Today I'm going to be showing you how to build a song,

and keep it interesting and how to add energy.

Playing by yourself is really awesome,

but sometimes it's even awesome-er to add more elements to the song.

-Hey!

-Hey-hey.

-How's it going?

-It goes, it goes, and it keeps on going.

-Keeps on going.

Um, so yeah. Let's jam on this.

Awesome.

So, what we did with the...the song

is we started on the piano, and she just came in.

And in the pre-chorus, I came in with my guitar.

And that added another element to the song,

and it kind of built it and kept it interesting.

And after that, she just came in on the uke and sang a harmony,

and that added even more.

That's something to note - different elements

can keep the song interesting.

So, even... There's, like, little things

that maybe some people wouldn't catch, like...

I'm playing this.

And I'm adding these little pushes.

And she's following that, so...

What I'm actually doing is I'm adding a major 7th to the chord,

so, um... I'm playing A.

And then I go to this major 7.

And when I go to the major 7 of the A,

I'm pushing it, so...

If you hear it... HE EMPHASISES NOTE

-Hear how I'm anticipating that?

-Yeah.

So, um... So, without that anticipation, it sounds like...

So, it just adds that little bit of flair.

And so, it's really great that she just listened to that

and copied what I was doing.

Because, otherwise, it'd kind of rub, and it wouldn't sound great.
