This is Marrying Mum and Dad,

where the kids take control of planning their parents' weddings.

They must make one of the most important days

of Mum and Dad's lives a success. And we're here to help.

We've got three wedding planners going all out

to create a lights, camera, action-packed big day.

Mum and Dad know they're getting married,

but they'll know nothing about the plans until the big day.

The kids want to create a wedding to beat all weddings,

but we've got just two weeks to do it so we'd better get started.

Today, we're in Surrey, where our wedding planners

can't wait to get their hands on Mum and Dad's big day.

Meet Madison Fetigan.

Hi. My name's Madison, my nickname is Maddie and I'm eight-years-old.

Maddie's friends and fellow wedding planners

are Harrison and Charlie Bates.

Hi, I'm Harrison. I'm 11-years-old.

He's really happy and he enjoys most things.

My name's Charlie and I'm seven-years-old.

Charlie can come up with weird ideas,

but he's really nice and he is really funny as well.

Maddie hasn't got any brothers,

but the Bates boys are the next best thing.

She's one of my best friends because she's really helpful.

She sees the boys most days.

Maddie's mum Louise knows just how close they all are.

The children do everything together, they go to school,

they're really like brother and sister.

They fight like brother and sister but they love each other too.

Maddie lives with mum, Louise, and soldier dad, Tony.

Madison makes me giggle every day.

She's got a really wicked sense of humour.

She's a real joy to be around and an absolute scream.

Madison's like a carbon copy of her mum.

Their attitudes and their drive is definitely the same

and the bossiness. They're my two girls.

Tony really is my complete soulmate

and, you know, he looks after his girls so well.

Mum and Dad have been married to each other once before

but divorced when Maddie was much younger.

Now that they're back together, Maddie can't wait

for them to tie the knot again, this time for good.

I really what them to get married, cos then we can be a proper family.

I really love them and it will be so good to be a real family.

And the boys can't wait to help out as well.

I'm really excited, cos we get to make the wedding and the rules.

Planning the wedding will be tricky,

Dad lives away in army barracks most of the time

and the family only get to be together twice a month.

I really miss it when my Dad goes away because then my Mum

has to do everything that he does and it just gets really stressful.

So it's even more important that this wedding

is a stress-free dream come true.

With Harrison and Charlie on hand to help Maddie out,

what could possibly go wrong?

Them three getting their heads together can only mean trouble.

It's odd not knowing what's going on.

You can't imagine how the day will pan out.

I'm sure there's going to be lots of surprises in store.

You just wait, Mum. When Maddie and the boys take over your big day

anything could happen. So let's get started.

With Dad away on army training,

our Marrying Mum And Dad team are about to take charge.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today

to mix things up a bit.

Will you, Mum, allow your daughter

to completely and utterly organise a wedding day you'll never forget?

And Dad can't be here, but we have got him on the phone.

Hello, Tony.

Do you, Dad, accept you will have absolutely no say in what goes on?

You heard him. With the handing over of the wedding-planning book,

I now pronounce you 100% officially in charge.

-Yes!

-Yes!

You hear that, Tony?

Are you a bit worried?

THEY LAUGH

Maddie and the boys have got just over two weeks

to sort out everything you need for a wedding.

It would normally take adults months!

First decision, what will the theme be?

-Any ideas?

-Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Oh, yeah?

You could have chocolate fountains.

-Oh!

-Sounds great!

-What would Mum think?

-I wouldn't want too crazy a wedding.

Look out, Mum, We're only just warming up!

-Have you thought of anything else?

-Mythical creatures.

-Yeah.

Mythical creatures? Like what?

Like an octopus with horns and a devil tail.

Get married with sharks underwater, I wouldn't like that.

Anything too out there, I wouldn't really like.

Mum's going to be in for a shock, because

an out-of-the-ordinary wedding

is exactly what these three have in mind.

-What other ideas?

-Er...

-Hollywood.

-You like the Hollywood idea, do you?

-Yeah.

So Hollywood is obviously the home of all the big movies,

where all the celebrities live. So what are we going with?

-BOTH:

-Probably Hollywood.

That's our theme sorted. Lights, camera, action!

Mum and Dad will be starring in a Hollywood wedding.

Hollywood has long been known as the home of the movies.

It's part of LA in the sunshine state of California.

With its palm-tree lined streets, walk of fame and legendary sign,

it's where you'll find the world's biggest stars.

So, how can we recreate Hollywood here in Surrey?

Maddie and Charlie have loads of ideas.

When you walk in you could have, like, paparazzi.

Loads of photographs going off with loads of paparazzi.

We could do the Oscars.

-What have a little awards ceremony?

-Yeah.

-Red carpet.

-Definitely red carpet.

-I love that!

We really have got some fantastic ideas in here.

Shall we go and make some of this happen?

It won't be easy to pull this one off so they'd better get cracking.

