54.

board. We're lucky to get this close to animals and we're seen

:07:54.:08:00.

Steve get close to so many animals. But he fancies himself also as an

:08:00.:08:10.
:08:10.:08:25.

action man. Oh it's all wet and This year's missions have had an

:08:26.:08:31.

aquatic theme. And it offered a treasure trove of maritime marvels.

:08:31.:08:38.

We spotted seals. I'm trying to get an underwater shot. And we saw

:08:38.:08:44.

greedy gannets. Lack at that! But the real treat was a meeting with a

:08:44.:08:50.

weird fish. This is a sun fish. I have to say it is one of the most

:08:50.:08:54.

peculiar looking fish I have ever seen. But it was beneath the

:08:54.:09:00.

surface where I pushed my skills to the limit. Free diving allowed me

:09:00.:09:05.

to experience life under water as a marine mammal, holing my breath for

:09:05.:09:11.

as long as I could. But there are many dangers, so it is best to

:09:11.:09:18.

start with an expert. So I'm here with Sam Kirby a free dive

:09:18.:09:22.

instructor. We had a calm shelter bay to train safely and the first

:09:22.:09:28.

job is to get to grips with the theory. What you have got to think

:09:28.:09:34.

about is to use as much of your lungs as possible. Sam is showing

:09:34.:09:39.

me thousand relax and reduce my heart rate. It is like meditating

:09:39.:09:46.

and helps the body consume less oxygen. Without all the usual scuba

:09:46.:09:56.
:09:56.:09:57.

gear, getting ready is easier. Well sort of. I just punched myself in

:09:57.:10:05.

the face! The shock of entering cold water makes it harder to relax.

:10:05.:10:10.

I have a float to help me stay on the surface while I practice face

:10:10.:10:16.

down. Compared to the experts in the natural world, I'm a complete

:10:16.:10:22.

amateur! Fish can breathe under water as they have gill. But

:10:22.:10:27.

mammals can dive under water for incredible lengths of time. Sea

:10:27.:10:33.

otters hold their breath for nearly six minutes. That is 30 seconds.

:10:33.:10:41.

Grey seals for 20 mince. That is one minute. And sperm whales can go

:10:41.:10:45.

without breathing for over an hour. And they make it look effortless.

:10:45.:10:51.

How did I do? Come up. Breathe in. Breathe in. I held my breath for

:10:51.:10:59.

two minutes. I'm pleased with that. It is difficult psychologically,

:10:59.:11:07.

your whole body is just crying out at you to breathe. But we got up to

:11:07.:11:13.

a reasonable time. Now to put it into effect. For this dive we're

:11:13.:11:22.

moving to deeper waters. I have to fight the nerves and keep relaxed.

:11:22.:11:29.

I will be in deep open water and I'm attached to a rope to prevent

:11:29.:11:33.

me getting taken by the current. Remember don't try this without an

:11:33.:11:41.

expert instrubtor who - instructor who has knowledge of the area. One

:11:41.:11:46.

last breath and down I go. I'm attempting a depth equivalent to

:11:46.:11:51.

the height of a six storey building. I'm fighting the urge to breathe

:11:51.:12:01.
:12:01.:12:10.

and all my senses are screaming at me to get back to the surface.

:12:10.:12:17.

Thanks Sam. A superb experience. But to allow me to spend longer

:12:17.:12:25.

exploring, I kitted up in my scuba gear to get a good look at life on

:12:25.:12:35.
:12:35.:12:38.

the sea bed. Diver to surface. Wow you can can see the bottom here is

:12:38.:12:43.

just covered with loads of sea plants. What we need to do is

:12:43.:12:49.

forage among nem and see what we can find. -- among them. This is

:12:49.:12:56.

interesting. This shell is a scallop. And it has a small animal

:12:56.:13:06.
:13:06.:13:07.

inside. It is called a bivalve mollusc. It is protecting irt. But

:13:07.:13:12.

they can actually -- itself, but they can actually swim away and

:13:12.:13:19.

allow, look it is opening up. Look at that. Oh wonderful. Look at

:13:19.:13:29.
:13:29.:13:31.

that! I love them. They're such great animals and that movement

:13:31.:13:36.

allows her to swim away from predators. Let's see what else we

:13:36.:13:44.

can find. Look at this. People often think of star fish as being

:13:44.:13:50.

things that just lie on the bottom and do nothing. But this star fish

:13:50.:13:58.

is actively chasing and going after the snail. Look at it go. I have

:13:58.:14:06.

