Mister Maker Around The World!

0:00:400:00:42

Hello! It's making time!

0:00:420:00:45

Get ready for an arty adventure around the world!

0:00:450:00:50

'Today, we're off to South Africa to make a picture that's out of this world!

0:00:500:00:56

'We'll create your own cosmic control panel

0:00:560:01:00

'and a super sock pen pot in just one minute.

0:01:000:01:04

'But first, we go down under to make footprints at the beach.'

0:01:040:01:09

Oh, wow! We're on a beautiful beach in Australia!

0:01:130:01:19

Oh, I love it at the beach.

0:01:190:01:21

We've got the sea, we've got the sun. And, of course, we've got my footprints in the sand.

0:01:210:01:28

Wait a minute! That's just given me a great idea!

0:01:280:01:33

Let's try something.

0:01:340:01:36

'Have fun with your feet and make a fantastic footprint animal picture.'

0:01:360:01:42

Let's make it!

0:01:420:01:45

We're going to need a Mini Maker to help us.

0:01:460:01:50

Let's see if there's one nearby.

0:01:500:01:52

Hello, Mini Makers. Who's going to help me today?

0:01:520:01:56

-Hello, Mister Maker, I'm Jaden.

-Hello, Jaden.

0:01:560:02:00

-I can help you.

-Oh, that's fantastic news!

0:02:000:02:03

Everyone, thank you very much. See you soon.

0:02:030:02:07

Oh, brilliant!

0:02:070:02:09

Jaden will help us make our picture.

0:02:090:02:11

But first we need somewhere to make it.

0:02:110:02:14

Oh, wonderful! The Marvellous Maker Case has become a Marvellous Making Table.

0:02:200:02:26

Now we need arty things to make our footprint animal picture.

0:02:260:02:31

We'll need a tray...

0:02:310:02:35

..some paper or card...

0:02:360:02:38

..some paint...

0:02:400:02:42

..a glue stick, some scissors and a pen

0:02:440:02:49

and my travel can of stinky feet spray.

0:02:490:02:54

My travel can of stinky feet spray?

0:02:550:02:58

We don't need this!

0:02:580:03:00

Scraps! How did you get here?

0:03:000:03:04

SCRAPS GABBLES

0:03:040:03:05

Oh, I see! We don't need this can of stinky feet spray at the moment.

0:03:050:03:11

But we do need some stickers.

0:03:110:03:13

-SCRAPS GABBLES

-Oh, good. Off you go.

0:03:130:03:16

Oh, there we are, some stickers! Thank you very much, Scraps.

0:03:170:03:22

We've got some stickers!

0:03:220:03:25

There we are, we've got everything we need,

0:03:250:03:29

except I feel there's something missing.

0:03:290:03:33

-Do you know what it is?

-I'm here, Mister Maker.

0:03:330:03:37

Jaden, of course! Thank you for coming.

0:03:370:03:40

You're just in time to help us make this footprint animal picture.

0:03:400:03:45

Look, it's a mummy kangaroo with her baby in her pouch.

0:03:450:03:49

-Are you ready, Jaden?

-Yeah, sure.

0:03:490:03:52

Good! Are you ready?

0:03:520:03:55

Fantastic! Let's make it!

0:03:550:03:57

Now, the first thing we're going to do is draw a kangaroo.

0:03:570:04:02

Can you pass me that orange card there, please? That's it.

0:04:020:04:07

Drawing a kangaroo is easier than you think.

0:04:070:04:10

Let's start off by drawing a big teardrop shape for the body.

0:04:100:04:15

Then do a smaller one for the head.

0:04:160:04:19

A longer one for the tail.

0:04:190:04:22

And two small ones for the ears.

0:04:220:04:24

Now, we mustn't forget the kangaroo's pouch.

0:04:250:04:29

That looks a little bit like a smiley mouth.

0:04:290:04:33

Now, what do you normally see in a kangaroo pouch?

0:04:330:04:37

-A joey.

-A joey, that's right!

0:04:370:04:40

That's a baby kangaroo. So, Jaden, why don't you use that brown card

0:04:400:04:46

and draw the baby kangaroo?

0:04:460:04:49

Jaden, you're going to draw a small, baby-sized teardrop for the head.

0:04:500:04:55

Two tiny teardrop ears.

0:04:570:04:59

And two paws.

