Marrying Mum and Dad history.

Les wedding planneurs have their sights set high for this wedding

to take off with "le bang" in the most romantic city in the world.

But will it turn out to be a French fancy?

Or a downpour in Paris?

I'd like to say I am easy to please

but the reality is probably not so much.

And will a surprise international guest

leave everyone too shocked to speak?

..because we're Marrying Mum and Dad!

Hello and welcome to Marrying Mum and Dad, the only show that puts

you guys in charge of your parents' biggest day - their wedding!

But with only four weeks to go, there's no time to hang around.

-Best get on with it then?

Today, we're in Fife, in Bonnie Scotland...

..where two best friends can't wait to get cracking

with their wedding plans.

I'm Asha and I'm 10 years old.

I'm Isabel and I'm Asha's best friend.

And this energetic duo have something ama-zing planned

as the theme for this wedding.

For my mum and dad's wedding,

I want it to be like Paris because my dad's from French Guiana.

But your mum's from Scotland,

so we have to have a Scottish twist!

Ah, Paris - famous buildings,

fine food, amazing art,

and the home of street theatre and mime.

The best way to see the city's sights is by

boat down the River Seine. It's the city of romance,

and the country where brides first wore white wedding dresses.

Whereas Scotland - remote landscapes, bagpipes,

the Highland Games and a national dish made from sheep's intestines!

Bleurgh!

Let's hope Mum and Dad have the stomachs for it when these

cultures crash together and land with a thud in just four weeks!

A wedding en Francais but with a Scottish, 'ow do you say? Twist!

-When I think of France, I think of the Eiffel Tower.

-Oui.

-Croissants.

-Oui.

-Smelly cheese.

-Oui.

Why do you keep saying, "Wee"?

So these girls want to bring the world's most romantic city,

Paris, to Scotland for their parents' big day.

Let's meet the couple who have inspired

this culture clash of a wedding.

-Hi, I'm mum, Abbie, and this is my husband-to-be Thierry.

Completing the rest of Asha's family is five-year-old Mathis

and 18 months old Hugo.

But are Mum and Dad really happy to hand over control to the girls?

I'd like to say I am easy to please,

but probably the reality is maybe not quite so much.

Time we got started.

Asha and Isobel want this wedding to say "France!" but in Fife and have

been busy planning how to mix up all things Francais and Scottish.

-You're wearing a skirt?

we're in Scotland. I'm just being silly.

What sort of venue are you looking for?

We're looking for... They could get married on a river boat.

OK. What are all these Eiffel Towers?

-There's loads of pictures of the Eiffel Tower?

-That's the cake.

-to go up the Eiffel Tower?

-Yeah!

-That might be quite difficult.

-Shall we get started? BOTH:

A French riverboat and something like the Eiffel Tower?!

These wedding planners really do want to bring Paris to Scotland

but, for once, I'm not sure we can pull it off.

The two big things you're looking for are that you want your mum

-and dad to climb something that looks like the Eiffel Tower.

-Yeah.

And you want them to get married on a boat in a river that

looks like the Seine in Paris.

-Yes!

-Am I going to get some help looking for this?

-No, not at all! We've got other stuff to organise.

While the girls get to work on the outfits,

I'm hunting for a Scottish Tour Eiffel -

a steel tower 324 metres high and a French riverboat.

Well, let's just start with a river, shall we?!

I have been asked to do many seemingly impossible things

on Marrying Mum And Dad - finding a beach

in land-locked Birmingham, recreating the Caribbean in Wales,

but this may be my toughest task yet.

Finding something that looks like the Eiffel Tower in Scotland.

Ooh la la!

Has anybody seen something that looks like the Eiffel Tower?

In Scotland?

Of course you haven't, because it doesn't exist!

Look, a church tower. They could climb up there and get married

underneath at the same time, it's brilliant. It's not going to work!

Does this look like the Seine?

Hang on, I'm walking across a bridge, a bridge that possibly

spans the wide, beautiful, Parisian, Seine-like river.

Oh, no, it's a railway.

While Ed's hunting for France in Fife,

let's find out more about Mum and Dad.

If Dad speaks French, he must be a real romantic.

Dad always farts.

And then he blames it on me, Mathis or Hugo!

-I know someone like that - Ed!

I don't know what you're talking about but maybe Mum's more genteel.

I would describe Mum as happy, cheery, loving and caring.

Well, that's more like it.

But I'm drawing a blank on this venue search

and with only three weeks to go

I need the girls to come up with some big ideas - fast.

Oh, come on, Scotland! Where is Naomi when you need her?

I'm starting to get a bit worried about this because we've got a

lot of stuff that's very specific to Paris - the Eiffel Tower,

the River Seine and we're not finding anything that fits

the bill in Fife. So what are we going to do?

-We could have it in Paris.

-Yeah!

Oh, really, just plan the whole wedding in Paris.

-Yeah.

-And how are we going to plan that?

Because your mum and dad would know that you weren't around.

And we'll be on the phone and we'll tell you exactly where to go

and what to do.

So we're moving the whole wedding to Paris.

But to make sure we keep it a secret the girls are sending

Ed as the advance party to do the legwork and get it all booked.

We're looking at the map and we were wondering

so all the guests get to see the amazing sights of Paris.

It doesn't sound too hard!

Well, that, unless I'm very much mistaken, is the Eiffel Tower

and there are some boats.

Yeah, it is pretty big actually,

you'd definitely fit all the guests on here.

The great thing is there's glass all down the side

so in the wedding they could actually see the Eiffel Tower.

Does it have enough space to do Highland dancing on?

Asha's cousin who's an expert at traditional Scottish dancing.

Moving the wedding from Scotland to France means organising a bit

more than a few wedding cars.

With the family flights booked, how are two ten-year-olds

going to get the 50 guests to their parents' surprise French wedding?

I'm at my gran's and she's set up an account to keep in contact.

Abbie and Thierry's wedding guests

are travelling from across the world.

I'm so excited.

We've got people coming from Spain, Germany, France,

Scotland, Ireland and Canada.

But that's not all -

the biggest surprise guest the girls have organised is Thierry's mum.

She lives in the Caribbean, 4,000 miles away.

Mum and Dad haven't seen her for years.

They have no idea that she'll be at their wedding day

in just a few weeks.

While Ed was in Paris, Asha and Isobel designed

a fantastic French-inspired dress and sent it to a local dressmaker.

Now they're here to make sure the finishing touches are perfect!

Today the girls and I are going to start pinning and sewing the train.

The key part of Asha and Isobel's design is to have a massive

French flag trailing down the back of mum's dress.

So she should be able to fling it out to display the flag.

jetted off to Paris for their wedding!

I can't wait to see their reaction when they find out.

their friends and family are also flying in from all over the world,

including Thierry's mum, on her way from the Caribbean,

Remember, yesterday Mum and Dad had no idea

they'd be in another country for their Big Day

and now the excitement is really starting to kick in.

how she's managed, how both of them have managed to keep it a secret.

I never would have thought she'd have organised something in Paris.

and the girls dressed in their French costumes, it's time to

and family have made the trip out for her big day.

And Dad's overjoyed to see his mum after so long.

I could hear my mum's voice through everybody's,

and I think I started crying, and that was it from there.

It was just fantastic.

I don't know how the girls have done it, but it's blowing my mind.
