Welcome to Marrying Mum And Dad, the show where the kids take

charge of one of the most important days of their parents' lives.

Their wedding day.

Yeah, that's right, guys just like you are in control.

It's up to our wedding planners to make the day a success.

With just a little help from us.

We're in Merseyside where a team of cousins are ready to organise

a wedding like no other.

Meet our wedding planners - cousins Ewan and Charlotte.

Hi, I'm Ewan, I'm ten years old

and I like riding my bike and football.

Hi, my name's Charlotte, I'm 11 years old.

I love having fun and riding on my skates.

Ewan lives with his mum, Kyra, dad, Billy and little brother, Oli.

My dad is funny and caring.

My mum is fantastic, funny and amazing.

And to help him plan his parents' big day,

he's recruited cousin Charlotte.

Ewan's really funny but I'm the organised one

so he really needs my help.

Ewan's mum and dad have been together for 17 years

and engaged for six so what's taken them so long?

We've just never ever decided which way to do it

and this just seems the right way, for the children to plan it all.

But Dad's been putting off the big day for a different reason.

I'm shy and I hate surprise parties or parties for me so it was

one of the things that always put me off and then, look what happens.

Oh, yes, Dad, you're in for the biggest surprise of your life.

Ewan can't wait for Mum and Dad to finally say, "I do."

They love each other so much.

I feel very happy that my mum and dad are actually getting married.

And cousin Charlotte wants to do her bit.

Auntie Kyra and Uncle Billy are really lovely people

and they're kind to me so I just want to give them something back.

Mum and Dad are ready to walk down that aisle.

It's a huge next step forward in our little life together.

It just feels like it's the final piece of the jigsaw.

Mum and Dad have been together for ever so it's time they got married.

We don't want to wait another minute so we're taking over.

There's now less than two weeks before Mum and Dad

walk down the aisle and there's still everything to organise.

Yeah, there's the theme, the venue, the outfits.

Not to mention the transport, the cake and the entertainment.

'Before we can get planning, Mum and Dad need to hand over control

-Well, my mum and dad both love the show.

and glamour of ballroom dancing.

Celebrities partnered with professional dancers

strut their stuff and sparkle from head to toe.

And we're going to do it Marrying Mum And Dad style.

Question is, are Mum and Dad amazing dancers?

Well, my mum is but my dad just hates it.

How does your dad dance?

-Oh, dear. Proper dad dancing then.

-Oh, no, really?

-He can't dance at all, basically?

-No.

Are you hoping to get him dancing?

-Yeah.

-What, in front of everybody at the wedding?

I think what puts me out of my comfort zone is being

the centre of attention and having to perform and dance.

-You've chosen a theme he's going to love(!)

Just hope Dad doesn't get wind of this

and go waltzing off before his wedding day.

That's the theme sorted - a Strictly spectacular wedding.

There's only two weeks until Mum and Dad dance up the aisle

so we've come straight to Blackpool.

It's been the Mecca of ballroom dancing for over 100 years.

And Tower Ballroom has hosted two Strictly Come Dancing finals.

To inspire our wedding planners, we've lined up a Strictly surprise.

Aliona Vilani and Matthew Cutler are Strictly Come Dancing pros.

Yeah, I think we can get a little routine going.

The planners want limos so we've lined up some top-of-the-range ones

to learn a routine from our Strictly Come Dancing experts.

'But Ewan isn't so sure.'

-I feel how Ewan looks.

-Boys are a bit nervous about this.

'The girls are getting the hang of it but Ewan, just like his dad,

I'm feeling dead nervous that I can't do it, I just don't want to.

We're back in Merseyside where Ewan and his cousins Charlotte

and younger sister Erin have been working hard on a cake design

for this Strictly Come Dancing Marrying Mum And Dad wedding.

-I think that is the best one.

-Yeah.

They've decided to go all out on a Strictly glitter ball cake.

They've sent their design to the cake maker.

-Wow.

-Cupcakes.

'Now, we're off to see if Natasha can bring their idea to life.'

This is the glitter ball. We've got Kyra and Billy on the top.

-We want it to spin.

-Did you want it to spin kind of like this?

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

-That would be wicked.

-Does that look good?

-ALL:

-Yeah.

How do you eat it when it's made of polystyrene?

