This is the story of me, my crazy summer...

I'm on the red carpet, and I'm about to meet the star of the movie.

..and my even crazier family!

What?!

They smell delicious.

Ah-ah-ah!

He looks like Rumpole!

I love going away on holiday...

learning all about different people, places, and animals...

..cooking like crazy and writing my food blog.

But there is one big downside.

We all miss our dogs, Rumpole and Bruno, like mad.

Some of the dogs in LA are treated like film stars.

It's incredible!

So, the big question is...

I'm missing Rumpole and Bruno so much, I'm going to check on them

on the CCTV in the house in Britain.

'Let's go!'

What?! Rumpole's on the treadmill.

What's he doing?

-'Hi.'

-There's Bruno.

-'Hi!'

Why are they in the gym?

I bet you they want to become super fit so they can come to LA,

cos everyone in LA's really fit.

'That's better!'

No, Rumpole, don't sit down, no!

Someone better tell Rumpole that you have to turn it on

to actually get fit.

'Great workout!'

'Today, the guys are off to find out what else Rumpole and Bruno

'would need to know to become LA dude dogs.'

'And I'm cooking a lunch to celebrate canines...'

'..starting with Tilly's veggie dogs,

'scrummy onion hound hoops...'

Oh, wow!

'..and a dessert to whoop about -

'rollover Rover cake, complete with a wagging tail.'

'First, I'm tracking down another sort of dog.'

We're here to find out about the dogs people in LA love to eat.

-Hi, Julio.

-Hi, how can I help you?

I would like to find out what the ultimate hot dog is.

-We have a bunch.

-Cool, can I have a look?

-Yeah, come right in.

-Thank you.

They've been making hot dogs here for over 70 years, so they must know

what they're talking about.

So, the first one is Brando.

We put a little bit of onions.

-OK.

-Then we got the mustard.

Then we grab a little bit of chilli.

-Oh!

-And to top it off, a little bit of cheddar cheese.

-Nice.

'First great dog, done!'

Next would be the Ryan.

-This time, we'll be grabbing two.

-Two?

Two. Twice the fun. Mustard, chilli.

-Fries.

-Fries, on the hot dog?

-Yeah, we put fries on the actual hot dog.

-Wow!

-And then, is that cheese?

-Yeah, nacho cheese.

'And if that isn't big enough, it comes with a side of onion rings.'

-Wow.

-Yeah.

-That is a lot to eat.

'Last but not least...'

This one is our famous Giant Jalapeno.

What?! That sausage is huge!

-The jalapenos are inside the sausage...

-OK.

..so it gives a little spice to it.

Lettuce, tomato.

Pastrami. Bacon.

That's a lot of meat.

That is breakfast, lunch and dinner.

That is the biggest hot dog I've ever seen.

You can't even see the bun!

'But I want to know which is Julio's favourite.'

The Brando. Why? Cos I love cheddar cheese.

It's simple, plain, and delicious.

'If Julio recommends it, it'd be rude not to give it a try.'

-Taste good?

-That's really good.

Well, I can see why that's your favourite. Hot dog high five?

Hot dogs - tick.

I hope the others have found their starry dogs.

One of the most famous dogs in the world is Manny.

He's a French bulldog with over a million followers on social media.

My personal favourite is the shark outfit.

Meg, Holly - and friends Emma and Byron -

are on their way to meet this canine celebrity.

Manny's best friend and owner is Amber.

-I'm Holly.

-And you must be Manny!

-Manny!

So, I think we're all amazed.

How does Manny have a million Instagram followers?

It was just, I think, a combination of a lot of posting,

-and Manny being cute.

-So, does Manny live quite a pampered life?

Manny does get a little bit of special treatment,

but we try to keep him as grounded as possible.

We don't want fame to get to his head.

Like a lot of LA celebrities, Manny gets loads of attention.

Manny absolutely loves cuddles.

He's the biggest cuddle bug.

What are Amber's tips for getting your dog as famous as Manny?

Capture every moment you possibly can.

Nowadays we have our phones all day long any way.

People like to see animals doing human things,

so that's always fun to capture.

'Manny can't resist a photo...'

'..and he's definitely the star! No offence, guys.'

'From famous LA dogs to my delicious veggie dogs.'

I can't stop thinking about Bruno and Rumpole today,

so, in their honour, I'm going to make my Tilly veggie dogs.

'Inspired by my time at the hot dog restaurant...'

They're going to be piled high with lots of toppings and lots of sauce.

Really easy.

First, get your kidney beans and then mash them up.

'Oh, no!'

They're all over the carrots, as well.

'Oh, no!'

'Next, add grated carrot, lime juice, breadcrumbs.'

The breadcrumbs will help bind it together.

Pinch of turmeric for some flavour.

'Then salt, pepper, and, for extra goo, one egg.

'Finally, chop fresh coriander and mint.'

And then I'm just going to mix it all up, and squish it.

So, you want this mix to stick together like this,

and not all crumbly.

'Grab handfuls of your mixture and roll into sausage shapes.'

'To finish, roll your veggie sausages in sesame seeds and bake

'in a hot oven for ten to 15 minutes.'

Ooh, perfect.

And now, the fun bit - the decoration.

'It's going to be smaller than Julio's jalapeno dog.'