Naomi and the gang need to find a venue fit for a movie-star wedding.

But the sort of mansions that are found in Hollywood

are a bit thin on the ground around here.

So how about a local hotel?

Here we are then. Venue number one.

-Shall we go and have a look around?

-Yeah.

-All right, let's do it.

Oooh!

What do we think of this?

I quite like this bit, but the Hollywood colours

are black and white and red and not really brownish.

It's not Hollywood, it looks like you've been on holiday in Spain.

-With those picture s on the wall?

-Yeah.

-Perhaps not Hollywood.

-No.

-No.

With the first venue feeling more Malaga than movie star,

we'd better see if venue two has

the Hollywood sparkle that Maddie and Charlie are after.

-It's quite dark.

-Quite Dark?

-Mm.

Initial thoughts on this one?

It's actually really nice. It's really Hollywood.

I like the black bit with all the stars. I like that purple cloth.

I really like it and the white curtains are a special touch.

-Yeah.

-It's very pretty in here, isn't it?

-Yeah.

-Do you think this dance floor's big enough for all of us?

-Maybe.

-Maybe.

-Maybe not.

-We've got quite a lot of people coming.

-Yes.

-Yes.

-I really like it.

-Is it glamorous enough?

-Mmm!

On to the next one.

So unless we want our A-list guests queuing to use the dancefloor,

we need to find something bigger and better and quickly.

Fingers crossed for our third and final venue.

Well, it's big, it's wide, it's long.

It certainly looks like a movie star's mansion.

It's like Buckingham Palace.

-I'm getting the vibe that you like this one.

-Yeah.

Right, let's go and have a look inside.

-Red carpet!

-That's what we wanted.

So far, so good.

And after a quick look inside,

it's made the right impression on our wedding planning team.

Venue three does seem to be the sort of thing we were after.

-It's brilliant.

-Yeah.

-Are we sold on it?

-Yeah.

-Out of the three?

-Yeah.

Shall we put it in the book? We've got a venue!

But we're going to have to work hard to give it the Hollywood wow factor.

We've got the theme sorted, we've got the venue sorted.

I'd say that was a very good day's work wouldn't you? High five. Yeah!

As day one draws to a close things are off to a great start,

but the clock is ticking and there's still lots to do.

Day number two Project Wedding Fetigan.

And today, Madison's got a new partner in crime. It's Harrison. Hey!

-We did get a lot done yesterday.

-Yeah.

But we've got much more to do today.

It's time to sprinkle some Hollywood stardust now.

Maddie, Harry, we're gonna put you in the movies! Action!

Come on! Let's go!

When we say we'll be putting the kids in the movies,

-that's exactly what we mean.

Most weddings are an endless round of boring speeches,

but this is a showbiz wedding and Maddie and Harrison

are determined to make Mum and Dad's Hollywood bash a hit.

With the help of the Marrying Mum And Dad film crew the guys

are shooting their very own movie trailer to show on the big day.

Your mission is to overcome a series of obstacles

and make it to Naomi over there in HQ!

The shoot's going well, but I'm not sure it's what Mum had in mind

-for her traditional wedding day.

-I wouldn't want too crazy a wedding.

You'll be lucky!

Entertainment sorted.

Maddie is steaming ahead with her Hollywood theme.

And having booked a lovely English hotel,

just like her Mum would like,

she now wants to give it a taste of movie glam.

-It's really cool.

-Is it not the best place ever?

-Yeah.

-It's so good!

And this is Alyssa, your wedding designer.

Alyssa specialises in providing props

for films and television shows.

She'll help us turn our stately home into a Hollywood mansion.

-So red carpet?

-No problem at all.

-Oh, good.

We've got things like paparazzi hats that you guys could put on.

And also we've got some cameras that you could use as well.

-Oh!

-I've got three metre high palm trees.

-Wow!

They'd look cool outside the front. You could do a red carpet

with all your ropes and posts, have paparazzi taking pictures.

-No photographs!

-THEY LAUGH

And you also had your awards ceremony idea, didn't you.

-These little mini Oscars would be perfect for that.

What about costumes Alyssa! Have you got any of them?!

Yeah, we've got loads.

This is how trends start, you know.

OK, Ed. I don't think Will.i.am has too much to worry about.

Alyssa also has some larger props that should make

a real impression on guests at our Hollywood wedding.

Look at the glittery Oscar!

-You wanted famous people.

-Batman can make sure no guests misbehave.

-He can be the bouncer.

So with palm trees, award statues and paparazzi,

when Mum and Dad walk the red carpet

it should be just like the real thing.

Maddie and her best friends are halfway through organising

the biggest day of her Mum and Dad's life.

The bride and groom have no idea what they're up to.

Yeah, it's kind of odd not knowing what's going on.

Do I have any idea? With them three, no, I haven't got a clue.