-It's not going to be edible, that bit?

-No.

It'll look like a real cake but between you and I, it won't be.

So then what? We'd have the cake underneath?

Of course but this will be the main focus of the cake.

How are we going to turn that into a glitter ball?

'To make the squares for our glitter ball, we're using sugar paste icing.'

Ewan's mum and dad's Strictly Come Dancing wedding.

Most weddings take months to plan but in just one week,

they've organised the theme, cake...

Wow, this is amazing.

..and entertainment.

They're doing really well but Ewan's worried about dancing on the big day.

I'm feeling dead nervous that I can't do it.

So we've been practising as much as possible to help build Ewan's

confidence. And cousin Charlotte is giving him lots of support.

Ewan, if you can do it in front of local people just walking past,

you can definitely do it in front of your family and friends.

'Never fear, Ewan. Next to me, you'll look like a Strictly pro.'

'But will he dance on the day? Who knows?'

With just a week to go,

Mum and Dad are starting to worry about what's in store.

I'm starting to really panic now.

I'll turn into this crazy bridezilla on the day

because I've been really calm and I'm genuinely looking forward to it.

'Mum does have one wish for the big day.'

The only thing I would want is my dad to walk me down the aisle.

It just means everything to me,

because my dad just means the world to me and you, Billy.

-We love him, don't we?

-Oh, you're going to set me off.

-Yeah.

-Aww, that's lovely.

Will Ewan make Mum's wish come true?

Grandad, Nan and Charlotte's mum can't wait for the big day.

Ewan and Charlotte have designed a wedding dress for Mum

that's bright pink.

We've lined up top ballroom dress designers James and Fran

to give it that Strictly pizzazz.

'And we've brought along Charlotte's sister, Erin,

-All the sewing's done but it's only halfway finished.

What do you think Mum will look like, wearing that on her wedding day?

I think she'll look amazing.

-Do you think she'll mind it's not white?

-It's just as we pictured it.

So now, the next step is putting all the crystals onto the dress.

Oh, it looks like a very delicate operation going on here.

'We've got to glue 6,000 crystals to Mum's dress.

'This is going to take ages.'

-Have we got long enough to do this?

-I don't know.

-Do you have to do each one by hand?

-Every single one.

-And we've got to cover the whole bodice?

-Yeah.

'Charlotte and Ewan are working hard

'to give Ewan's mum and dad the perfect day.'

Why do you want to do this for your mum and dad?

Because they've done lots for us

so I thought we could give something back to them.

Oh, that's so lovely.

'Mum's dress is going to look stunning but what about Dad?'

I don't think we want him in pink.

What he could do is wear just a normal white shirt

and we could make him a pink tie to match.

Can't wait to see them actually walking down the aisle,

it's going to be so amazing,

seeing them in what we've designed and what we've thought of.

Outfits done. Last on our list is the venue.

After seeing Blackpool Tower Ballroom,

cousins Charlotte and Ewan

have set their hearts on finding a similar venue closer to home.

I've brought them to Liverpool Town Hall,

one of the grandest, most impressive buildings in the city.

-What do you think of this?

-Whoa. Wow.

You said you wanted glitz and glamour.

I've been to Buckingham Palace, you know you can go around it?

-BOTH:

-Yeah.

-This is posher.

When people arrive, they sometimes have a man who stands here

It's pretty awesome and glam, isn't it?

Cousins Ewan and Charlotte have been working flat out

over the last couple of weeks to organise a wedding

that would normally take months to plan.

It's the day before the wedding

and we've just enough time to squeeze in a bit more dance practice.

It's really coming together but Ewan still doesn't believe in himself.

Ewan is still worrying about tomorrow's performance.

I'm not sure I even want to do it. I'm just dead nervous.

It's tomorrow, the wedding, and we can't just say no now.

And now he's concerned about his dad's reaction to the theme.

He even said, "The worst wedding I would ever have

That makes me a little bit nervous.

I'm just hoping it's not my nightmare theme and I haven't got to

sing and dance and learn a routine or anything silly like that.

At the house, the family are getting all glammed up

To not know anything is just bizarre.

I didn't think it would feel this strange.

To not know the venue, what I'm wearing,

to not even know how I'm going to get there

or what it's going to be in, it's just crazy.