never seen a star fish moving so fast. Oh and look at this - a

:14:06.:14:11.

brittle star pull pg itself along the bottom using -- pulling itself

:14:11.:14:16.

along the bottom using its arms. I could watch this stuff all day. We

:14:16.:14:22.

were starting to run out of air, but then there was one final

:14:22.:14:27.

encounter. Wow, that is just wonderful. It is a thorn back ray,

:14:27.:14:34.

one of the most common rays in Britain. Look at it going. Every

:14:35.:14:44.
:14:45.:14:46.

where you look there are incredible Every time you put your hand down

:14:46.:14:50.

to the sea floor things were scurrying off in every direction. A

:14:51.:14:55.

lot were peculiar curiousities I've never seen before. You wouldn't

:14:55.:14:59.

need to be scuba diving to see some of those things. It wasn't that

:14:59.:15:04.

deep. You could get out there with a snorkel and experience some of

:15:04.:15:08.

those things for yourself. It goes to show, Britain's seas are

:15:08.:15:11.

brilliant. Has anyone got a hot cuppa?

:15:11.:15:16.

Steve didn't have all the fun. I've had some heart-stopping moments on

:15:16.:15:21.

my own adventures. And so have you as you've been trying out new

:15:21.:15:24.

activities up and down the country. More of those thrills and spills

:15:24.:15:29.

later on. Next up, we've more deadly mouths

:15:29.:15:36.

to feed here at Longleat. This is a very new experience for

:15:36.:15:44.

me, standing completely out in the open surrounded by wolves. I think

:15:44.:15:48.

there's about 12 animals in here. Out in front of us, there are a

:15:48.:15:53.

couple of big chunks of meat. You can see them pacing backwards and

:15:53.:15:59.

forwards. Are they quite nervous creatures? Absolutely. They are

:15:59.:16:05.

very cautious. Very in tell gent. Will it take one of them to be

:16:05.:16:11.

brave and then the rest will come in? In all probability. They call

:16:11.:16:16.

that the Alpha male? Absolutely. The one at the top. Just wonderful

:16:16.:16:19.

seeing them all moving together. That's when you see that this is

:16:19.:16:24.

such a pack animal. An animal which is really comfortable together in a

:16:24.:16:28.

group. Work as a team. Yeah, They are checking it out. They like the

:16:28.:16:33.

look of it. This one here strikes me as being quite bold. Look at

:16:33.:16:37.

that, as it's coming towards the meat, you can see the nose is right

:16:37.:16:42.

down to the ground. This is an animal that's really driven by the

:16:42.:16:48.

sense of smell but the eyes are still up looking around making sure

:16:48.:16:53.

there's no danger. First instint is to drag it away from us. Once

:16:53.:16:56.

they've all seen this one here's getting some free good they'll want

:16:56.:17:02.

to get in on the action. They're getting closer and closer. They are.

:17:02.:17:06.

They're definitely building up some courage now. They're such bruteful

:17:06.:17:16.
:17:16.:17:17.

animals. -- beautiful animals. Go on. Be brave. This is proper wolf

:17:17.:17:23.

feeding. You can see all of them coming in. They are bracing

:17:23.:17:28.

backwards usinging their front feet and tearing chunks of the meat out.

:17:28.:17:33.

They are having a bit of a scrap. This is very common. The more

:17:33.:17:39.

dominant animals make sure they get the first chunk the meat. Will be

:17:39.:17:44.

weaker animals potentially get no food? They will all have something

:17:44.:17:48.

but if they try to get the best bits or food before it is their

:17:48.:17:53.

time they'll get disciplined like that. Wolves are the classic team

:17:53.:17:57.

animal working together in perfect harmonies. They are powerful,

:17:57.:18:00.

efficient, they're beautiful. They are absolutely nothing like a team

:18:00.:18:06.

that we know very well. The Live 'n' Deadly crew! Shall we find out

:18:06.:18:10.

what they thought of the series. See what their favourite bits were.

:18:10.:18:15.

Not sure I want to know. Lots of fun on Live 'n' Deadly. But

:18:15.:18:19.

without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite moment had to be when

:18:19.:18:25.

Steve raced Andy Murray on a couple of camel. Nothing like a bit of

:18:25.:18:30.

crazy animal danger to make your day a bit more exciting. Steve was

:18:30.:18:36.

depen Iainly scared, I think. -- genuinely scared. My favourite part

:18:36.:18:45.

of the series was being in a cave live. That's horrid. Favourite part

:18:45.:18:51.

of the series for me was the skiing. I'm coming straight for you and I

:18:51.:18:56.

am not in control! To be the cameraman skiing down with the guys

:18:56.:19:06.
:19:06.:19:07.

was just a treat for me. Now, that is the way to make an entrance!