My secret is, so the bottom of the bun isn't dry...

'Add mild American mustard, ketchup and mayo, then the sausage.'

I really think the gang are going to love these.

'Then more mustard, ketchup and mayo.'

You can do all different patterns.

You don't want too much sauce, cos you want to be able

to taste the sausage.

'Finish with your favourite salad and veg.'

Lettuce, red cabbage, crunchy carrot, cucumber.

I need to get my blog picture.

'Check out some of my best recipes and blog on the CBBC website.'

These are in honour of the dogs.

When you do a dog massage, just start rubbing them.

A lot of it's just with the skin.

While she's doing that, if you want,

you can kind of, just, massage her paws.

She loves it.

How do you know if they're enjoying it, then?

If they didn't like it she wouldn't be here.

She would have took off.

'I bet Bruno and Rumpole would love getting massages like that!'

I'm naming all my recipes after dogs today.

Woof-woof.

SHE BARKS

I'm a yappy dog.

To go with my veggie dogs, I'm making healthy hound hoops -

my take on delicious onion rings.

'First, carefully cut your onions into thick slices,

'then pop out your onion hoops.'

Perfect.

Now I'm going to coat them in buttermilk.

'In another bowl full of breadcrumbs,

'add mixed Italian seasoning...'

This is pretty much just dried oregano and basil.

'..paprika...'

A nice big pinch.

'..and pepper.'

All these seasonings are going to give a lovely flavour.

Mix all this together.

'And dunk in your buttermilk-coated onion rings.'

And get them really coated, so the breadcrumbs stick.

This is quite messy.

'Just keep going until your tray is full.'

This is going to be the last one I can fit on this tray.

My hound hoops are ready to go in a hot oven for 15 minutes...

..until nice and crispy.

'Back at the five-star doggy hotel, Holly and Byron are being put to

'work in the spa and wellness centre.'

This is where all the doggies get spruced up.

What we're going to learn is how to give a "pawdicure".

'It's real dog nail varnish that's safe for dogs.'

Dogs in Hollywood like to have their nails done.

It's so cool that you can paint your own nails and have the same colour

-on your dog.

-Yeah, a lot of people like to match, it's really fun.

'I'm not sure Bruno and Rumpole would be into this

'side of the LA lifestyle.

'But I'm sure they'd love to take acting lessons,

'and learn how to play dead.'

Good girl!

'Perhaps Holly can turn them into LA film stars.'

Bang-bang.

You got to point the gun.

It's definitely, like, the most pampered dog place I have ever seen.

It's really the Hollywood lifestyle.

'Before the guys get back, got to finish lunch.'

Oh, wow, when I opened that door,

the smell of the onions and the herbs.

These are done.

Delicious.

Nice and crispy and golden.

And these are a lot healthier as they're not deep-fried,

I've just baked them.

So, got to get a picture for my blog.

I knew he'd not survive fitness, he's in the fridge.

You're never going to become super fit if you do that.

I'm always trying to come up with dishes that get people's attention.

My Rollover Rover cake is going to be delicious!

And if I get it right, I know the gang are going to love it.

'Here goes.'

I've got my sponges, which have cooled down.

I made them from eggs, sugar, self-raising flour and vanilla.

Then your jam.

'This is my favourite, raspberry, but you can use any flavour.'

Look. Can you see why I call it Rollover Rover cake?

Looks like a sausage dog.

'Now to give your Rover a melted chocolate coat.'

Oops. He's a tad messy.

'A messy dog, but going to be an oh-so-tasty dog.'

'Time to build Rover.'

Mum, I've made a dog but he looks like a cat.

'Mum's obviously not convinced he's about to go woof-woof.'

'The gang are back, so, before we eat, it's time to find out if

'Rumpole and Bruno are getting back into shape for LA.'

I can't believe you got to go to a doggy parlour.

Was it, like, a dog beauty parlour?

No, Mummy, you would not understand.

I don't want you getting any ideas for our dogs.

I mean, the fact that I have watched Rumpole even setting a paw

on my sofa, seriously.

'Uh-oh.'

'Rumpole's going to be in trouble when Mum gets back.'

And also, Mum, Manny the bulldog, he lives a life of luxury.

Is the dog a famous, sort of, movie star dog?

-Well, he's got a million followers.

-Only in LA.

'I love my foodie heart-to-hearts with Dad,

'almost as much as I love Rumpole and Bruno.'

So, dad, I made veggie dogs.

Oh, wow. That looks delicious.

Colours are beautiful, by the way.

-Thank you.

-Very vibrant. Really appetising.

-Any relish?

-No, no relish.

-Mustard?

-Mustard.

-You used mustard? I

-did!

-What?!

-I didn't put it on mine.

-Oh!

And then, on my next one, was healthy onion rings,

which I baked in the oven.

Is there such a thing as a healthy onion ring?

Yes, cos I didn't deep fry them.

-Were they crispy?

-They were very crispy.

-Mmm! Love that idea.

And then, my last one, my doggy.

-What is that?

-Mum said it looked like a caterpillar,

but it was a chocolate roll doggy.

It does look like something the dog has done.

Oh, Dad, don't you miss the doggies?

Mum, you know how sweet those dogs were?
