These trees are really nice. | 0:01:33 | 0:01:35
Lovely and leafy, and they've just given me a great idea! | 0:01:35 | 0:01:40
Let's try something. | 0:01:41 | 0:01:43
Have fun with twirls by making a terrific twirly tree picture. | 0:01:43 | 0:01:49
Let's make it! | 0:01:49 | 0:01:51
Now, we will need a Mini Maker to help us. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:57
Let's see if there's one nearby. | 0:01:57 | 0:02:00
Hello, Mini Makers. | 0:02:00 | 0:02:02
Who's going to help me today? | 0:02:02 | 0:02:04
-Hello, Mister Maker. I'm Joseph. -Hello, Joseph. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:08
-I can help you! -That's great news. | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
Everyone else, thank you very much, we'll see you soon. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:14
But Joseph, let's get making! Brilliant. | 0:02:14 | 0:02:17
Joseph is on his way to help us make our picture. | 0:02:17 | 0:02:21
But first, we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
Excellent! | 0:02:29 | 0:02:30
The Marvellous Maker Case has become a marvellous making table. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:35
Now we just need some arty things to make our picture. We will need... | 0:02:35 | 0:02:41
Some paper or card. | 0:02:41 | 0:02:43
Some scissors, and a pen. | 0:02:46 | 0:02:49
And of course, we need one more thing. | 0:02:49 | 0:02:52
That's right. We need a party blower! | 0:02:52 | 0:02:55
HE SQUEAKS | 0:02:55 | 0:02:56
HE LAUGHS | 0:02:56 | 0:02:58
A party blower? | 0:02:58 | 0:03:00
Scrappz, how did you get here? | 0:03:00 | 0:03:03
SCRAPPZ REPLIES | 0:03:03 | 0:03:04
I haven't got time for a party at the moment. | 0:03:04 | 0:03:07
Take this back, please, and go and find me a glue stick. | 0:03:07 | 0:03:10
-Go on, off you go. Thank you. -MUSIC PLAYS | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
Sounds like a really good party, as well! | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
Well done, Scrappz! | 0:03:16 | 0:03:18
That's just what we need. Thank you. Go on, get back to the party. | 0:03:18 | 0:03:22
Good dancing. | 0:03:22 | 0:03:24
We have a glue stick! | 0:03:24 | 0:03:27
Excellent. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:29
We've got everything we need. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
Although it does feel like something is missing. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:36
Do you know what it is? No? | 0:03:36 | 0:03:39
-I'm here, Mister Maker. -Of course! Joseph! It's you, my friend. | 0:03:39 | 0:03:44
It's lovely to see you. Thanks for coming. | 0:03:44 | 0:03:47
You're just in time to help us make our picture! | 0:03:47 | 0:03:50
It's a twirly tree picture and it's got lots of green, curly leaves. | 0:03:50 | 0:03:56
-Now, Joseph, are you ready? -Yes. -Good. Are you ready? | 0:03:56 | 0:04:02
Fantastic! Let's get making. | 0:04:02 | 0:04:04
Now, the first thing we need, Joseph, | 0:04:04 | 0:04:07
is a big piece of paper or card for our background. | 0:04:07 | 0:04:11
Now, I think this will work well. | 0:04:11 | 0:04:13
We're going to use blue, because it's going to be the sky. | 0:04:14 | 0:04:19
Now we need to make the forest floor. Can you pass me that? | 0:04:19 | 0:04:23
Nice light brown paper. Let's get tearing! | 0:04:23 | 0:04:28
We've also torn some green paper for the trees. | 0:04:33 | 0:04:36
Make sure you leave a gap at the bottom and the top like this. | 0:04:36 | 0:04:40
We need some more paper now. | 0:04:40 | 0:04:42
We're going to cut the paper into lots and lots of lovely strips. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:47
Let's use brown paper for brown strips. | 0:04:47 | 0:04:49
And why don't you cut some strips, Joseph, from that green paper? | 0:04:49 | 0:04:53