:19:08.:19:14.

Whoa. Her skis, where did she get huskies? We through Steve into the

:19:14.:19:18.

sea and asked the coastguard to come and pick him up in a

:19:18.:19:26.

helicopter. I thought that was pretty cool.

:19:26.:19:31.

An armadillo. It was cute and funny. Look at him. He's just the cuteest

:19:31.:19:37.

thing on Earth. Armadillo. Why's that? It's cute. Like a hedgehog

:19:37.:19:45.

with no spikes. And here he is, the cute three banded aurpl dill owe.

:19:45.:19:51.

We couldn't -- armadillo. We couldn't resist having another look.

:19:51.:19:55.

He's just starting to get that warmth from your hands and starting

:19:55.:20:00.

to unravel. He is absolutely adorable. He's lovely. We weren't

:20:00.:20:03.

only one who is fell he had over heels in love with the armadillo.

:20:03.:20:08.

We had loads of messages, including, blue tiger Princess who thinks the

:20:08.:20:13.

armadillo is really cute. So did Patrick and Conrad. I have to say,

:20:13.:20:20.

this programme is about the deadliest and while is he -- he is

:20:20.:20:25.

incredibly cute does he deserve to be on our deadliest leaderboard?

:20:25.:20:30.

I'm shot sure. I'm not sure. This is one of the many animals which

:20:30.:20:35.

inspired you lot to get arty. In north um bland it provided the

:20:35.:20:40.

inspiration for an animal in shining armour. At Lyme Regis, the

:20:40.:20:47.

buckets and spades you were out as stacks of you got stuck into a

:20:47.:20:52.

prehistoric sculpture. And Nichola Wood carved up and icy surprise in

:20:52.:20:58.

Leeds. Penguin! Loving your creativity. Some of you got arty on

:20:58.:21:04.

us when you came to the Live 'n' Deadly set. Others took your skills

:21:04.:21:13.

to new levels. Amber, you send us a superb sand sculpture. It puts a

:21:13.:21:19.

whole new perspective on every trip to the beach. Don't make a

:21:19.:21:24.

sandcastle, make a deadly creature. More fabulous beasties coming up

:21:24.:21:29.

later in the show as well as hair- raising moments. I was kefrpd when

:21:29.:21:34.

the crew told me it was time to face up to some of my fears. I knew

:21:34.:21:39.

working on Live 'n' Deadly would involve some creepy-crawlies and

:21:39.:21:43.

other beasties. But it was time to get serious. First on the list was

:21:43.:21:51.

spiders. I am a piece of wood. Relax your shoulders. Remember to

:21:51.:21:58.

breathe. OK. It's just finding its way over your hands. Breathe easily.

:21:58.:22:03.

It won't do anything. I'm a lot bigger than it. It won't do me any

:22:03.:22:08.

harm. If I can do this, anyone can. I have to say, Naomi, fear faced.

:22:08.:22:15.

That is brilliant. Take it away. Over time and with a bit of help

:22:15.:22:20.

from Steve, it got easier to deal with bugs and mini-beasts. Good,

:22:20.:22:25.

critters! But there was one creature that I was terrified of,

:22:25.:22:33.

the shark. Just sit down. You'll be more stable. Place it into the

:22:33.:22:38.

water. Where, where? Even though this fish didn't take the bait,

:22:38.:22:47.

getting that close meant I'd conquered my fear. As if pugs and

:22:47.:22:51.

sharks were not enough, Steve would line up a bit of a treat for me.

:22:51.:23:00.

Urgh! It is who's poo at the zoo! You lot seemed to enjoy it too.

:23:00.:23:06.

Each week, he served up all manner of dungy delight. Get stuck in.

:23:06.:23:11.

Right down deep into it. This one should be quite familiar to you.

:23:11.:23:16.

What does it look like? Is there a domestic animal it looks like to

:23:16.:23:23.

you? Rabbit. No,! I've never had a rabbit. That would be a monstrous

:23:23.:23:29.

rabbit. Imagine you were going out at the weekend for a... Horse.

:23:29.:23:36.

