We spend our lives practical joking them so we're absolutely going to

get it back.

Who will have the last laugh?

We're about to find out because we're Marrying Mum And Dad.

Welcome to Marrying Mum And Dad, the show where the kids take control

of one of the most important days in their parents' lives.

Their wedding day.

That's right. Kids like you are in charge of organising a wedding.

And they've got us to help them.

Today we're in Essex, where we have two planners going totally

retro for a timeless wedding.

Meet sisters Cassie and Marnie, two girls who are especially sweet!

Hi, I'm Cassie and I'm 13 and I'm a chocoholic.

Hi, I'm Marnie and I'm nine and I'm a chocoholic, too.

These sugar-loving girls live with little sister Lily, mum Rochelle

and Mum's partner, Simon.

Mum likes to dance, but is not very good

and it shouldn't be shown in public.

And Simon's bad habit, he bites his nails.

And what about the girls?

Marnie looks like an angel, but she has a very mischievous side.

And Cassie is extremely creative.

Mum and Simon have been together for five years, but now the girls think

the time has come for them to make things official.

We really want Simon and Mum to get married.

We'll be like one big family so it will be really nice.

But this is no ordinary wedding -

Cassie and Marnie will be in charge, and they're ready to mix things up.

We want to please Mum and Simon, obviously,

but we want to add a few stuff that we want.

If they arrange a wedding, it would be really boring

but if we arrange a wedding it would be more fun.

I am not good with secrets being kept from me.

And I am the hardest person to surprise.

She likes to think she can handle surprises

but she's just got to dig and dig and dig.

I want to be surprised, I do, but I don't know what it is,

I don't know if it's the thrill of the chase.

and we've got a to-do list as long as our arm.

Yeah, there's the theme, the venue, the entertainment.

Not to mention the transport, the outfits and the cake.

We haven't got any time to waste. We'd better get going.

With not long to go until the big day, we need Mum

and Simon to hand over control to Cassie and Marnie - and fast!

Now the girls are in control, it's time to find out

their big idea for the wedding.

I didn't trust your mum and Simon, they were creeping around upstairs.

-So I sent them out to get a coffee.

The house is empty, what's the theme?

BOTH: 1980s.

Oh, a 1980s wedding!

-Why a 1980s wedding?

-It would be fun cos it's a really fun time.

And a lot of the music Mum and Simon like and enjoy are in the '80s.

In the '80s the biggest pop stars on the planet were Madonna

and Michael Jackson.

It was also the decade of big hair, big phones and a time

when ra-ra skirts were the thing to wear, and coloured cubes,

the puzzle to play with.

It looks like we're in for a great day.

Is there anything else important for you to have at this wedding?

Yes, cos we're a Jewish family, the service is quite important

because they have to stand under a canopy while they're getting

married, they have to drink from the same wine and smash glass.

-A lot to do then, already.

-Quite a lot to be getting on with.

First decision - it's a fun and traditional take on the 1980s.

With our mission set to recreate the '80s in just a few weeks,

we're seeking inspiration.

For outfits, the girls have got an '80s icon in mind.

For Mum, we thought because it's Madonna inspired,

we thought we could get her, like, in something like this.

-Are Mum and Simon concerned about what they're going to wear?

Yeah.

She's scared we might dress her up as something funny,

like a banana or something like that.

I'd like to wear something quite traditional.

Um, quite straight, fitted, but whether I get that, I don't know.

You won't get it, Mum - these girls aren't big fans of traditional.

-And what about entertainment?

-We thought a flashmob.

A flashmob is when a group of people unexpectedly come together

to put on a performance.

If the girls can launch a surprise dance on the big day

it should blow Mum and Simon away.

So all the guests will know it

-and spontaneously break into some routine?

-Yeah.

I reckon if we can pull all this off, it's going to be amazing.

-BOTH:

-Yeah.

The '80s gadgets have got the girls' ideas flowing for the big day.

I hope Ed's been just as busy in his search for a venue.

Oh, it's going so well here. We've got our own '80s room.

Cassie and Marnie have been totally inspired.

The girls have joined me at a theatre in London

for an audience with the King of '80s pop himself...Michael Jackson.

So how about we get them to teach us the Thriller dance?

That sounds really cool.

Cos that was one of the biggest albums of the '80s.

In fact it's the biggest selling album ever. Sold millions of copies.

First of all, we all face the back.

Choreographer Jo and some of the junior cast members

have agreed to show us the key moves.

A bit of practice should avoid a Moonwalking disaster on the big day.

But Cassie and Marnie will need help to pull off this flashmob.

OK, guys. I'm going to teach you the Thriller routine.

Jo records a video explaining the dance moves,

so the girls can e-mail it to their wedding guests to learn.

Well, I got my zombie face sorted. And the girls are picking it up.

Don't think Mum and Simon will guess this.

The only thing I'm worried about is we've got less than a week

for the guests to learn it. No pressure.

So, still some work to be done but it looks like the girls'

entertainment is on the way to being sorted.

Cassie and Marnie are halfway through their plans

for Mum and Simon's big day.

So far they've decided on a 1980s theme. They've found

a venue with rooms for both a traditional Jewish wedding

and a retro party...

and they've lined up a "Thrilling" entertainment surprise.

You'd normally have months to plan a wedding,

but the girls only have a few weeks to get everything booked.

And there's still more to do.

Their '80s inspired cake design needs to be sent to a cake maker.

And the girls also have to e-mail their Thriller dance routine

to their guests so they can learn the moves

for the wedding day flashmob.

Meanwhile, Mum's promise to keep her nose out of the plans is

proving more difficult than she ever imagined.

When you're put in this situation,

where actually you have no control, I thought I would be a lot

more chilled than I am and it's sent me completely the other way.

Oh, Mum, it's too late for that!

It's going to have loads of things in here to help us

dress our '80s bride and groom. We've even got Pac-Man in the window.

The girls aren't short of ideas for their wedding day outfits

Simon is sorted, and Mum's '80s accessories.

But the girls just can't seem to find that Madonna-inspired

wedding dress, so with the wedding just days away,

it's time to switch to somewhere more bridal.

-I could, perhaps, try on some dresses if you want?

-Yeah.