0:05:020:05:04

Good job. When you've drawn your kangaroo pieces, you need to cut them out,

0:05:040:05:10

-but be careful because scissors are...

-Sharp!

-That's right!

0:05:100:05:15

There, we've got all our cut-out pieces of our kangaroo and our joey.

0:05:210:05:26

And now we're ready to arrange them on our background.

0:05:260:05:30

And when you're happy with your picture, we can glue everything down.

0:05:330:05:39

Now we're going to add eyes, noses and mouths

0:05:390:05:42

using stickers and a black pen.

0:05:420:05:45

That's her nose.

0:05:460:05:48

It's just like your nose.

0:05:480:05:51

-Like my nose?

-HE LAUGHS

0:05:510:05:54

And here are the eyes.

0:05:550:05:57

It's looking good, but something's missing. What?

0:06:020:06:06

-Feet.

-Feet, that's right! Walk this way!

0:06:060:06:10

This can get a little bit messy, so Jaden is wearing an apron,

0:06:100:06:16

we've put down some old paper and our paint is in a tray.

0:06:160:06:20

If you're making this at home, get an adult to help you.

0:06:200:06:25

But today, I'm going to help you. High-five!

0:06:250:06:28

Excellent work! Very carefully step into the tray of paint.

0:06:280:06:34

One foot at a time. That's it.

0:06:340:06:37

And another foot. Good boy!

0:06:370:06:39

And then, one foot at a time, step onto the picture.

0:06:390:06:43

Well done. That's it. And then your other foot.

0:06:430:06:47

That's brilliant! And now step back into the tray.

0:06:470:06:52

Good boy. Excellent work! What a great picture.

0:06:520:06:57

And if you enjoyed that, try these other ideas.

0:06:570:07:01

'How about a seal with footprint flippers?'

0:07:020:07:05

'Or you could try a scorpion

0:07:070:07:10

'with footprint pincers and a footprint sting.

0:07:100:07:14

'Or you could even try making a pair of terrific toucans

0:07:140:07:18

'with multicoloured footprints for beaks.'

0:07:180:07:22

Animal footprint pictures are great fun. Why don't you try one?

0:07:220:07:27

Jaden, we've cleaned your feet up.

0:07:270:07:29

All that remains is for me to say a big thank you to you.

0:07:290:07:34

BOTH: We made it!

0:07:340:07:36

'What a fabulous way to use your feet.

0:07:360:07:39

'Well done, Jaden! Bye!'

0:07:390:07:41

It's wonderful travelling the world. So much to see.

0:07:430:07:48

Look, that's Sydney's famous Opera House.

0:07:480:07:51

Oh... What...

0:07:510:07:53

What's that noise coming from the Marvellous Maker Case?

0:07:530:07:59

It's the shapes!

0:08:010:08:03

They're off on their journey around the world.

0:08:030:08:07

ALL: # I am a shape

0:08:090:08:12

# I am a circle

0:08:150:08:17

# I am a triangle

0:08:190:08:21

# I am a square

0:08:240:08:26

# I am a rectangle

0:08:290:08:31

# I am a shape

0:08:390:08:41

# I am a shape

0:08:430:08:45

# I am a shape

0:08:480:08:50

# I am a shape

0:08:530:08:55

# I am a circle

0:09:010:09:03

'What are the circles making today?

0:09:060:09:09

'Can you guess?

0:09:120:09:14

'What could it be?

0:09:150:09:18

-'It's a sheep.'

-SHEEP BAAS

0:09:200:09:22

'Well done, shapes. It's time to get back in the Marvellous Maker Case.'

0:09:240:09:30

It's so much fun travelling the world. You never know when you'll meet new friends.

0:09:320:09:38

-Hello, you guys. Hello!

-PHONE RINGS

-Ooh! The Maker Phone's ringing.

0:09:380:09:44

It's Tocky.

0:09:440:09:47

TOCKY SQUAWKS It's Minute Make time in the UK!

0:09:480:09:52

Ooh, thanks, Tocky.

0:09:520:09:54

It's Minute Make time!

0:10:140:10:16

THEY CHEER

0:10:160:10:18

That's right! Now, can anyone guess what colour my socks are?

0:10:180:10:23

-Green!

-Guesses, please!

-Blue!

-Yellow!