Reindeer, donkey. A horse wearing stripy Midge am as? Zebra! Anyone

:23:36.:23:45.

any guesses? Cheat a? Cheat a is much smaller. Someone over there

:23:45.:23:55.
:23:55.:23:55.

shouted it. Snow leopard. Spot on! Your dessert is there. Is that one

:23:55.:24:03.

poo? No, its it's a rock. Where's The Piano? That there, that's more

:24:03.:24:06.

like a pellet. That's come out of one end and that white the other

:24:06.:24:14.

end. What do you reckon? A bird? Vulture. Yeah! Thank goodness.

:24:14.:24:21.

spot on. You haven't just used the Live 'n' Deadly website to send in

:24:22.:24:28.

your pictures. We've had games this year. In Live 'n' Deadly you have

:24:28.:24:34.

to outrun, outkayak and out slide them too. You can still put your

:24:34.:24:40.

wildlife knowledge to the test in deadly scramble., deadly planet is

:24:40.:24:46.

our new mega game. Guide virtual Steve around the world in search of

:24:46.:24:51.

virtual cameras. You get deadly powers. If you missed any of them,

:24:51.:24:55.

head to our website. You can use them to complete the game and fight

:24:55.:25:00.

to get on to the leaderboard to become the deadliest player around.

:25:00.:25:06.

We've been playing the deadly games ourselves. I like deathly planet

:25:06.:25:11.

with the spectacular scenery. epic. Rpblgts I love deadly dash

:25:11.:25:17.

though I can't get away from the hippo. I'm rubbish at those games.

:25:17.:25:22.

Unbelievably rubbish. But dreadly scramble is a wildlife quiz so I

:25:22.:25:28.

can do all right at that. You lot have been living the dream at the

:25:28.:25:33.

deadly days out. This week is our last Deadly Day Out of the series.

:25:33.:25:38.

We have loved them. We've come along, tried out new activities,

:25:38.:25:41.

met dreadly animals. Thousands of you have turned up to enjoy the fun.

:25:41.:25:51.
:25:51.:25:56.

Today is no different. Skhraps all : ALL: Yes! Deadly days demand

:25:56.:26:00.

deadly predators. This deadly mantis from South East Asia. How do

:26:00.:26:05.

you think you tell the boys and girls aparted? Is it a different

:26:05.:26:12.

colour? Is if the size Are the girls bigger than the boys? Spot on.

:26:12.:26:16.

The girls are bigger. They have to have the eggs. They are larger than

:26:16.:26:22.

the males. But also, if you count the sections on the abdomens

:26:22.:26:30.

females have six and the males have eight. Spot on. High five! Many

:26:30.:26:35.

species of mantis can fly. When they are on the wing they are

:26:35.:26:40.

vulnerable to being punched by bats. They evade them by using their ears.

:26:40.:26:47.

Where are the ears? On the head. its legs? Underneath. Yes, spot on.

:26:47.:26:51.

Exactly right. The ear is on the underneath of the author axe. It is

:26:51.:26:57.

really, really good at picking up the ultrasonic clicks by bats when

:26:57.:27:03.

they fly. It hears those clicks, followeds its wings and drops on to

:27:03.:27:09.

the forest floor and the batted zooms in and it missing it

:27:09.:27:14.

completely. -- misses it completely. This is vulnerable to predators.

:27:14.:27:20.

How would it frighten away a scaraway bird? Make a noise?

:27:20.:27:25.

rubs its claws together. Does it make itself bigger? That is what it

:27:25.:27:30.

does. They throw their wings back. There are bold eye spots on the

:27:30.:27:34.

wings which makes it look like this is a much bigger animal that it

:27:34.:27:41.

really is. Great answer. Well done. This marvellous mantis is a dead

:27:41.:27:45.

ringer for a dead leaf. He's a beautiful beast. Today, in very

:27:45.:27:55.
:27:55.:27:55.

good company. That is just brilliant. We've had loads of

:27:55.:28:00.

deadly days out over the series. That was sadly our last one. But,

:28:00.:28:04.

the deadly scenes investigations continue. So, there lr events all

:28:04.:28:10.

over the country. Head to our website. Maybe solve your own

order a Live 'n' Deadly teacher's pack. It comes with a DVD so Steve

:28:19.:28:24.

can guide you through. Are there any nice handsome photographs of me

:28:24.:28:34.

in there? No! Nice one of me though, look! One of my favourite parts of

:28:34.:28:38.

the show was meeting the dead cuteies we lined up for you. When

:28:38.:28:44.