-We must be careful though, because scissors are... -Sharp! -That's right. | 0:04:53 | 0:04:59
Now, we've got lots of brown strips, and Joseph has made green strips. | 0:05:04 | 0:05:09
We're going to start with the brown strips now. | 0:05:09 | 0:05:12
These are going to be the tree trunks. | 0:05:12 | 0:05:14
So let's start to lay them down. | 0:05:14 | 0:05:16
It looks good if you tuck the trunks under the leaves | 0:05:16 | 0:05:20
at different angles. | 0:05:20 | 0:05:21
And when you've finished arranging the trunks, stick everything down. | 0:05:21 | 0:05:26
Our picture is really starting to take shape. | 0:05:26 | 0:05:29
-But something is missing. What is it, Joseph? -Twirls? | 0:05:29 | 0:05:32
If you say so. Music, please! | 0:05:32 | 0:05:35
Lovely. Oh! | 0:05:35 | 0:05:37
-Mister Maker? -Yes, Joseph. -I mean the twirls on the trees. | 0:05:44 | 0:05:49
I knew that really! We need to make the twirls on the trees! | 0:05:49 | 0:05:55
And to do that, we need... | 0:05:55 | 0:05:58
One of our strips, and a pen or pencil. | 0:05:58 | 0:06:02
We take one of the strips and just wind it around the pen. | 0:06:02 | 0:06:08
And when you get to the end, carefully slip it off the pen | 0:06:08 | 0:06:12
and you have a curly, twirly, springy shape. | 0:06:12 | 0:06:17
Now, we need to make lots of these, my friend. | 0:06:17 | 0:06:20
So let's get twirling! | 0:06:20 | 0:06:22
Right. | 0:06:22 | 0:06:24
Keep going until you have curled up lots of paper strips into twirls. | 0:06:27 | 0:06:33
Now stick down all of the curly twirls | 0:06:33 | 0:06:35
on to the green part of the picture. | 0:06:35 | 0:06:38
It looks good if they're close together, like this. | 0:06:44 | 0:06:48
Your twirly tree picture is finished! | 0:06:48 | 0:06:51
And if you enjoyed that, why not try these other ideas too? | 0:06:51 | 0:06:57
How about adding a boat | 0:06:57 | 0:06:58
to a twirly sea with a twirly sun and clouds? | 0:06:58 | 0:07:02
Or you could even go curl crazy | 0:07:05 | 0:07:07
with a twirly bird, cat, and flowers. | 0:07:07 | 0:07:11
Why don't you try one today? | 0:07:11 | 0:07:13
-Thank you so much for helping me, Joseph. -BOTH: We made it! -High-five. | 0:07:13 | 0:07:18
What a terrific twirly tree picture. Thanks, Joseph! | 0:07:19 | 0:07:24
The Houses of Parliament. What an amazing sight! | 0:07:27 | 0:07:30
I didn't think I'd see that today. | 0:07:30 | 0:07:33
SQUEAKING | 0:07:33 | 0:07:35
What's that noise? | 0:07:35 | 0:07:37
It seems to be coming from the Marvellous Maker Case. | 0:07:37 | 0:07:41
Can you hear that? | 0:07:41 | 0:07:43
It's the shapes! | 0:07:43 | 0:07:45
They're off on their journey around The World. | 0:07:45 | 0:07:48
# I am a shape | 0:07:51 | 0:07:54
# I am a circle | 0:07:57 | 0:07:59

How many triangles can you see? | 0:08:47 | 0:08:50
One. | 0:08:50 | 0:08:53 | |
Two. | 0:08:53 | 0:08:55 | |

It's the Queen's house! Buckingham Palace. | 0:09:15 | 0:09:19
I wonder if anyone's at home. | 0:09:19 | 0:09:21
I know. I'll go and knock on the door and find out. | 0:09:21 | 0:09:24
-PHONE RINGS -It's the Maker Phone. | 0:09:24 | 0:09:27

CHEERING | 0:09:56 | 0:09:58
And today, my friends, we're going to make this! | 0:09:58 | 0:10:02
It's a fur monster! | 0:10:02 | 0:10:04
And you can store all your important things inside, | 0:10:04 | 0:10:07
like this - my all-important secret emergency hair gel pot! | 0:10:07 | 0:10:11
Yes, you never know when you're going to need this. | 0:10:11 | 0:10:14
LAUGHTER | 0:10:14 | 0:10:16
There, that looks good. Does it look good? | 0:10:16 | 0:10:19
LAUGHTER | 0:10:19 | 0:10:20
Of course it does. Let's put the gel back. | 0:10:20 | 0:10:23
YAWNS AND GULPS | 0:10:23 | 0:10:24
And we can make one of these by using these arty things. | 0:10:24 | 0:10:27
Let's have a look. | 0:10:27 | 0:10:28
