Hello! It's making time!

Get ready for an arty adventure around the world!

Today, we go to Australia to make an eggs-cellent egg diver

in under a minute.

Find out how to make your very own squirrel as we make

a wonderful woodland scene.

But first, let's fly off to the Far East to make some rather handy art.

I've had so many high fives and they've just given me a great idea.

Cecilia is on her way to help us make our picture,

but, first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

Oh, wonderful!

The Marvellous Maker Case has become a marvellous making table.

Now we just need some arty things to make our picture.

We'll need some scrap paper or card...

..some scrunched paper...

..some paint...

..some scissors, some paintbrushes...

and we'll also need, of course, my smelly socks. Huh?

My smelly socks? Scrappz! How did you get here?

Right, we've got everything we need.

Although...

it does feel like something's missing. Hmm.

Do you know what it is?

Of course! Cecilia, it's you! High-five!

And again. Excellent!

We're ready to make our picture. It's scrunched hand art. Lovely!

-Are you ready, Cecilia?

-Yes.

-Excellent! Are you ready?

Fantastic! Let's get making.

Now, this can get very, very messy,

so it's a good idea to put down some old paper or some newspaper

first and, Cecilia, I think we should put on some aprons.

So, follow me!

Now, we need to use our hands, Are your hands ready? Excellent.

We also need...

Some scrap paper or card and can you take a pen, please, Cecilia,

and I'm going to ask you to, very carefully, draw around my hand.

That's it.

Well done, Cecilia. That looks great!

And now, we need to cut it out,

but we must be careful with scissors because they are...?

-Sharp!

-That's right.

SCISSORS SNAP AND GROWL

Our cut-out hand is ready.

Let's put that to one side because we need some scrunched up paper.

You can use whatever type of paper you like,

but the more scrunched up, the better. Now, where's my card hand?

Oh, there it is. Thank you very much.

Place the hand anywhere you like on the paper

and get ready to start painting.

So, Cecilia, what colour of paint shall we use first?

I think we should use purple first.

Good idea. Let's get painting.

Just dab the paint around the edge of the hand, like this.

Now, if I take off the card hand...

-Cool!

-Ha, ha!

Now, we can use a different colour of paint.

It's a good idea to use dark and light colours,

so which colour of paint shall we use next.

-Yellow.

-Yellow - good idea, Cecilia.

And try to use a clean brush for each colour.

Carry on painting lots of hands in lots of different colours...

..then leave it to dry.

-Looks good, doesn't it?

-Yeah!

-We've finished!

It's some super scrunched hand art.

Now, can you guess what we're making today?

I'll give you a clue.

Ha, ha! So...any ideas?

ALL: No...

No?

Well, I thought it was obvious.

Today we are going to make this eggs-cellent egg diver.

And we can make one by using these arty things.

We need a small plastic egg or container like this,

a glue stick, a pen, an old lid, some modelling clay,

a fun foam triangle, a sticker,

a plastic bendy straw and some scissors.

Now, do you think it's possible to make this...

egg diver in just one minute?

ALL: Don't be silly!

Oh?

Well, I think I can do it. I will have to be...

..very quick, but don't worry. I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

Are you ready?

ALL: Yes!

All right!

Are you ready?

Fantastic! Let's make it in a minute.

ALL: Three, two, one.

Start the clock! Right, the first thing we're going to do is make

the face of our egg diver. So, we've got a sticker here

and we're going to draw a nice, smiley face....like this.

And let's stick it onto the old lid. Here we are.

Right, come on then, sticker. There we are, a nice, smiley face.

Right, now let's get our bendy straw

and we're going to very carefully cut out the bendy section.

Now, we need to be careful with scissors because they are...?

-ALL: Sharp!

-That's right.

So, let's put a little bit of glue on this snorkel.

We can stick it on to our egg diver. Oh, yes, that looks nice.

Now, we need to bring in our fun foam triangle.

We're going to cut out a little triangle shape, again,

very carefully. Now these are going to be the flippers. There we are.

Let's bring in our modelling clay and our egg now

and we can put some modelling clay behind the face,

which will help us stick it onto our egg and then we put a bit

more modelling clay on the flippers and we've made an egg diver.

THEY CHEER

Phew! I did it! Just in time.

But if you've got more than a minute,

you could try these other ideas too.

How about making this swimmer with spotty swimming trunks

and spiky hair?

Or you could try making this cheeky surfer with a fun foam surfboard.

Or you could even try making a water skier

with red and yellow skis.

Why don't you try one of those ideas?

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Draw a face onto the sticker and stick it onto the lid.

Carefully cut out the bendy part of a drinking straw

and stick it onto the face.

Now, cut out a small triangle shape from

a fun foam triangle for flippers.

Then push some modelling clay onto the back of the lid

and push the lid onto the egg.

Add more modelling clay to the flippers

and stick the egg onto them like this.

Your egg diver is finished.

First, I took a cardboard tube...

Then I put some rice and foil pins inside.

Then I covered both ends, then I decorated it.

It's a musical instrument that sounds like the rain.

I did the sun and the clouds and a big house.

Can you help us make a picture?

What a lovely idea!

I made it! I told you I would! Right, high-five!

So, what picture would you like to make?

ALL: A forest!

-A forest picture! Now, what's going to be in our forest picture?

-Trees!

Lots of tall trees - good idea. Any animals at all?

-Squirrels!

-Squirrels.

-Owls.

-Oh, these are great ideas. Are we ready everyone?

ALL: Yes!

Let's make it together!

These are going to be the trees.

THEY LAUGH

We are making a fox.

These are the toadstools.

And we'll need a nice woodland background.

We're have a great time making our big picture

and that's just given me an idea.

Why don't you make something too?

Try making your own little woodland creature,

like this cute squirrel with a fluffy tail.

You will need a cardboard tube and paper,

fun foam and a glue stick,

a pen and some scissors,

stickers and a small pompom,

and a strip of fun fur.

First, scrunch some paper into a ball for a head.

Then wrap it into another piece of paper leaving a long

piece like this for the neck.

Glue the head and neck into a cardboard tube.

Now, fold a piece of fun foam in half and draw an arm...

..a leg...

and a triangle for an ear.

Carefully, cut them all out.

And because we folded the foam in half, we now have two of everything.

Next, stick on the ears...

..the arms...

..and the legs.

Take the piece of fun fur and add a line of glue along the back of it.

Then fold the long edges into the middle and stick them down.

Now, stick the fur to the back of the tube.

And glue it into a curly tail shape.

Next, scrunch up a ball of tissue paper...

and stick it between the squirrel's hands to make a berry.

Add stickers for eyes and teeth.

Add a small pompom for a nose.

And, finally, a small sticker for a berry leaf.

Your terrific tube squirrel is finished and ready to play with.