I'm talking about dead cute I never thought I'd meet a crocodile. The

:28:44.:28:50.

weird and wonderful won me over with their cute factor. Look at you,

:28:50.:28:54.

you're absolute lutely adorable. But even these bunch of sweeties

:28:54.:29:04.
:29:04.:29:12.

had a deadly side to them. Maybe not that cute then. For me, one of

:29:12.:29:17.

the most exciting things is every week we have someone on who's a

:29:17.:29:25.

hero from the world of adventure, a mountaineer, triathlete, psych EU

:29:25.:29:29.

cyclist, they've done something truly wonderful in the outdoors.

:29:29.:29:36.

They inspire our young people to know anything's possible. It also

:29:36.:29:41.

inspires older viewers it is never too late to try something new.

:29:41.:29:44.

Let's remind ourselves what the legends of the outdoors are all

:29:44.:29:54.
:29:54.:29:55.

Apology for the loss of subtitles for 73 seconds

:29:55.:31:08.

Steve was impressed with our guests. But he couldn't let them leave

:31:08.:31:14.

without throwing down the gauntlet, going head-to-head with them in our

:31:15.:31:24.
:31:25.:31:26.

challenges. Competitive? Steve? I would be just spinning round and

:31:26.:31:36.
:31:36.:31:42.

round. Over the see saw. Look at them going. They're doing so well.

:31:42.:31:52.
:31:52.:31:55.

Oh Steve! But of all the challenges, one of my favourites was with free

:31:55.:32:01.

style kayaker, James Bebbington. We threw ourself in with a pair of

:32:01.:32:07.

crocks. Three, two, one go! They're off. Steve is going for it. He did

:32:07.:32:12.

well in the challenges last year. Can he do as well this time? Look

:32:12.:32:17.

at James, you can tell he has been in the water so much. He is just

:32:17.:32:27.
:32:27.:32:28.

floating down. He looks like he is on holiday in Benidorm. N't --

:32:28.:32:34.

13,000 litres of water coming down here every second. Here they come.

:32:34.:32:44.
:32:44.:32:46.

Go on James. Down the slope. Woo! Hey! Grab the rope, Steve. Grab the

:32:46.:32:51.

rope. I'm afraid our winner is James and he is just floating off

:32:51.:33:01.
:33:01.:33:02.

into the distance. We have lost James. You're still alive! No

:33:02.:33:08.

crocodile hears -- tears from you, OK? You loved it when in Scotland

:33:08.:33:15.

Steve took on ulttra marathon runner Andy Murray in a camel race.

:33:15.:33:21.

Have you ridden a camel before. have ridden one, but never raced

:33:21.:33:31.
:33:31.:33:31.

them. Oh! If getting up is anything to go by we're in for a good race.

:33:31.:33:37.

You're under starter's orders. Three, two, are you ready. No that

:33:38.:33:47.

way? Shall we start. Three, two, one let's do it. Off we go. Here we

:33:48.:33:55.

go. Oh my God. This is scary! supposed to look elegant. Talk

:33:55.:34:01.

about going up the inside straight. More like the inside wobbly. Steve

:34:01.:34:09.

is sporting, his camouflage trousers and they're on the way

:34:09.:34:19.
:34:19.:34:26.

back A tricky manoeuvre. They are going at some pace. Have -- he

:34:26.:34:31.

pipped him at the post. They're out of breath. Look at this one.

:34:31.:34:37.

Steve's poor camel is sad. Look at his long face. That race was

:34:37.:34:41.

hilarious. I loved all the races, but that was my favourite. It was

:34:41.:34:45.

so much faster than I was expecting and then it seemed like a long way

:34:46.:34:51.

down. It was quite scary. You have five challenges and lost five. You

:34:51.:34:57.

have one more against a superfine athlete. I wonder who that can be.

:34:57.:35:04.

We worked Steve back. And you sent in some tough question and then we

:35:04.:35:09.

threw in some physical challenges. As if it isn't enough that I have

:35:09.:35:15.

to answer questions on the natural world, I was squirted in snow and

:35:15.:35:25.

water. And Beat Backshall is my favourite part of show. Some of the

:35:25.:35:29.

answers right. What are you talking about? I got, in fact I got all of

:35:29.:35:35.

the... Just play the tape. Beat Backshall was the chance to give

:35:35.:35:41.

Steve's brain a work out and he took it well. Under pressure.