We've got a clean, empty plastic container like this | 0:10:28 | 0:10:32
with a lid. We've got some fun fur, a glue stick, two pom-poms. | 0:10:32 | 0:10:39
Two pipe cleaners, some card or paper shapes - oval shapes | 0:10:39 | 0:10:43
and circle shapes there. | 0:10:43 | 0:10:46
We've got some stickers and some sticky tape. | 0:10:46 | 0:10:49
Now, do you think it's possible to make this | 0:10:49 | 0:10:53
fur monster in just one minute? | 0:10:53 | 0:10:56
ALL: Don't be silly!! | 0:10:56 | 0:10:59
Oh... | 0:10:59 | 0:11:01 | |
Well, I will have to be... | 0:11:01 | 0:11:03
very quick, but don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. | 0:11:03 | 0:11:07
Are you ready? | 0:11:07 | 0:11:08
ALL: Yes!! | 0:11:08 | 0:11:10
Are you ready? | 0:11:10 | 0:11:12
Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute. | 0:11:12 | 0:11:14
ALL: Three, two, one... | 0:11:14 | 0:11:16
Start the clock. The first thing we're | 0:11:16 | 0:11:19
going to do is take our container | 0:11:19 | 0:11:21
and stick these oval shapes on the bottom. | 0:11:21 | 0:11:24
These are going to be the feet. | 0:11:24 | 0:11:26
Use a long piece of sticky tape for this | 0:11:26 | 0:11:29
and let's turn it up. Now we are going to get | 0:11:29 | 0:11:31
our pipe cleaners and stick those on | 0:11:31 | 0:11:34
each side to make the arms. | 0:11:34 | 0:11:35
There we go. Now let's stick | 0:11:35 | 0:11:38
the other one on. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:39
There we go. Right, let's get these circles. | 0:11:41 | 0:11:44
Stick these on the end of the pipe cleaners | 0:11:44 | 0:11:46
to make hands. There's one, | 0:11:46 | 0:11:49
there we go. | 0:11:49 | 0:11:51
Now another bit of sticky tape. | 0:11:51 | 0:11:53
Brilliant. Now, let's get some glue | 0:11:55 | 0:11:57
and we put lots of glue on top like that. | 0:11:57 | 0:12:01
And then we bring in our fun fur. Now we get | 0:12:01 | 0:12:04
our lovely pom-poms | 0:12:04 | 0:12:06
and we stick them in. There's one, there's | 0:12:06 | 0:12:09
two and now we just need our stickers to | 0:12:09 | 0:12:11
go on top because these are the pupils | 0:12:11 | 0:12:14
of our lovely, fantastic furry | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
fur monster! | 0:12:16 | 0:12:18
BELL RINGS KLAXON BLARES | 0:12:18 | 0:12:19
ALL: YES! | 0:12:19 | 0:12:21
Phew! I did it just in time. But if you've got more than | 0:12:21 | 0:12:25
a minute you could try these other ideas too. | 0:12:25 | 0:12:28
How about this multi-coloured monster with four arms | 0:12:28 | 0:12:31
and a bright red tongue? | 0:12:31 | 0:12:33
MONSTER GROWLS | 0:12:33 | 0:12:34
Or you could even try a big purple monster | 0:12:34 | 0:12:37
with three eyes and fun-foam hands. | 0:12:37 | 0:12:39
Fur monsters made in just one minute. Why don't you try it? | 0:12:39 | 0:12:44
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:12:44 | 0:12:46
Let's go back to the beginning and take a look. | 0:12:46 | 0:12:49
Stick some oval-shaped pieces of paper to the bottom | 0:12:49 | 0:12:53
of the container. Attach two pipe-cleaners for arms. | 0:12:53 | 0:12:56
And stick some round pieces of paper to the pipe-cleaners for hands. | 0:12:56 | 0:13:01
Glue a piece of fun fur to the container lid, | 0:13:01 | 0:13:04
add pom-poms and stickers for eyes, and your fur monster is finished | 0:13:04 | 0:13:08
and ready to put things in. | 0:13:08 | 0:13:11
Why don't you try and make it in just one minute? | 0:13:12 | 0:13:16
It's time for me to go, my friends, but thank you so much | 0:13:16 | 0:13:19
for being part of another marvellous minute-make! | 0:13:19 | 0:13:24
ALL: Bye! | 0:13:24 | 0:13:26
Oh, what's this? | 0:13:30 | 0:13:32
It's a Mini Maker postcard. | 0:13:33 | 0:13:36
Let's see what we've been sent today. | 0:13:36 | 0:13:40