They've booked a venue, chosen a theme and sorted the entertainment,

but there are still some gaping holes in the plans,

like how will Mum and Dad get to their Hollywood bash?

As long as it's not being on a horse.

I don't want to spend hours getting there.

If you can surprise me, I'll be pretty surprised.

Dad might travel in a tank for a living, but the wedding planners

want the bride and groom to arrive like Hollywood royalty.

So it's another big decision made and a tick against our wedding transport.

It's the day before the wedding

and it's time for the biggest decision of all.

That's nice.

No Hollywood production is complete without outfits for the stars.

But Mum is getting worried.

If Madison had her way, I'd be in the biggest dress I could walk in.

Even if it was possible. It could be humongous.

She gets very stressed.

Fortunately for Mum, Maddie has taken inspiration

from the sort of glamorous gowns that Hollywood stars are famous for.

That one feels nice, but I like the look of that one more.

With the wedding dress sorted,

it's another result for Maddie's planning book.

Mum and Dad will have to wait until the big day

to see what they'll be wearing.

of planning Tony and Louise's wedding was just a dream.

They've worked round the clock

to make sure the big day goes off with a bang.

But how will Mum and Dad feel about Maddie, Harrison

Will the day be a box office blockbuster or a big, fat flop?

We're about to find out.

At the house preparations for a Hollywood wedding are in full swing.

And that means a movie star makeover for Mum and Maddie.

I've not had my hair curled before, so I'm excited to see how it looks.

That's a nice lipstick, Mummy.

I'm feeling really excited now. It's all starting to be very real.

Makeup, hair. Madison looks beautiful.

The girls are starting to look like Hollywood stars.

But, remember, Mum still has no idea

what sort of wedding dress Maddie has chosen for her.

Maddie, it's time to show Mum and Dad the outfits that

you've chosen for them to get married in today.

Hope they like them. How you feeling?

A bit worried, but I'm hoping it works out.

-Hope it fits them.

-Yeah. That's the problem!

Over at the venue it's a case of lights, camera, action!

We've only got a few hours to get ready to host a Tinseltown wedding.

This is the Hollywood walk of fame that the kids wanted.

All the stars names are on here.

Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe.

Haven't found my name yet.

It's a big job transforming your venue, but with the help of

the design team, it looks like it's all coming together perfectly.

And it's not just the inside of the building

that's being given the Hollywood treatment Maddie wanted.

-This has come together really well.

-It looks amazing, doesn't it?

-We've got the red carpet.

-Award statues.

-The palm trees with lights.

-Absolutely.

You don't need twinkling lights. You won't see them on a day like this.

You've even got weather like we're in LA.

With the Hollywood themed wedding cake

that Maddie and the boys designed in place we're almost ready.

It's all coming together.

Less home counties, more Hollywood Hills.

There's just one problem. You're not famous!

What are you doing standing on the red carpet? Go on, shoo! Shoo!

Back at the house, it's nearly time for Mum to face

her biggest worry, finding out what Maddie was chosen for her to wear.

Maddie looks amazing in her own outfit,

now it's time to reveal to Mum and Dad how they look.

just dying to hear how they're feeling.

-How has the production gone so far, Tony?

-Yeah, it's been cracking.

-Could I have your autograph?

-THEY LAUGH

Of course, you're the director.

-Are you pleased with how it's all gone so far?

-Yes.

Yes, what's been your favourite bit of the day?

-Seeing their reactions.

As family and friends head to their seats,

it's another quick change for us. If our guests want to see

the performance they'll need to get past this cinema's ushers.

excitement is building in the auditorium.

The special event has even attracted two Hollywood VIPs.

Doing a great job. Are you going to sit down near the front?

The entrance of our supporting actresses means it's time

to raise the curtain on the main feature, Mum and Dad's wedding.

After keeping her leading man waiting nervously on set,

it's our leading lady.

Tony, do you take Louise to be your wife?

Do you promise to love her,

-respect her and stand by her side throughout your life together?

-I do.

Louise, do you take Tony to be your husband?

Do you promise to love him, respect him

-and stand by his side through out your life together?

-I do.

a film must be about to start.

At last Maddie and the boys can premiere

their very own Hollywood blockbuster.

And there's definitely one very happy filmgoer.

They've come up with some amazing ideas,

the proof's in the pudding today, their ideas have come to life.

I'm really glad we put our trust in the three of them,

cos they've pulled am amazing wedding out the bag.

Mum's happy with the wedding so far,

will the other Hollywood touches go down just as well.

We could never have arranged anything like this.

-She's completely done us proud, hasn't she?

-Yeah.

there's just time for one final word from our exhausted movie directors.

I think it was perfect.

I think Madison really pictured this,

but I think it's better than what I could have pictured.

I thought the best part today was when Mummy and Daddy got married.

So in one day we've had a movie premiere,

an award ceremony and a wedding. All thanks to Maddie and her friends.