:35:41.:35:48.

is this distracting. Upside down and hanging by a thread. Even

:35:48.:35:51.

hanging upside down he can deliver the fact. He still managed to

:35:51.:35:58.

answer your questions. I I have to admit I don't know. Well most of

:35:58.:36:03.

them. But his quick thinking got him out of trouble and you all

:36:03.:36:08.

enjoyed cheering him on. Lots of you got in touch to say how much

:36:08.:36:15.

you enjoyed our final live show in Leeds when Steve took a very cold

:36:15.:36:22.

bath. I feel your pain. We're going to get on with this. First question

:36:22.:36:28.

is from Olive, what owl has the largest wing span? The largest wing

:36:28.:36:38.
:36:38.:36:47.

span? It is going to be a you racian -- ure Asian eagle owl.

:36:47.:36:55.

done. I don't know how he does it. Which bird has the biggest beak?

:36:55.:37:03.

That it one of the pelicans. The Southern pelican. And what is the

:37:03.:37:09.

world's longest living caterpillar and how does it survive the winter.

:37:09.:37:16.

The woolly bird. And one more from Nelson, what do gir afters clean

:37:16.:37:26.
:37:26.:37:26.

their ears with? Their tongue. when the temperature tumbles, Steve

:37:26.:37:32.

still scores. Freeze a jolly good fellow! Steve's been made a little

:37:32.:37:42.
:37:42.:37:42.

uncomfortable, but I have been put to the test live on air. Hadid you

:37:42.:37:51.

learn boys? Hold on! And on my own adventures I wanted to get into the

:37:51.:38:01.

Live'n'Deadly spirit. So I went into the darkness. Took on some

:38:01.:38:07.

rapids of Olympic magnitude. Pulled myself up rocky crags. And took to

:38:07.:38:17.
:38:17.:38:29.

the skies. Exhilarating stuff and sometimes a bit of a scream. Argh!

:38:29.:38:39.
:38:39.:38:46.

Woo! Oh! In one of my favourite adventures, I took to the sky to

:38:46.:38:56.
:38:56.:38:59.

fly like a kite. Wish me luck. Here we go. Run, run, run. Woo! Oh my

:38:59.:39:09.
:39:09.:39:15.

goodness! Oh wow! This is the most phenomenal thing I have ever done.

:39:15.:39:19.

But in my quest to find out what it was like to cut through the air,

:39:20.:39:29.
:39:30.:39:47.

extreme measures were taken. This Woo! This really is a bird's eye

:39:47.:39:55.

view. This is phenomenal! Wow! I do just feel like a bird. It is

:39:55.:40:00.

incredible to think that hobby is able to travel at the speed of this

:40:00.:40:10.
:40:10.:40:11.

plane, around 1 hundredmph. I -- 1 hundredmph. I don't know how a

:40:11.:40:21.
:40:21.:40:26.

hobby can see a dragon fly and then catch it. The hobby is so amazing.

:40:26.:40:36.
:40:36.:40:49.

Argh! Argh! I have a new found respect for the hobby. I can't

:40:49.:40:57.

believe I just did that! That was crazy! Hobbies are crazy. In each

:40:57.:41:01.

of my challenges I was trying to find out what it was like to be a

:41:01.:41:06.

deadly animal and a gannet sleepover was my most memorable

:41:06.:41:11.

experience. You're joking. That is right, I had to sleep on the side

:41:11.:41:21.
:41:21.:41:28.

of a cliff. No! Ready to go? Yes. Happy as you can be. On the side of

:41:28.:41:35.

the cliff. Steve's going to be laughing at me. Tiny thin bed.

:41:35.:41:45.
:41:45.:41:47.

going. She's sat. This is crazy. But very exciting. This I not

:41:47.:41:53.

something you do every day. But it is something a young gannet will do

:41:53.:42:01.

every day. After the egg hatches, the chick stays perched on cliffs

:42:01.:42:06.

for 90 days. Eventually it gets big enough to launch itself off the

:42:06.:42:10.

cliff forivities first ever flight. So the crew have decided that I

:42:10.:42:14.

have go t to lack after my own eggs. This is the challenge, I have got

:42:14.:42:19.

to look after them. They can't just stay in the bag. I will have them

:42:19.:42:26.

right next to me and be like a gannet. And protect the eggs. That

:42:26.:42:31.

is the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks. Hopefully that will

:42:31.:42:41.
:42:41.:42:57.

lull us into a nice peaceful sleep. Good morning everyone. 5 o'clock. I

:42:57.:43:02.

have just woken up. I feel fresh as a dazey. I did actually get some

:43:02.:43:07.

sleep. But I want to show you what I'm waking up to. Excuse my

:43:07.:43:15.

camerawork. Look at that. It is peaceful. And there is a gannet

:43:15.:43:22.

soars around. It is just the most... Wonderful place I think I could

:43:22.:43:32.
:43:32.:43:33.

ever wake up. And the eggs are still here! I have really enjoyed

:43:33.:43:43.
:43:43.:43:43.

this experience. But I can't explain how much it's been special.