Hello, my name is Megan. I made a parrot for you. | 0:13:40 | 0:13:43
The earrings are made of stickers. I painted the head yellow. | 0:13:45 | 0:13:50
"Hello, I'm a parrot." | 0:13:50 | 0:13:53
My name is Pedro and I made this beautiful robot | 0:13:53 | 0:13:57
that I think Mister Maker is going to love. | 0:13:57 | 0:14:01
This robot is made of tinfoil and I made the legs | 0:14:01 | 0:14:07
of tissue paper. My robot's name is Robotical. | 0:14:07 | 0:14:11
Oh, what lovely ideas! | 0:14:11 | 0:14:13
Why don't you try some of those today? | 0:14:13 | 0:14:15
-PHONE RINGS -Oh, the Maker Phone's ringing, | 0:14:15 | 0:14:19
excuse me... | 0:14:19 | 0:14:20
Ah, some Mini Makers are calling. | 0:14:21 | 0:14:24
Hello, Mister Maker, I'm Sesegu. I'm from South Africa | 0:14:24 | 0:14:28
and these are my friends. | 0:14:28 | 0:14:29
-Can you help us make a picture? -What a lovely idea! | 0:14:29 | 0:14:33
I'll see you for a high-five in... | 0:14:33 | 0:14:35
Five...four... | 0:14:35 | 0:14:37
ALL: Three, two... | 0:14:39 | 0:14:42
BOAT HORN BLARES ..one. | 0:14:42 | 0:14:44

I told you I would. High-five! | 0:14:50 | 0:14:53
Oh, what picture would you like to make? | 0:14:54 | 0:14:57
-Helicopter. -Oh, a helicopter. I like helicopters. | 0:14:57 | 0:15:01
What does a helicopter use to stay in the air? | 0:15:01 | 0:15:05
-Propellers. -Propellers, that's right. | 0:15:05 | 0:15:08
Everybody do a helicopter impression. | 0:15:08 | 0:15:11
ALL MAKE WHIRRING NOISES | 0:15:11 | 0:15:13
-And where's our helicopter flying? -In the sky. -In the sky. | 0:15:13 | 0:15:17
And what else will be in the sky? | 0:15:17 | 0:15:19
-White cloud. -The sun. -Excellent work, Mini Makers. | 0:15:19 | 0:15:22
I think we're ready, aren't we? | 0:15:22 | 0:15:24
ALL: Yeah! | 0:15:24 | 0:15:26
Let's make it together. | 0:15:26 | 0:15:27
I'm making a cloud. | 0:15:29 | 0:15:32
These cups are for the propellers. | 0:15:34 | 0:15:38
This is the rest of the helicopter. | 0:15:38 | 0:15:40
And we'll need a nice blue sky. | 0:15:41 | 0:15:43
SCRAPPZ SPEAKS | 0:15:45 | 0:15:49
We are having great fun making our big picture | 0:15:49 | 0:15:52
and that has just given me a great idea. | 0:15:52 | 0:15:55
Why don't you make something too? | 0:15:55 | 0:15:59
Make a brilliant bottle helicopter that's great to play with | 0:15:59 | 0:16:03
and fun to make. | 0:16:03 | 0:16:05
You will need - a cardboard tube and some scissors. | 0:16:05 | 0:16:10
Paint and an empty plastic bottle. | 0:16:10 | 0:16:13
Lolly sticks and some sticky tape. | 0:16:13 | 0:16:16
Plastic lids and gloopy glue. Tissue paper and paint brushes. | 0:16:16 | 0:16:21
A glue stick and some stickers. | 0:16:21 | 0:16:23
First, carefully cut a small cardboard tube in half. | 0:16:25 | 0:16:29
Then, tape a lolly stick to each edge like this. | 0:16:32 | 0:16:37
Now, tape the tube and lolly sticks to a clean empty bottle. | 0:16:41 | 0:16:44
Stick a drinks lid to the other side of the bottle. | 0:16:46 | 0:16:50
And tape another lid to the base of the bottle. | 0:16:52 | 0:16:55
Now, cover everything in gloopy glue and coloured tissue paper like this. | 0:17:00 | 0:17:05
And leave it to dry. | 0:17:07 | 0:17:08
Next, paint a stripe along the side of your helicopter. | 0:17:10 | 0:17:14
You can even paint a window on the front. | 0:17:14 | 0:17:18
Then, stick two lolly sticks together | 0:17:18 | 0:17:21
to make a small cross shape. | 0:17:21 | 0:17:23
And four lolly sticks together like this to make a bigger cross shape. | 0:17:26 | 0:17:32
These will be the propellers. | 0:17:36 | 0:17:38
Stick the smaller one to the back of the helicopter. | 0:17:40 | 0:17:44
And the bigger one on top. | 0:17:46 | 0:17:48
Finally, add stickers for decoration. | 0:17:51 | 0:17:54
Your helicopter is finished and ready to play with. | 0:17:55 | 0:17:59