0:10:230:10:26

All good guesses, Mini Makers, but today my socks are...

0:10:260:10:31

-Drum roll, please.

-DRUM ROLL

0:10:310:10:34

-..yellow!

-THEY CHEER

0:10:340:10:38

Now, we need some more socks because we're going to make this!

0:10:380:10:43

It's a sock pen pot, very useful for keeping all of your arty things inside.

0:10:430:10:49

Now, we can make one of these by using these arty things.

0:10:490:10:53

We've got a sock, a pot,

0:10:530:10:56

a glue stick, some fun fur,

0:10:560:10:59

a pen and some stickers.

0:10:590:11:01

Now, do you think it's possible to make this sock pen pot

0:11:010:11:07

-in just one minute?

-ALL: No way!

0:11:070:11:10

I think I can. I'll have to be very quick.

0:11:100:11:13

I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Ready?

0:11:130:11:16

-ALL: Yeah!

-Are you ready? Fantastic. Let's make it in a minute.

0:11:160:11:22

-Three! Two! One!

-Start the clock!

0:11:220:11:25

Let's get our sock and pot and put the pot inside the sock

0:11:250:11:30

and put the rest of the sock in there.

0:11:300:11:33

Let's get our pen and draw on a smiley face like that.

0:11:330:11:39

There we are. Right, get some stickers

0:11:390:11:42

and draw dots inside the stickers for eyes.

0:11:420:11:46

And let's stick on the stickers.

0:11:480:11:50

There's one eye

0:11:500:11:53

and there's another eye.

0:11:530:11:56

Now let's use these rectangle-shaped stickers for teeth. There's one.

0:11:560:12:02

There's another one.

0:12:020:12:04

And one last tooth, here we go.

0:12:040:12:07

Let's give our friend some hair. We've got fun fur.

0:12:070:12:11

Let's stick on some glue like that. There we go.

0:12:110:12:15

If we turn him round like that, he's taking shape,

0:12:150:12:19

and we can stick in our lovely hair and we have done it!

0:12:190:12:24

THEY CHEER

0:12:240:12:26

I did it, just in time.

0:12:260:12:29

But you could try all sorts of ideas.

0:12:290:12:32

'How about a smiley striped pot

0:12:320:12:36

'with blue woollen hair and pink sticker cheeks?

0:12:360:12:40

'Or a spotty pen pot

0:12:400:12:42

'made from a dotty sock with three eyes and orange hair?

0:12:420:12:46

'Or you could make a bright orange pot

0:12:460:12:49

'with wild, curly pipe-cleaner hair.'

0:12:490:12:53

Sock pen pots made in a minute.

0:12:530:12:55

Why don't you try it? Here's a reminder of how to do it!

0:12:550:12:59

'Let's go back and take another look.

0:12:590:13:02

'Pull a sock over an empty pot like this.

0:13:020:13:06

'Draw on a mouth, add dots to stickers for eyes and stick them on.

0:13:060:13:12

'Add sticker teeth and glue fun fur inside the back of the pot for hair.

0:13:120:13:18

'Your sock pen pot is finished.'

0:13:180:13:21

Why don't you try and make it in a minute?

0:13:230:13:26

Thanks for being part of another Marvellous Minute Make!

0:13:260:13:31

THEY CHEER

0:13:310:13:34

It's the Queen's house, Buckingham Palace. Look!

0:13:340:13:38

Ooh. Hey, what's this?

0:13:390:13:43

Ah!

0:13:430:13:45

A Mini Maker postcard. Let's see what we've been sent.

0:13:450:13:49

Hello, I'm Isobel from Hong Kong

0:13:490:13:52

and I made a bird for you.

0:13:520:13:54

I painted my bird.

0:13:540:13:58

I stick the eyes and stick the feathers.

0:13:580:14:02

I hope you like it, Mister Maker.

0:14:020:14:05

Hello, Mister Maker, I am Maria from Brazil.

0:14:050:14:09

I made a book for you.

0:14:090:14:11

I drew a butterfly and coloured it in.

0:14:110:14:15

And I drew a flower. Would you like to read my book, Mister Maker?

0:14:150:14:20

Aw, what lovely ideas.

0:14:200:14:23

-Why don't you try one of those?

-PHONE RINGS

0:14:230:14:26

Excuse me. Oh, some Mini Makers are calling.