:43:43.:43:48.

Welfare play to her. She is fearless. I enjoyed that. But the

:43:49.:43:53.

fun isn't over yet. Why is that? Because the crew have set us a

:43:53.:44:03.
:44:03.:44:22.

challenge and you know? I have been Urgh. Argh.

:44:22.:44:27.

Grr. And you say I'm competitive? I'm not confident about. This we

:44:28.:44:33.

each have to get into a zorb. That's a gorilla. Rpblgts get into

:44:33.:44:38.

it, race it around those blocks. Over the roundabout, up on to the

:44:38.:44:46.

ramp. First one back will be the winner. Too easy. Let's do it.

:44:46.:44:56.
:44:56.:45:17.

I'm in. Argh. Woo! No, no! winning. I'm going to win! No,

:45:17.:45:27.
:45:27.:45:38.

what's going on? Not fair! KLAXON BLAERS Did I win? It's a travesty!

:45:38.:45:46.

No, way! Yes, I did it. I demand a steward's inquiry. With a little

:45:46.:45:55.

bit of cheating, feels good to beat back Shaw. We've met a whole load

:45:55.:46:01.

of deadlies who fought it out to be on our top ten deadliest. They've

:46:01.:46:07.

been awesome. Here's a reminder of the some of the favourites.

:46:07.:46:11.

opportunist particular water monitor. Next up, putting the fear

predator on the African plaipbsz and King of big cats, it's the lion.

:46:25.:46:31.

The goshawk is an airborne Ninja. This oddball from the Americas,

he's the termite terminator, the armadillo. The Siberian Tiger.

:46:53.:47:00.

And that total porker, the snake with an insatiable appetite, the

:47:00.:47:05.

reticulateed python.Nd And last but not least, that intellectual bird

:47:05.:47:10.

the raven. The memories. So many brilliant beasts. You've been

:47:10.:47:19.

having your say who should right up at the top. Scot agrees saying the

:47:19.:47:26.

it has monster teeth, claws and deadly whipping tail. Katie thinks

:47:26.:47:34.

it should be the lion. Lots of you like the lion. But many said it was

:47:34.:47:38.

the tiger. It is amazingly coloured to suit its environment and it is

:47:38.:47:48.
:47:48.:47:49.

almost ex tint. Steve, funnily enough, the most popular animal was

:47:49.:47:54.

the armadillo. George thinks it is because of its armour plating and

:47:54.:47:58.

claws. It was too close to deeyed. Now, ear going to have to decide

:47:58.:48:04.

for ourselves. After our very close encounter today, I would give it to

:48:04.:48:09.

the Siberian Tiger. I'm afraid of the shark biI think the tiger.

:48:09.:48:14.

Personally, seeing the water monitor lizard snapping that fish

:48:14.:48:17.

out of my hand that was extraordinary, awesome. It is

:48:17.:48:21.

really important people know about the deadly animals we have right

:48:21.:48:25.

near here in the UK. We have animals which can rival aplace in

:48:25.:48:32.

the UK. We've the goshawk. I'm torn but seeing the goshawk coming

:48:32.:48:36.

crashing through that tiny hole at high-speed was out of this world.

:48:36.:48:42.

It was. A decision. Glorious goshawk is at number one. So the

:48:42.:48:45.

goshawk is the star of the series. But there were others which were

:48:45.:48:55.
:48:55.:48:55.

not so well behaved. This, this is Iggy. It is a grippy iguana. Birds

:48:55.:48:59.

that missed their could you. Where are you off to? No, down here. He's

:48:59.:49:06.

going to sit up there now! Animals who hadn't read the script.

:49:06.:49:11.

can't go that way. Some of whom took a shine to sheaf more than

:49:11.:49:16.

others. He's licking my ear! I'm not sure that's a good idea.

:49:16.:49:20.

Actually, that beak is way to strong for these gloves. No,

:49:20.:49:26.

nothing in my hands. Step away from the television presenter. Get back.

:49:26.:49:33.

