Episode 10 Meet the Kittens

It's our last day with the kittens and it's going to be a big day

for everyone, because today some of the kittens are going to new homes.

They're all fast asleep, so we're going to have to wake them up.

Oh, why?

Because, this morning, you're all going to the vets,

so, come on, let's get going!

Everybody's in the carriers so it's off to the car.

It's a hop, skip and a jump and look we're at the vets.

While the kittens are away, Mum, Cleo, has found a mouse.

She decides to take it home and show the kittens, but...oh, no!

The door's locked because the owner's at the vets.

And now the mouse has escaped. Cleo gives chase. Coco joins in,

but the mouse has run away.

Coco tries to find it. Is that it?

No. And even though they look everywhere, they can't find it.

Cleo decides to wait by the front door till the kittens return.

The vet is doing a checkup on the kittens before they go

to their new homes.

He checks the glands around their throats.

He makes sure their ears are clean.

He feels their tummies to make sure they're OK.

He inspects their bottoms.

He checks their hearts are beating properly...

..and their breathing is healthy.

He looks at their eyes and their mouth and teeth.

Ah! All in good shape.

Although, for some, it's all too much.

The kittens need an injection against flu

and other diseases that could make them sick.

They'll need a second injection in a few weeks,

once they've settled in to their new homes.

As you can see, getting an injection doesn't bother the kittens at all.

-Oh, can we go home now?

-SHE YAWNS

Wake me up when we get there, will you?

Back home, mums Coco and Cleo

come to make sure their babies are all right.

Mum, I passed all the vet's tests.

Oh! I lost my balance.

The vet didn't test me for that!

This is the last afternoon all 11 kittens will be together,

because new owners are coming to give the kittens new homes.

Here come the first new owners.

They've brought a big cat carrier,

because they would like to take two kittens.

They've chosen this kitten...

and this kitten.

But first, they take a cloth and wipe Coco's scent onto it

and then another cloth with Cleo's scent.

This is so the kittens won't feel too far away from their mums

when they leave.

And look! This kitten has already climbed into the carrier.

Her sister needs a bit of help, but in she goes.

Their sister comes along to say goodbye.

She's a bit sad they're going,

but knows they'll be happy in their new home.

Bye!

Coco says goodbye, as well.

Bye, Mum!

And then it's off to the car.

All strapped in and ready for their new adventure

in their new home.

Bye!

Bye.

The next new owners arrive.

-SHE GASPS

-I wonder who it will be this time!

I hope it's me. I'm in my lovely red collar.

It is! Bye, Mum, I'm off!

Ooh, it's like a spaceship.

Zowie! I'm going on a big trip.

You certainly are! Bye-bye.

New owners number three arrive.

Pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me, pick me!

Pick me, ple-e-e-ase!

They have! I'm going to a new home.

Bye, everybody.

The next new owners arrive.

I think it's my turn. See, there's the carrier.

I'm going to chance it.

Ha-ha! It worked!

KITTEN SINGS HAPPILY

Cleo checks the kitten is safely strapped in,

and Coco is sad to have seen five kittens leave so quickly.

Yes, five kittens have gone to new homes.

That means six remain.

They're a little bit lost without their brothers and sisters after

nearly ten weeks together, but more will be going to new homes soon.

Almost all the kittens have found homes now,

there are just two left.

Great news for Coco and Cleo - the owner has decided to keep one,

meet Jean-Claude.

HE LAUGHS AND PURRS

And guess what, I've fallen so in love with the kittens,

I've decided to take one home, as well.

And here she is, this is Ruby.

Say hello, Ruby.