0:14:260:14:30

Hello, Mister Maker, my name is Erin and I live in South Africa

0:14:300:14:35

and these are my friends.

0:14:350:14:38

-Hello!

-Can you help us make a picture?

0:14:380:14:42

Oh, what a great idea! I'm on my way.

0:14:420:14:45

I'll be with you for a high-five in five,

0:14:450:14:48

four...

0:14:480:14:51

ALL: Three!

0:14:510:14:53

Two!

0:14:530:14:54

One!

0:14:540:14:56

We're in South Africa!

0:14:560:14:59

I made it! I told you I would.

0:14:590:15:03

Right, high-five! What picture would you like to make?

0:15:030:15:08

-Space.

-A space picture. I love outer space.

0:15:080:15:13

-What's going to be in our picture?

-A rocket.

-Of course!

0:15:130:15:17

-What will our rocket look like?

-We're going to look out the rocket.

0:15:170:15:23

Oh, I see! We won't be looking at it, we'll be inside it.

0:15:230:15:27

-Is that right?

-ALL: Yeah!

0:15:270:15:30

-Wow! So are you all space captains?

-ALL: Yeah!

0:15:300:15:34

-Are we ready to blast off to space?

-ALL: Yeah!

-Let's make it together.

0:15:340:15:39

ALL: We are making a rocket.

0:15:390:15:41

Let's paint a planet. Come on, everyone.

0:15:510:15:54

There we go, get painting!

0:15:540:15:57

'These are the buttons for a control panel.

0:16:040:16:08

'And we'll need a nice space background.'

0:16:100:16:14

Thanks, Tristan. Well done, Jesse. We're having fun making our picture

0:16:170:16:23

and that's given me an idea. Why don't you make something, too?

0:16:230:16:27

'Try making a colourful cosmic control panel.

0:16:270:16:31

'It's great fun to play with on your own space adventure.

0:16:310:16:36

'You will need a small box,

0:16:360:16:38

'kitchen foil and sticky tape,

0:16:380:16:40

'a small piece of card and a glue stick,

0:16:400:16:43

'colourful lids, a pencil, modelling clay,

0:16:430:16:47

'stickers and a photograph.

0:16:470:16:49

'First, find a small box

0:16:490:16:51

'and make sure all the flaps have been stuck down.

0:16:510:16:56

'Now take some kitchen foil and wrap the box up like a present.

0:16:560:17:01

'Stick down all the edges with sticky tape.

0:17:020:17:06

'Next, take a rectangle of card

0:17:070:17:10

'and stick it to the front of the box for a screen, like this.

0:17:100:17:15

'Now stick on colourful lids for buttons and knobs.

0:17:150:17:19

'To make an antenna, push the non-pointed end of a pencil

0:17:210:17:25

into a ball of modelling clay.

0:17:250:17:28

'Then carefully push the pointed end into the box.

0:17:290:17:33

'It's a good idea to ask an adult to help you.

0:17:330:17:36

'Add stickers for extra buttons and lights.

0:17:380:17:42

'And to finish it off, stick on a picture or photograph like this.

0:17:420:17:47

'But make sure it's a little bit smaller than the screen.

0:17:470:17:51

'What a handsome spaceman!

0:17:510:17:54

'Now your cosmic control panel is finished and ready to play with.'

0:17:540:18:00

What a great idea. Why don't you try it?

0:18:030:18:06

Now, let's see what's happening in outer space.

0:18:060:18:10

Well done, everyone!

0:18:160:18:18

ALL: We made it together!

0:18:180:18:21

ALL CHEER

0:18:210:18:24

'Look at the view from our rocket.

0:18:250:18:28

'There are so many stars and planets out there.'

0:18:280:18:32

Wow. We have seen some incredible sights today on our arty adventures.

0:18:320:18:37

Remember, wherever you are, get making!

0:18:370:18:41

-PHONE RINGS

-Excuse me. It's my phone.

0:18:410:18:44

-Oh, it's Tocky.

-TOCKY SQUAWKS

-Hello.

0:18:440:18:47

Time to go. Time to go.

0:18:470:18:50

Oh, thanks, Tocky. I'll be home soon.

0:18:500:18:54

That's it for now. My making time's over, but yours is just beginning.

0:18:540:19:00

It's time to put the Marvellous Maker Case back in its box.

0:19:000:19:04