That's better m Up and down the country there are loads of you

:49:33.:49:39.

going out and try new activities. Live 'n' Deadly is about inspiring

:49:39.:49:44.

you to try great new things. Every week, I've set you lot a mu mission.

:49:44.:49:49.

-- new mission. Here's some of the best bits. You all did brilliantly.

:49:49.:49:53.

Up and down the country, loads of you tackled new skills and got to

:49:53.:50:01.

grips with Steve's missions. proved the Live 'n' Deadly spirit

:50:01.:50:11.
:50:11.:50:22.

One group of you in particular proved anyone can get out and have

:50:23.:50:28.

a go. We caught up with them in the Lake District. With its lush green

:50:28.:50:33.

countryside and rugged landscape, it's the perfect place for a big

:50:33.:50:38.

adventure. To complete this week's task, I'll need a team who are not

:50:38.:50:48.
:50:48.:50:49.

afraid of a challenge. So, I've tracked down the perfect candidates.

:50:49.:50:59.
:50:59.:51:01.

My name is Thomas. I'm ten years old. I'm Tamara. I'm 15 years old.

:51:01.:51:09.

I'm Sophie. I'm seven years old. I'm Toby. I'm 14 years old.

:51:09.:51:19.
:51:19.:51:19.

name's Davy. I'm Hugo. I'm eight years old. ALL: We love the big out

doors. Instructor Rex is on board and pripbgsa message to the team.

:51:30.:51:36.

Come on, guys. We have a mission from Steve. I know you lot all love

:51:36.:51:40.

honking out to the and like a bit of an adventure in the great Ute

:51:40.:51:47.

doors. This week, I've lined up the perfect challenge. The bint rit

:51:47.:51:50.

trust will offer you a serious challenge with the perfect amount

:51:50.:51:53.

of team work and support to get through it. Your mission starts

:51:53.:51:58.

with indoor training. This afternoon, you'll abseil down a 25

:51:58.:52:01.

metres quarry. So, I hope none of you are scared of heights. It's

:52:01.:52:09.

time to get out there and head over the edge. Wow! Awesome. Fantastic.

:52:09.:52:19.
:52:19.:52:20.

Shall we start? Yes, please. Let's Welcome to our indoor climbing wall.

:52:20.:52:24.

In a minute, we'll practice abseiling ready for this afternoon.

:52:25.:52:30.

I'm giving the guys a chance to get used to the assent indoors. First,

:52:30.:52:34.

they need to kit up with all the essential safety gear before

:52:34.:52:37.

testing out their rope skills on the first part of the challenge.

:52:37.:52:41.

There are mixed feelings about who to expect. I'm really looking

:52:41.:52:49.

forward to this. Well, I might be a bit nervous. Scared. With the, the

:52:49.:52:59.
:52:59.:53:07.

first bit, leaning backwards and After a successful practice session,

:53:07.:53:12.

thoughts are turning to the challenge ahead. It will be fun.

:53:12.:53:16.

I'm really excited about going abseiling in this quarry. I thought

:53:16.:53:21.

this was scary. If it is going to be twice as high and more steep, I

:53:21.:53:30.

think I'm going to fall down straight away. I really am excited.

:53:30.:53:36.

I think we're ready for the quarry, don't you? Yes. Let's go then.

:53:36.:53:41.

Magic. But getting to the top of the quarry is a mission in itself.

:53:41.:53:48.

A big trudge upwards through muddy terrain means a long way down. So,

:53:48.:53:54.

here we are at the top of the quarry. It's a little bit different

:53:54.:53:58.

to what we did this morning. A little bit bigger. As we're outside,

:53:58.:54:05.

it's a little bit damper. Who would like to go first? Me! Excellent!

:54:05.:54:10.

This is where they really need to test their nerves. It's so much

:54:10.:54:15.

higher than the one we did indoors. The time has come to head over the

:54:15.:54:25.
:54:25.:54:43.

I've never climbed down anything quite this steep. This is really

:54:43.:54:53.
:54:53.:55:00.

good. It was fun. I liked the challenge.

:55:00.:55:06.

Thank you, Steve. Been very, very good achievement for me to do this.

:55:06.:55:13.

Yeah. I really enjoyed myself. Awesome challenge, Steve. ALL:

:55:13.:55:18.

Mission accomplished! Mission accomplished. Just because

:55:18.:55:23.

this season of Live 'n' Deadly is finished doesn't mean the

:55:23.:55:29.

adventures are over for you lot. Get yourselves out doors. Please,

:55:29.:55:32.
