Hello! It's making time.

Get ready for an arty adventure around the world.

Today, we're going off road in South Africa

as we make a big jungle truck.

And we show you how to make your own small truck.

Find out how to create hilarious headband ears in a minute.

But first, it's time for some bird-watching in Brazil.

Whoa! Look where we are - we're in Brazil.

Oh, what a beautiful, exciting place.

There must be so much to see.

Let's have a look around.

There are so many wonderful things in Brazil -

the beaches...

the bright colours...

the trees...

and the birds.

Oh, look at that bird on a wire.

That's just given me a great idea.

Let's try something.

Try creating some feathery friends of your own

by making a brilliant bird picture.

Let's make it.

We'll need a Mini Maker to help us. Let's see if there's one nearby.

Hello, Mini Makers. Who's going to help me today?

Everyone else, thank you very much.

Ha-ha, brilliant. Klaus is on his way to help us make our picture.

But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

Wonderful!

The Marvellous Maker Case has become a Marvellous Making Table.

Now we just need some arty things to make our picture.

We'll need some paper or card.

A pen, a glue stick and some sticky tape.

Some stickers, some scissors.

And we'll also need some feathers.

You can find these in an art and craft shop but today,

to save time, I'm going to order some on my Makerphone.

Excuse me. There we are, feathers.

Now, we have to be patient because delivery can take quite a while.

Oh! That was quick. Right, let's have a look, shall we?

We've got some feathers.

And we'll also need one last thing.

That's right, it's a hand-held fan.

Ohh, yes.

-Here you go, Scrappz, you can have some as well.

-Ahh!

Scrappz, how did you get here?

What I really need is a ball of string.

Can you find one, please?

Oh, well done, Scrappz. Thank you very much.

-Brrrrr!

-Bye!

We've got a ball of string.

We've got everything we need.

Although, it does feel like something's missing.

Do you know what it is? Erm...

Oh...

Hello, Mister Maker. I'm here.

Of course, Klaus. It's you, my friend.

It's lovely to see you

and you're just in time to help us make our picture.

It's a brilliant birds on a string picture.

-So, Klaus, are you ready?

-Yes.

Excellent. Are you ready?

Fantastic. Let's get making.

Now, Klaus, the first thing we need is a big piece of background paper.

That's the colour of the sky.

And now I need two pieces of string.

Could you get those for me, please, Klaus?

We can lay these across our picture

at slightly different angles, like this.

Make sure your pieces of string are longer than your card.

Then, turn the card over

and tape the end of the string down like this.

Excellent. Our picture's really taking shape.

What we're going to do is put that to one side,

because we need to draw the birds and the clouds.

Let's start by drawing those clouds, actually.

I'm going to take this white paper and draw a cloud.

There, one fluffy cloud.

Now let's draw a bird.

So, just draw a teardrop shape on its side, like this.

Draw as many birds as you want.

And when you've finished,

carefully cut everything out.

Now, Klaus, can you look after all of the clouds and the bird shapes?

Because it's time to bring in our background paper.

There we go. And now, we need to put all of our pieces in place.

So, I'm going to take a cloud and start with that.

It looks good if the clouds are tucked under the string.

Place the birds slightly above the string

so that you'll have space to draw the legs later.

And when you're happy with the position of all your pieces,

glue them down.

And you could also add stickers for eyes and beaks, like this.

Then use a pen to add extra details like legs and black dots for pupils.

Our picture is nearly finished but something's missing.

-What is it, Klaus?

-It's the feathers.

The feathers, that's right.

So, let's stick the feathers on.

We've finished our brilliant birds on a string picture.

Now, I think we can all agree that I am a super handsome guy

in a sharp-looking suit.

That's right.

DING

But just imagine what it would like if I had big silly ears.

Ha-ha, I'd look like this.

-LAUGHING

-Very funny indeed.

Mini Makers - this is what we're going to make today.

It's a pair of headband ears.

Now, we can make some of these by using these arty things.

We've got some sticky tape.

Some fun foam.

A pair of scissors.

A glue stick.

A headband.

We've got a pen.

And some sparkly stars.

Do you think it's possible to make these...?

Headband ears, in just one minute?

ALL: No way!!

I think I can. I will have to be very quick

but don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

Are you ready?

ALL: YES!!

Are you ready? Brilliant.

Let's make it in a minute.

ALL: Three, two, one.

Start the clock. The first thing we're

going to do is fold the fun foam in half.

Then take our scissors and cut out

a wiggly ear shape starting here at the

open end. We must be careful

with scissors cos they are...

ALL: Sharp!

Round and round we go. That looks good.

There we go. That will give us

two ears. Let's get these ears down

and now we're going to get a pen and draw some

wiggly lines.

Like that. Wiggly lines.

That's some extra detail with a pen and

now let's get some glue. Bit of glue there

and a bit there.

Use these sparkly stars to make nice earrings.

Bring in our headband.

And sticky tape. We can stick the ears

to the headband. One side.

We've just got enough time over here to stick

on the other ear. And we have...

-KLAXON BLARES

-..finished!

Just in time. Headband ears made in a minute.

But if you've got more than a minute, you could try all sorts

of ideas.

Oh, you can make these dangly, glittery, fun-foam earrings.

Oh! Or you could try making these teddy bear ears

with fun fur around the edges. Or you could even make these

pointy alien ears with colourful sticky dots.

Here's a reminder of how to do it...

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Fold a piece of fun foam in half and carefully cut out an ear shape

so that you make two ears.

Add some pen details.

And sparkly stars for earrings.

Then stick the ears on to a headband with sticky tape.

And your headband ears are finished and ready to wear.

Hi, Mr Maker. I'm John and I'm from Australia.

I made this alien for you. First I got a tissue box.

Stuck some green paper on it. Then I got an eye out of an egg carton.

And stapled it on.

He's called Astro Alien.

My name is Jocelyn. I am from Hong Kong.

I made a plate of spaghetti.

I cut all the ingredients and then I stuck the noodles on the plate.

It looks yummy, Mr Maker.

Oh, what lovely ideas!

Really big wheels. Ah, nice. OK, then.

What else will we see in the jungle, do you think?

-A monkey.

-A monkey - what a great idea, Suzanne.

-I think we're ready, aren't we?

-ALL: YES!

Let's make it together.

These are the jungle leaves.

And the Mini Makers are making a monkey.

Scrappz.

-Here's the truck.

-Thank you.

And we'll need a nice colourful background.

Up there. We're having great fun making our big picture.

And that's just given my an idea.

Why don't you make something too?

Try making a terrific, colourful jungle truck

that's great to play with and fun to make.

You will need - two cardboard boxes.

Plastic lids and stickers.

Some card and a glue stick.

A pen, paintbrush and some paint.

First - take two boxes.

One slightly bigger than the other.

And glue the small one on top.

Then, paint the boxes and leave them to dry.

Glue on the plastic lids for lights.

And larger plastic lids for wheels on both

sides of the truck like this.

Then stick another lid on the back for a spare tyre.

Next, take a small scrap of card and stick it to the front

to make the truck's grille.

Now add stickers for lights.

Windows.

And hub caps.

Finally, add extra details with a black pen.

And your jungle truck is finished and ready to play with.

What a great idea. Why don't you try it?
